Smart Guy !! | 8:18 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
Deron has always proved that he is not just physically talented but also that he is very intelligent and understands the game on a higher level.

Do not forget that Deron has been talkin up these rookies from the beginning. And what do you know ??
He seemed to be ontop of the Kirilenko thing and also the Boozer madness as well.

Bottom line I just think we are lucky to have a guy like him. Do not get me wrong I still think he has a little maturing to do. But overall we are very lucky...

For a little bit, I was wondering if D-Will's "control" of the game was hurting the team. With the rookie duo in charge the last two games, I got to thinking that maybe D-Will slows things down too much.

Then I realized several times during the Cleveland game that if D-Will had been there at those times, running the team, the Jazz would've won it! The team made a number of bonehead mistakes in several possessions that sunk their chances. D-Will's leadership would've made the difference.

So, glad to see he's back. I won't doubt him anymore. Maybe his seing the game from TV has given him some ideas.

This team is going to take awhile to gel, but when it does (sans key injuries), watch out the West!

You talk chemistry and lack of it, I believe D Will dogs his team to much and they are not a unit because he does not encourage them, the rookies made it fun and you could tell all the players were having fun..maybe D Will needs to take a chill pill

Press in love with rookies! | 9:56 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009
What a laugh....the rookies made it fun! It was something different, but fun? The press is all over the rookies, it's something to write about, but let's see what happens in the long run! These rookies are fighting for a place on the team right now so they have to work their butts off! Will they keep up that intensity? Who knows if they have it....too early to tell! Let's get a little reality check here!

Hoory it worked for one game!!!

We have not seen back to back team efforts like we saw in Philly and then Cleveland.

First of all WE NEVER blow a team out on the road and hold the lead.

WE DID in PHILLY. Deron was there for the Knick game and the team collapsed down the stretch and nearly lost the game.

Then in Cleveland on the 2nd of a back to back which historically has been a total laydown cowardly event for our sissy players. What? We came back from 16 down?

Since when does this team EVER come back after they get 16 down? And especially on the road in a back to back!

The team does not do these things when Deron is there.

I'll qualify a couple of my statements with the fact I believe Deron was injured significantly in the Houston game. That was clear when he walked the ball up the floor repeatedly.

Same thing happened last year when he came back from his ankle injury..he walked it up the floor, early offense/hustle were instantly gone and we lost multiple games because of it.

Questions have to be asked though. Why better effort with Deron out?

Just read an article on ESPN about he number of top quality free agents available. This list includes past all-stars like Marbury, Iverson, Bruce Bowen and Jerry Stackhouse. Why don't the Jazz take a chance on one of these guys??? From what we've seen so far this season, it doesnt look like the Jazz have any chace of a Championship this season with their current roster. Boozer's summer madness didn't help, but on top of that Boozer, Millsap and Okur are all doing the same job (no need for all three). A player like Jerry Stackhouse and maybe defensive-minded reserve would be good additions to the team. We're losing Boozer in the summer, AK is gone in a year too, we need to take some chances with this roster for the last time before rebuilding around DWill and Millsap over the next few years!

Have to ask:

Answer
Andrei Kirilenko

The more the Jazz run the offense through Andrei the better the team is. That is why this season when he is sitting on the bench the Jazz have been outscored -43 point in 11 games. Considering he has been on the floor all but 117 minutes that is an astounding 1 point every 2.7 minutes AK is on the bench.

The more AK has the ball the better the Jazz are. The biggest mistake is the Jazz NEVER set screens for AK.

Do you ever watch basketball?? Over the years whether people believe it or not there has been alot of opportunities for young guys to come in and make their mark. Let me tell you most of them do not.

But these two are different. These guys are good for our team. Given more time I think they can really help. Scratch that , they are helping.. Someone would have to be an blind to not see it.

You know sometimes I wonder what people care about more , the success of the team or their precious opinions ??

I agree with your response, at least in part, as I am a believer in the AK effect also.

That said I am not sure that explains the total team effort. Just because AK touches the ball does not suddenly make everyone play harder.

Deron has a plus rating while he is on the floor too.

I think the AK + effect is as much that when he is off the floor this team has absolutely ZERO defense and the opposition knows it is time for their layup drill to begin. Booz and Okur are two of the softest bigs in the NBA and they are incapable of blocking a shot and everyone in the league knows it.

They stop nothing and when AK goes out it is like Mardi Gras for the other team in the paint.

It is shameful and embarrassing.

that is so much "garbago" I like AK as a player when he hustles, diminished "cherry picking" and does not force bad shots under the baskets or 3s when not needed, or careless turnovers on the sideline (see Miami game last year the biggest play that helped turn the season around to destroy that team).

The other night AK is watching for cutters, playing in the middle, anticipated help d. and just off to the side there stands another "shooter" ready to take a pass and "unleash" an open "3"

Interesting note, last year the jazz won 5 in a row to start the season. As soon as Deron came back, we dropped a number of games. Then managed to turn it back around. Same thing this year, played well when D Will is out. Maybe some kind of psychology thing? When D Will is out the team plays hard to compensate? Im not saying trade D Will, but its interesting. We will finish off this month 6-1.

Williams if you got offered to play for the Lakers, Bulls or the Celtics how long would it take you to pack?
anonymous II | 6:10 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
Any truth to the rumor that Williams was actually sent home by Sloan for problems in the locker room? All inside sources are pointing in that direction. Interesting the carte blanc being given this diva
todd to anonymous II | 7:09 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
why would this be printed? talking about starting trouble unnecessarily and then will not back it up with proof. Whether he was sent home or not "who cares" he is back now....Again, this comes back to my points that I feel for the "time being" Jerry could go back to calling the plays out of the 1/2 court offense. Stock never had a problem, and if DWIL does what is "best" for the Jazz he will adhere to. Besides, Dan Marino, John Elway could always change the play at discretion when reading the defense...

I would rather watch Stackhouse on NBA TV then see him play again-he is done, good try but bad idea

Hey todd you better shut up sometimes, get too hot.
