Dobro

Seal the deal this weekend Robbie. See you in Seattle.

CougarKeith

This is great for local soccer fans! Too bad I'm just not one of them "YET". Keep up the good work Real Salt Lake!

Disastrous trade for LA

Yeah, they strip-mined that team in the year or so prior to LA arriving, and it took them until this season to work their way out of that with enough quality players to complement Landon and Beckham.

whoo hooo!!!!!!!!!!!

Howard S.

Soccer is American.
Soccer is already passing baseball up in popularity.
Soccer is the fastest growning sport period.
All you guys who run your mouths on soccer on all of the comment boards know I'm right, you hate it and thats fine because soccer is growing no matter what you say. Nuff Said.

Keep it up Robbie

He's had a great year. I doubt we can hold onto him much longer. As I understand it, his agent is already shopping offers. I don't think the MLS can compete (yet) with overseas money and prestige.

Good Luck on Sunday.

We're behind you.

AZCD Soccer Buzz?

I've been playing and watching soccer just about all my life. I have to admit that the MLS teams are still not up to the level of play of much of the club teams around the world but they are getting better and better and more importantly for the future of US soccer, becoming more entertaining to watch. Unfortunately I moved from SLC about 5 years ago so I have not been able to be as solid an RSL fan as I would like. Last year’s playoff run and now this year going to the MLS cup are very exciting. I'm wondering how it's playing in the SLC media? Is there a buzz about RSL or are collage football and the Jazz still dominant? I hope SLC sports fans can unite behind RSL. These guys are great athletes and deserve the support. GO REAL!

RSL

I really like our chances this weekend.. With RSL playing so aggressively i think we can outscore anybody in Major League Soccer.. I just hope the defense doesn't make us put 4 on the board.

Keep donovan and Beckham at bay and leave Edison Buddle wide open.. That should be our strategy.

come on kreis

Last game you started Yura and Findley and we barely got out of there alive. The 3 games before that it was Espindola and Findley and we dominated.

Yura is amazing off the bench!
come on kreis get it right!!!

Picked LA

I called LA winning it all. I am standing by that prediction. RSL is playing hot but there is no way they can stop the Donovan, Beckham combo.. I predict beckham will have a world class free kick and donovan will get a couple of assists.

3-1 LA

hey now

Let the real Howard S. comment before you bash him next time.. Just when one of them posts with a name on a regular basis you go and post as his name.. I'm an RSL fan btw..

I like it when Howard S. comments on this site..

Findley is playing hot but i dont think he is playing hot enough to go overseas. If he does he will be no different than freddy adu was after he left rsl.. Where is adu anyway???

If Findley was smart he would stay in the league a few more years and then make the trip overseas..

not sure

I'm thinkin this game will get big TV ratings.. Bigger than any other mls cup. Just by having David Beckham on the field i will bet you at least another million fans will be watching.

Let's represent who we are and where we come from. We can make our name known to people who didn't even know we exist! Let's Do it RSL!!!

thinking about it...

I'm thinking about purchasing season tickets next year.. I'm wondering if any of you know much about it. Like for example, will i get to go to any concerts in addition to rsl games? International friendlies? Are the tickets reasonably priced? Any help here will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

An extremely athletic family

Robbie findley has 3 cousins playing in professional sports in the united states. Mike Bibby, Eddie House, and Shaun Macdonald.(pittsburgh steelers) There was an article about him in the USA Today a little while back.. What's great about Robbie Findley is that he had a future in basketball and actually chose to play soccer.

gotta love it when the passion for a sport outweighs the lucrative life of money and fame..

This is why Robbie Findley is my 2nd favorite player on RSL.. Behind only The Jamaican Andy Williams..

An extremely athletic family

Just wanted to add that Shaun Macdonald of the pittsburgh steelers also loves soccer and plays Fifa soccer online with findley on occasion. haha

nerves

Howard S needs to stick to orange slices and hoping for a tie so that no ones feelings get hurt.

I know that money is a draw (obviously), but I think Donovan has proven that a young US player can stick around and still become an international name. MLS guys are getting a lot of chances to prove themselves on USMNT now. Why uproot your family to move to a place where the culture and language are completely different, and you have to prove yourself all over again, in hopes for a bigger contract? If you are putting the ball in the net and star on the international stage with the Nats the money will find you anyway.

GO REAL SALT LAKE!!

I wish I can see the game live at Seattle. I wish I can see the games at Rio Tinto Stadium. I am so glad Utahans has other sport to watch beside the Jazz games and car races. I will be cheering for my team from Cancun, Mexico.
I always knew that this was not going to be another disappointed season.
WE WILL BRING THE CUP TO SALT LAKE CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question

What is the salary of an average MLS player? Just curious....

Re: Question

MLS players make very very little money. The salary cap for a team is 2.8 million. Designated players make most of that money on a lot of teams. David Beckham is the highest paid with a 100 million dollar deal. The only reason he is being paid that much is because of sponsorship deals that were a part of coming to Major League Soccer..

Answer

MLS players don't make much money.. There are exceptions like beckham, Blanco, and Donovan. But just as a guess i would say the average would be about 100 grand..
