We were in the first car that Mr. Taylor hit around 53rd south. We were surprised at being bumped twice by his car while traveling at freeway speed. We were fortunate to be able to get over to the right. As he passed us, we all looked at him...but he just stared straight ahead, showed no emotion or recognition of us and just sped up until he hit the next car in his path...a mini van with a mom and 5 children under the age of 5. We pulled over to be with that van as Mr. Taylor sped on. That van sustained much more damage than we did. Fortunately, all were physically fine...just shaken up.

I hope to learn the true medical facts. But I agree with the article. I believe it was a medical condition that had come over Mr. Taylor...perhaps a stroke as stated. That makes sense.

Our condolences are extended to the Taylor family. My personal prayers and thoughts are with you durng this time. I am grateful no one else was hurt...but sad that an apparent good man, a good father's life was taken prematurely.

I knew Sheldon back in the day at Novell. A classy guy always. Didn't know about the cancer. Sad to hear about this. Rest in peace, my friend.

I do not know you or the Taylor family but you r post really touched my heart. Thank you for giving me hope that there are still good people in this world that seems so full of hate and unnecessary rancor these days. I hope we can all take a page from your book. My thoughts also go out to the Taylor family during this difficult time.

Condolences to his family and all who were affected by this tragedy.

We are glad to see something printed by news media to begin to "clear the air" so-to-speak regarding this story. Knowing what we do of Sheldon there is not and never was a doubt in our minds that what caused the accidents and his death was completely out of his control. This gentle giant would never intend harm to another. Such a good man. We were growing frustrated at the reporting of a "reckless driver”, since we know this is inaccurate and therefore irresponsible reporting. We have learned to be less judgmental about incidents, especially where we don’t know all the facts. I am sure many traveling the freeway were inconvenienced by the events Friday afternoon, but none suffer now as does his family. Please keep them in mind. I pray that those who thought anything unkind about Sheldon have a sincere change of heart. God bless his family at this most difficult time.

OK, so there never was any doubt in your minds about the accident. Do you have any medical evidence?

It's nice you're able to get the news media to print your angle, but I notice the UHP hasn't confirmed it and no one who is saying he had a stroke is offering any medical evidence that backs it up.
Reckless is reckless | 6:02 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
Even if it is the result of a possible medical condition. That's not irresponsible reporting, that's a fact. Plus, the medical condition angle is just as much speculation as anything else that was posted. Wait for the final report. Nothing has been proven.

I can't believe how many horrible things people can say about someone they've never met. Everyone else in the accident was fine. No one else died. Have some compassion. A family lost a husband and father. Think if that was your family. Show some respect. If you were the driver of that vehicle, and died, would you want the entire state of Utah saying you were reckless and on a rampage to take lives? I highly doubt it.
