No Ice Climbing?
Bridal Veil Falls area, Little Cottonwood Canyon and canyons North of Odgen all have respectable ice climbs.
On a least a couple the approaches you might get to use your snow shoes.
Climb on!
I think ice climbing sounds pretty awesome.. I had no idea we had ice climbing in Utah.
Snowshoeing and Snowboarding does it for me...
Maybe it's just me but i find it a little strange that 2 of the three resorts that don't allow snowboarders in the entire world are located in Utah. If you talk to alta ownership they say it is strictly a business move. But if that is the case then why is it that snowbird(the resort directly below alta) sells so many more tickets?
I mean it's not a huge deal because IMHO all of the best resorts in utah do allow boarders..
Snowbird sells more tickets because of the sheer size of the resort, the tram, the money put into advertising and a whole host of other factors, not simply because they allow snowboarders. Snowbird is an awesome hill but Alta has found a niche the works for the them too. Nothing against snowboarders, but Alta does offer a different dynamic that I like due to the lack of them.
