So, most of the time I hear QB's defending the O-Line like their own mother. Most QB's are fiercely loyal to their O-Line and that loyalty is paid back in spades.

Guess Max never got the memo.

Max states, "A couple of guys were nicked up. I was proud of how they battled. It wasn't the offensive line's best performance. I wouldn't trade those guys for the world. I think they're going to battle and they're going to recover from it and do what they have to do. But they know it, that they could have played a little bit better."

Huh? Sounds to me like he's throwing them under the bus, then reconsidering, then backing up and throwing them under the bus again.

If Hall keeps this up Hall may spend the next FB games looking up at the sky while flat on his back.

You have no idea what the discussion was between Max and his O-Line. Maybe they admitted they didn't play well and apologized and have themselves admitted openly it was no their best game. Read all the articles before you start throwing stones.

Max has had better games himself. as far as the state suppported school, they are always 'talking about what they are 'gunna do'. Just like at TCU. the gunna's had their lunch eaten for them.
RE: Sam | 8:16 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
Could you sound just a little bit more imature, If the cougars beat Utah this year in Provo it will be three out of the last four for the cougars. AGAIN and AGAIN. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
to Sam | 8:18 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
I am glad BYU only has to play the Utes once - they sound really scary.

On the other hand, I am very pleased to know the cougs are guaranteed 2 games against the utes in basketball - maybe 3 if they are lucky.

I hope Unga can get healthy soon.

Sam said the Utes would beat TCU.

Beatdown.

You saw the movie about Sam, right? ... be nice to him.
To Sam: | 9:40 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
"Utah will NEVER lose again?" and "BYU will NEVER win again"?

Seriously, quit playing on your itouch during school and get back to your school work. Maybe you can learn a thing or two.

I feel so bad for Hooks. Hope he gets well soon. From busting heads of water balloon throwers to stud LB. Best of luck, Hooks!

I am inclined to hope that some of the comments on this site are recorded by enthusiastic but VERY young U fans. I mean young enough to let their enthusiasm overwhelm their common sense. Also, their spelling is "youthful", to use a nice word. So, I suppose the next generation of BYU haters is being replenished, however, it would be refreshing if they found ways to support their program other than bad mouth the cougs. Some children mature slowly, and never seem to get it.

Yesterday on one of the talk stations I heard a U fan express his "hatred" for BYU. What a waste of emotion and energy to "hate" something as general as an institution which has done nothing except help raise the standard of both universities, and vice-versa. I wonder about the maturity of some of those few people, fortunately a small few.

Best wishes... | 10:41 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
...to Terrance Hooks for a successful surgery and a full and speedy recovery. Thank you for playing for BYU and sacrificing your safety and health for our entertainment giving us many great opportunities to cheer for the Cougars!

BYU this year has been a Jekyl and Hyde act. I am a forever BYU fan but i am sick of what seems to be their one on one off type performances this year... Oh and Max, if you are listenig, If you do't start making better decisions you won't even be concidered when it comes to the next level...

Utah just remember one thing,"Harline is still open".
re Anonymous | 11:13 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
BYU remember our "entire defense is open" especially Robert Johnson

Anonymous 10:52, knock it off.

I feel for Hooks. His injury is one I don't hear about much. Is it uncommon? Then to have it happen to both knees almost a couple years apart. What happened to cause the injury in the game? The play in which he was hurt he was running and had no contact. He just went down.

To: let's face it

You, sir, are the truest example of a fickle fan. Please try to be upbeat and thankful for the great things the Cougar football team has done. They are awsome, both on and off the field.

I like the long moment of silence at the end of your post.

All I know that while watching the game last Saturday, I was underwhelmed at how we played. I was never confident we would win. Now I learn of the injuries to the whole team and have some understanding and actually feel impressed at the team.

Hope for the team to be healed and up for the AFA. They will bring their A game. Their coaches will have them prepared for the Y. I hope our Coaches can do the same.
YEA, | 2:25 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
Starting a tight end at o-line is probably pretty tough on a team....just ask Oklahoma. See what it does for their team. Except their tight end is a little older.
Kyle | 5:18 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009

Maybe the oline needs more help from former BYU lineman Jason Scukanec. He knows what goes on with the couger oline...

They're big boys, they know what's expected of them, they know whether they did a good job against the Lobos or not, and they can handle the criticism.

Unlike the clueless whiners on this blog who are obsessed with picking every nit,

I'm sure Max had legitimate points that challenged the O'line to pick up the pace.
