21 years ago when my first & (only child) was born I lost 30 pounds the first 3-4 days after he was born in the hospital. I weighed 124 pounds, was 5' 4" tall so I only had 10 more to lose after that, which was no problem. I was 32 years of age at the time.

I fed him off / on after the usual 6 - 9 month time, weaning him = usual solid foods, baby food items, crackers, juice, etc., by time he was a year old.

Never weighed more than 125 pounds max. afterward. Have been around 115-120 (more or less) so yeah I can vouch for it helping to keep myself trim, doing normal chores, housework & staying active in sports also helps too.

Duh!!! Mothers put on extra weight while pregnant to ensure they have the reserves to feed their child. Mother nature has done a marvelous job.
