What a "HOOT"!!! It seems that every year there is some major lake, etc. in the state of Utah where they do a mass "killing" of what they classify as "trash fish" (if I am not wrong that includes some "Chubs"). It seems the chubs and their "trash buddies" push out and challenge the "game fish" for the food, the habitat and even eat/consume the smaller fry and juvenile game fish.
So earlier this year they release the endangered species "Virgin river Wound Fin Minnow" and now they release the Virgin River Chub. I guess they release the minnows first so they can be food for the Chubs?
Something seems wrong??
