Southern Utah Player | 9:54 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
I'm glad some people can recognize who some of the real players are. Linemen don't get credit from anyone but the coaches. I also play D-line and love this article. Some of the best players on the team are offensive and defensive linemen.

Mad props to the Bingham D-line for a great year and helping their team reach the state title. Good luck to you guys.

about 2/3 of the comments I heard from the players and coaches about Bingham before and after the Alta game were about how tough their D line is. There are a few players in the state that compare, but nobody has three guys like this who are dominant. Nice article.

I personally think lineman make or break a team. If you have a good back but a bad line he is essentially worthless. D lineman putting pressure on a QB can throw a team's offense off greatly and that's where I think the term defense wins championships originated from. Davis and bingham's lines are both phenomenal. Bingham is bigger but Davis had great speed, especially at the ends in Hinds and Kariya. If Davis' line can open up some holes for Hinds and Keaton then I think Davis has a chance. I think playing Hunter last week will prepare them for the size and strength of Bingham. I hope this game is a goo one.

Wanna hear something scary? They are all juniors!!!
plyxply | 8:16 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
oh great.....another year of them is going to be brutal on O lines. I agree, the line makes or breaks any team, if you can't block it doesn't matter who your rb is.
Bingham Junior Class | 9:13 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
I want to preface this by saying, "I hate Bingham." That being said, the junior class at Bingham is probably the most talented class, at any one high school, in utah high school football history.

From the time they were 8, their A team lost once. Their B teams didn't lose much more, and were usually winning championships. They never lost in the Las Vegas tournament, which they played in almost every year. I hate Bingham, but you think they're good this year, wait until next year.
Thanks to manti | 9:28 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
Thanks manti for giving us one of your D-linemen. He is one good football player. A year ago he was playing in the 2A state game now. He will be playing in the 5A state game. The kid can play football. Have a good game this week D- line

We cannot forget the coaches at Bingham. Coach Peck is the biggest reason why those men are not only good football players but just as important they are good kids at home and school and everything they do. I think this is why Bingham will always have a successful season. The boys know what is expected of them on and off the field and they do it. Thanks again Coach!
re:Bingham junior class | 9:54 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
Alta's sophomore class is very similar to that. I don't think their A team gave a up a touchdown in a two or three year span. Their Ateam won several championships and their B teams were great too. Unfortunately, the junior class this year isn't near as good. There will be a lot of juniors starting for Alta next year.
re: Bingham Junior Class | 10:22 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
They are definitely a group of talented players. I did get to see their consistant winning (all but one - fluke against Viewmont). However, we are not looking at next year but right NOW. We have a game to win this Friday!!! Go Miners - FINISH IT!!
RIGHT HERE!! - RIGHT NOW!!

So why dod you hate Bingham? I would be interested in knowing your reason.
Alta Sophs | 11:02 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
The Sophomore group at Alta is unbelievable. One loss for the A team in 6 years and that was a double OT thriller. This year they pummelled all opponents including Bingham and Riverton. There were only a few games where the 35 point rule was not instituted. This group combined with the 10 or so sophs that played up will be scary good as as seniors and will be very competitive with Bingham's team next year too when about half of them will be starting. Count on it.

re: Bingham Junior class | 11:14 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
Those three Linemen talked about in the article didn't play for Bingham in little league. Two of them played for West Jordan and the other Played for Copper Hills.

RE: re: Bingham Junior class | 11:14 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009

Funny how things change. Refresh my memory, where did the CH Defensive LB and leading tackler play as a Soph? What about your star WR? Yep.... Bingham. Where did Tyrone (Alta star WR #10) play little league? Yep... Bingham.

I like how people bring up kids that moved to SJ or transferred to Bingham but forget how many they lose.
Former D-Lineman of Bingham | 12:11 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
Mad props to the three Poly Sotias up front. Down in the trenches is where it all begins. Its was an honor for me to play alongside Kes an Mo Mo last season. Seni is just a beast out there on the feild. The 3 of them make a deadly combo. Bring home the gold Sotias. Do what we couldn't. My prayers are with you all the way in IDAHO!
RE: Former D Lineman of Bingham | 2:21 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
Malie Lehi I know thats you.....lol....So I'll just continue going off of what you said. Mad props to the poly sotias up front and everyone else and good luck this week.

Glad to see Moses and Seni doing so well. My brother and I coached them both at WJ up to age 13. Great kids. They used to go at each other like crazy in practice, neither one wanted to lose to the other in any line drills we did. We had to pull them apart more than once.

I also had Inoke Taufalele (Bingham fans will know who he is, the rest of the state will next year) on that WJ team and Bingham was the only team we could never beat in little league. Never scored on them as a matter of fact. Tons of talent in that group.

All these kids come from great families, and I'm glad to see they are having such success. Good luck guys, from your old WJ coaches.

Coach,
Why didn't they go to WJ High?
Why not go to bingham? and | 4:52 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
because why would yo go to wj, and play for that team when obviously binghams program will get you to Big time college schools and has the best support of any community of the state and has the best field in state, why else would you not go to bingham??

Junior class is so good, talkin to some big name coaches at bingham, they all talk about next year and year after, Binghams defense is losing 2 guys, anderson and another db, #91 is 15 year old that is 6'3 220 runnning a 4.5 on defense, oh and best running back who is also that big is junior and the whole state saw how good cantwell can be against alta wait till they run wildcat next year with him and langi.... WOWOWOWOWOWO good luck anytone who can stop anything bingham has next year and will be defending there title,
Davis running back is not going over 100 yards this week, mark my words!
D-line vs Alta | 5:22 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
While the defensive scheme focused on containing Alta's passing game, this D-line managed to put pressure on the QB all day long and contain Alta's running game (about 54 yards on 35 carries or so). Alta's o-line is a pretty good unit so this was not an easy feat. Congrats to the d-line on a really fine game. We need it one more time - keep up the good work!
Article should be BigTime O-line | 4:18 p.m. Nov. 18, 2009
These kids are great!! I don't believe Davis can watch the Alta film and not be sweating about how they are going to block these guys. Alta's #62 is a giant and had all he could handle with Seni and Moses, there was one play at the end of the game, yep, the end of the game when kids are supposed to be running out of gas right and Seni was bull rushing him like a rag doll, with a bad arm no less. Good luck Davis but you don't know what's coming, Davis has not played against a defense this good.
