Dumb Vote

"Two members of the committee voted against the measure, saying the bill unfairly focuses only on women"

What a dumb statement!

As long as there are legal avenues to abortion, this law should not be such a bad thing.

If abortion ever becomes illegal, this bill could have a lot of unintended consequences.

Most who advocate for making abortion illegal are willing to allow exceptions for rape, incest, or health/life of the mother. What if a woman seeks an abortion under one of those exceptions but then someone decides the situation was not as bad as she claims? (How much of a threat to the mother's life is enough? 75%? 80% What if her doctor told her there was a 83% threat, the cut-off is 80% and someone else examining the record determines it was only a 79% threat? Did she have an illegal abortion?)

Oh well

So much for getting government out of our lives.

Pagan

This girl PAID a man to beat her so badly she would loose the baby.

Before abortion was legal in the United States people would use rusty coat-hangers to try and abort children.

Rapist, murderers, incest, all reasons abortion should be legal.

I cannot see the logic as to why someone would be against this.

But that might be the flaw in my logic. Some arguments against abortion are not required to make sense.

I am pro-choice. Deal.

To Pagan

The ends justify the means.

saintmichaelpray

Pagan we could argue this topic for hours but i will save u from reapeating those sinfilled comments by just simply saying "God Bless You"
There are millions of Rosaries being prayed daily for this infanticied, for the mothers, for the doctors, and yes Pagan we do pray for you too!

VOR

better idea, lets focus on making sure that Abortion is safe and LEGAL and accessable to all who NEED it for what ever the reason is (because is a personal private matter between a woman and her doctor, not some jerkwade lawmaker, a woman and her doctor). Hows about that?

CougarKeith

The two that voted no were wrong, it focuses on men as well. The people who take the money should be JUST AS LIABLE! I AM AS "PRO-CHOICE" as they come, HOWEVER, the choice should ALWAYS be for LIFE! This is an unfair siding, "Pro-Life" or "Pro-Choice". The real sides are, "Legal Right To Murder A Unborn Human" or "Not Legal Right To Murder A Unborn Human"! That is basically what the whole thing is all about in 2009. The "Pro-Choice" is a nice way of saying, "I want to be able to kill an unwanted baby before it is born because I and my Lover were not responsible!" Saying, this pregnancy is a threat to the mother's life, or is a result of incest or rape, is something TOTALLY DIFFERENT! I KNOW IT, and Every Human Being with the RATIONAL TO THINK CLEARLY and not be SELFISH knows it! These are pretty much the "FACTS"! This is in part why Mit Romney took such a heavy blow from the Christian Coalition, they didn't UNDERSTAND his former stand on abortion, "Pro-Choice" but Always it should be for LIFE!

Ok, Pagan

"Rapist, murderers, incest, all reasons abortion should be legal."
Murderers? Really? If a woman is murdered, they've got bigger problems than having an abortion.
Your tirades are very badly worded and tiresome. Give it a rest.
I am pro-life. Deal.

Pro choice = The choice to committ Pre-meditated murder of an unborn child within the womb!

Pagan

Pro life = Every life is precious. Especially the ones I personally don\'t want to take care of.

Oh please can all you \"small government\" types tell me what else I can and cannot do with my own body... a woman is not an incubator. \r\n\r\nAnonymous, it’s an unborn fetus, not a child, learn the difference.\r\n

Comical

I have long found it perplexing that many who are pro-choice are also anti-death penalty. Explain, please, why the life of a known murderer, a very bad person who has brought so much pain and grief, should be protected while the life of an innocent baby shouldn\'t. Curious.

mark

A PERFECTLY legal procedure the US Supreme Court has ruled on TWICE.\r\nI fear your law will impact poor and young women, who may SUICIDE and take BOTH lives, if given no choices.

mark

RICH women have ALWAYS had access to nice safe clean abortions, they could travel to where abortions were legal, or bribe an expensive doctor to perform illegal abortions.\r\nNOTHING will ever stop a rich woman from abortions...NOTHING.

Re: Pagan

Pagan... \"Pro life = Every life is precious. Especially the ones I personally don\\\'t want to take care of.\"\r\n\r\nWhat a silly statement. Then use a condom, or don\'t have sex. Be responsible for yourself. Prevention, dear Pagan.\r\n\r\nAnd if you don\'t want to take care of the baby, there are tons of good couples out there that would love to take care of the baby.

RE: Anonymous

So if you think the fetus is not alive, then is it dead? \r\n\r\nA woman is an incubator... are you nuts? Why are there ovaries and a uterus? Just for looks?\r\n\r\nIf woman isn\'t an incubator, then don\'t be dumb enough to create something that starts to grow in the uterus.

"So much for getting government out of our lives." Hearing, statement and about tax and spend democrats from a Utahan shows how out of touch people are.

Pagan

'Then use a condom, or don't have sex.' - 2:20 p.m.

Wow. Show's how much you know about me. I am a gay man. I use a condom, only have one partner AND I have not ONCE contributed to a parentless baby!

Can heterosexuals make the same claim?

I doubt it.

As for:

'Why are there ovaries and a uterus? Just for looks?' - 2:25 p.m.

No. They are there for the WOMAN. Not for you. And not for some, made-up societal obligation to have children to 'support the species.'

'Women are SUPPOSED to have babies', what a foolish idea.

If you want to have a child, do so.

If not, take precautions.

If you have a 'mistake' (and people do apparently!) don't take it out on your spouse, the kid or anyone else.

A person should have the ability to dictate what happens with they're body. Not some fictitious 'moral' obligation.

yup

men making rules about the women...

must be Iran.
