The sales tax is going up to 7%, right?
NO MORE TAXES! Cut the budget again, we, the taxpayers have had enough.
This is how government cuts spending, raise taxes to equal spending.
I'm for cutting this extra restaurant food tax for it is an exploited tax. This 1% tax is called a tourist tax and seeing as how tourist may eat in every restaurant in the state they tax them all so they don't miss any tourist. But it also taxes state citizens so it can't be called discrimination by tourist. Utah is not a tourist or business friendly state when it comes to taxes. Hotels charge and extra 2 or 3% to strip tourist out of money.
Utah has a tourist economy and the state doesn't want to miss out on any of the money they bring in so it over taxes them. Who was representing them when this tax law was written?
Instead of rearranging taxes and subjecting citizens and the economy more losses, they need to seek deep in their souls to think about who they are elected by, and its not the illegals, and illegals have no right to representation by our government.
We don't want taxes but we want government services. The contradiction here is obvious.
