Good luck boys, take state for the south. Let it all go on the cold field. Give JD a game this weekend they will remember.

There goes JD again, running off at the mouth. Humility? What's that?

It is just some loser trying to stir things up. He wrote the same thing on the JD story but to the opposite team.
The Official | 9:12 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
HHS has a balanced backfield against marginal teams; running against JD will pose a new set of problems that you have not faced this year. JD has a balanced offensive running and passing attack that will challenge your "D". There has not been a team in Utah that was able to stop them.
JD defense is of championship caliber, and defense wins STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

you won the game last year by one kick! dont act like you stomped all over hurricane. Well see what plays out on Friday good luck to both teams
Did it matter | 11:07 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
to you if it was one kick or 3 touchdowns? it was a win for JD and HHS lost...
lets move on to this Friday night... best of luck to all state final teams
Hurricane | 11:30 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
Hurricane is not a small school. They have been in the discussion of moving to 4A because there numbers are so high. And I have seen both teams play and JD defense will win this for them.
HHS | 11:31 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
HHS remember to carry yourselves with the same swagger and classiness that you have exhibited throughtout the season this year. Your ability to maintain discipline and take care of business on the field has gained you the support of many. Stay focused on your assignments and execute the way you have been taught and you will be fine. You have been there now so take it to the next level, Good Luck

All of region 12 in the heart of Utah is pulling for you Hurricane!! Delta, Emery, Juab...we want to see a small southern school get a win over a private school. Get em Tigers!!
re hurricane | 12:15 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
830 kids. 4a cutoff is 1000 kids. Just curious, have you been involved in any of these so called discussions? God bless america, we let anyone speak.
Thank you  | 12:46 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
for letting us speak? your kidding right?
JD has 602, so what school is the smaller of the two? HHS has more student body to pull players from that are enrolled in your school, why not go to 4-A?
HHS has the same success (other than 3-A Champ) how come the move up class to 4-A isnt being tossed around like it is for JD?
Classification is based on student enrollment, not from the general population of a region.
FYI | 1:39 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
Private school equals recruitment. JD has that priviledge while HHS does not. Both schools have talent and excellent coaches. So what matters is that each team plays to their best and congrats to the winner.
Re: Thank you | 2:08 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
As of Ocotber 1, 2009 Hurricane High School had 800 students and the cutoff for 4-A is 1000. The reason HHS isn't in the talks about moving up is because they are well under the cutoff. They get their students from families living in their area. As was mentioned, HHS has lost several good athletes who's families moved to St. George.
Where as JD student's (athletes) come from wherever they want to take them. And, if the student (athlete) can't afford the fare, they are given grants (or whatever you want to call them) so they can attend (play). You can color it any way you want to but JD and other private schools have the advantage in being able to recruit.
Let it be said that JD has great coaches and a great football atmosphere as well as quality education, but no more so than other successful schools (football teams). Give any team in southern Utah the pick from just southern Utah students (athletes) and JD would loose every time in every sport. There's the advantage.

You cannot be serious!!!

If that is really your justification than an attemp to educate you on the subject is indeed futile!!
In California | 6:13 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
the private schools were put into their own league because they would recrute the top players. Each starter had there own coach and the $$$ spent on their equipment was huge. The best kids would go there because they were given scolerships 9 out of 10 times. They were given personal tutors to do their home work.
Not an even playing field but the Tigers will overcome.
Laffin | 4:04 p.m. Nov. 18, 2009
Yup that says it all Re: Thankyou @ 2:08
re: California | 4:13 p.m. Nov. 18, 2009
that's in California I wish my kid was getting all those benefits. A private coach to go with the private education. WOW maybe we should all go to LA. It would kind of suck to play Judge 12 times since they are the only other private school, in 3A. NOW DOES THAT REALLY SOUND FAIR TO YOU
