we are lucky. We have 2 great teams in the finals with 2 great leaders. Matching wits will be interesting. Bruce Arena is the reason for the Galaxy turnaround plus of course his acquisitions. I will root for REAL. I like many of the Galaxy guys and think a lot of Arena. It is going to be a great game let us all hope and let us further hope it is not decided by a bad call either way.

I thought the Stadium was "retractable" in Seattle?

Fans correct me if I am wrong///

It seems like a decent field even if field turf. I have seen much worse such as the garbage we played like pinball at Rice Stadium.

He has had to learn a lot

But I'm pretty convinced he'll be a good coach.

Nussdorfer AC

Kries has done the job when it matters. He deserves to be around awhile. Good work Jason.

Todd, I looked for awhile and it looks like there is no retractable roof. Despite the turf and rainy conditions, this will be a great event and hopefully RSL can get the job done and bring home the hardware.

nerves

It will be interesting to see how long he stays. I think a long term coaching job in soccer is two or three years. As soon as your form dips your out. Look at Preki, three straight years in the playoffs and now he is out.
I'm not sure if an MLS cup win helps or not. If we win, than everyone will expect him to pull it off every year.
Oh well, I would love to buy a jersey with a star over the logo. Go Real! bring home the cup!

no

not retractable. that was the king dome.

Wouldn't matter

It wouldn't matter if Ronald Reagan, Lavell Edwards, or Thomas S. Monson was the coach. People in Utah would still hate soccer.

Chadders

I didn't really like Kreis the midfielder but I love Kreis the coach. I've not waivered about him still coaching next year, even when our playoff hopes seemed impossible. I think Kreis could very much be like Pep is for Barcelona. In Kreis we trust!!

deadface

This is a club, that has taken its lumps over the last few years, and still manages to get into the playoffs, against all odds. THe personality of the coach, has been taken by the club.

GO GET THEM, Jason!!!

Re: Wouldn't matter

"People in Utah would still hate soccer."

That hatred of soccer must be why RSL outdraws the Jazz at the box office and why thousands of Utahns are heading up to Seattle this weekend for MLS Cup. That must be why we sold out two World Cup qualifiers and Real Madrid's game. That must be why more Utahns play soccer than any other sport.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

REAL fan in DC

I wish I could make the trip out to Seattle. I will definitely be watching the game on TV. I was at the world cup qualifier with my dad and four of my five brothers when the US played Costa Rica at Rice Eccles stadium a few years back. It was great and the passion for the sport by the fans in attendance was evident. Go REAL!!!!

Re: todd

There is no retractable roof. I am a diehard Seahawks fan, been to that stadium many times...wish I would be going for this reason. Currently deployed to Iraq though. I will be watching you play Real, let's bring home that cup!!!!

Soccer

is a girl's sport. Speaking of which, why doesn't RSL draft that chick from New Mexico to play for them? She could defend any macho dude with a pony tail!

The fact that RSL is in the MLS Cup finals isn't an indication that they're good or the sport is for men, it points out how terrible the sport is nationwide. Any expansion team that wins it all only a few years after coming into existance exploits the weakness of the sport.

Besides, I'm suprized Dave Checketts hasn't run the franchise into the ground yet. Just sayin based on his ability to run the Knix. They're still paying for his and Isaih Thomas's ineptness.

Anyway, good luck with that girl sport stuff RSL. I'm sure we'll hear about it second hand, in passing, if you win.

lucky lucky man

Had it not been for some extremely fortunate results at the end of the season kreis would be on his way out and his coaching career most likely over..

Seems like he will eventually be a great coach but for now he still has a lot to learn..

The retractable roof is on the Mariners stadium which is right next to quest field.

Anyone know where the team is staying?

rsl

Come on You Real!

Roooob

Really? Soccer is only for girls? Apparently ESPN disagrees with you. They forked over 100 million bucks to play the world cup in the United States next summer. Salt Lake county must disagree with you also, since they are helping pay for our beautiful new stadium.. Oh and did you forget about the 16,000 a game that pack the RioT?
Yea I think you did..

Come on RSL bring home the cup!!!

Coach kreis

He is still young but i think he has what it takes to be the future USA mens National team coach. It might take a good 10 15 years before he has enough experience but i think he has a good shot.

Can not wait any longer

I wish it was sunday soo bad.. Can't wait to see RSL on ESPN sunday night.

3-1 RSL

Ignore the inferiority complex that the haters so often show us..

RSL fan in Boise

Can't wait to watch the final. Hopefully Yura Movsysian can make his last game with Real Salt Lake his best ever. Espindola is injured so I expect him to come off the bench and Movsysian will probably start. If we can put the ball in the back of the net early i like our chances. I dont understand why Russel is playing over Beltran? Guy nearly costed us the series in columbus.

odds are

The betting odds pick LA galaxy as a 3-1 favorite.
Just the way we like it!
