very positive move-- it is a plus for all neighboring communities as well.
Sounds good in theory, but I can't imagine how 4 BATmobiles will be able to effectively police 580,000 people and 77 tribes spread out across 7 states. I would have preferred for all those funds to be targeted toward the root of Native alcoholism....eliminate the despair and the poverty, create economic growth, educate the people, improve the health care.
Four vehicles to cover Indian Country, Hah! good Luck! Maybe the Police should just do their jobs better!
There's a old saying, can't remember where it came from but I digress,"the punishment doesn't fit the crime" One may ask; "Are we using an assault rifle to kill mosquitos here?. To this ole spud, that don't make any sense but thats just me!
This is no solution. It is pure desperation and states very clearly that all hope of Our people ever over coming this "demon" is void. It disheartens me and makes me extremely sad. This comes from a 42 year old Coast Salish man who has lost both parents and two siblings to alcohol. I personally do my best to be as healthy as possible.....someone is always watching. I pray for Our People.
