FINALLY! They got those dirty kidnapper off the streets and into prison where SHE BELONGS! In my opinion she is the most evil person That I ever heard about! She kidnapped a little child and brain washed her. She had her very identity taken from her as dhe was taken from her home all those years ago!

um ... She was not on the streets ...
It will be good to get some closure on this thing.

From reports I have read , Barzee is trying to repent. Taking responsibility for what she did is one of those steps. That is what probably spurred this action.

This was the decent thing to do. Thank you for sparing Elizabeth and her family the ordeal of a trial. This is a big step in making restitution, which can never be complete, but at least intended.

"Jacob Baker" 1:39 p.m...........Wow, you must not have heard of too many evil women. E. Smart's identity and dignity is intact, no doubt with some lasting scars emotionally and mentally....but she will do fine - she has proven she has endured for which so many of us are so thankful.

Jacob,

Mental illness could make short work of turning YOU into the most evil person you ever heard about.

Mike Pratt needs to take note of this guilty plea.

I'm with you FINELY they got these people off of the streets. How long did they let them get away with this. I am surprised that the media has not covered this story very much at all.

Justice system is working | 3:10 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
It looks to me like the anti-psychotics are working, and Ms. Barzee is ready to face up to what she's done, while at the same time helping make a case against her husband, who is the true predator in this case. Ms. Barzee has suffered, and will likely face a little more punishment, but if testifying against her husband helps lighten her punishment a little, both justice AND mercy will have won in this case. Who would have known, all those years ago when Elizabeth was still missing, that she would live to become a healthy, well-adjusted young woman and that both of her kidnappers would see justice?

Mitchell has been such a destructive force in a lot of peoples lives...he is a very selfish person. I believe that Elizabeth was abused the worst. May God bless her all of her life.

Mitchell abused Ms Barzee with his self proclaimed evil intentions. That could be another story to hear. He is sick and has spread the sickness around. Elizabeth is strong of spiritual goodness. Ms. Barzee was weak and influenced by Mitchell to do evil. Again, the creator of the plan was Mitchell. I don't think that he is incompetent. In my view, he is an actor.

Barzee is feeling a buzz. She's in loopy land caused by being over medicated. Of course she will say what ever they want her to.

I have worked with the mentally ill and still do. The sad thing is that most of them are used as guinnea pigs to try different combinations of meds. It looks like they are doing the same to her.

I believe this woman IS a victim of Mitchell. She is now lucid enough to understand what happened and what she did. I feel sorry for her, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have some responsiblity for what happened. She is clearly repentant and is trying to do what's right. Fortunately, God will judge just how accountable she is. I hope she can continue to get help and is kept where she can't do any more harm to herself or anyone else.

Jacob;; Where have you been?? These people have not been on the streets for quite a few years now

We want and should be able to have them both. Proof of Kidnapping and Crossing State Lines is easy. Regardless of her mental state she is accountable for her actions.

On the other Hand we want Mitchell More, a lot more. If they have to give up some of Barzee to get Mitchell then so be it.

Ed, Liz and we seem to forget the little sister who was in the room when this happened. They should all have a say in this.

The younger sister went through a lot also.

Mostly this has taken far to long with far more concern about Mitchell and Barzee's rights then need be.

If Mitchell goes into his disrpting the Court sound effects act, then just put him in a sound proof booth.

There was a Chapel in My Stake in Las Vegas that had a sound proof room right behind the Chapel Seats. Worked out very well. Service went on they could hear us we could not hear them. That room sat maybe 3o people.

She certainly was not an evil person during all the years I knew her growing up. Mental illnes can change everything. Hopefully you are someone you love is never affected by it. Last time a checked both Barzee and Mitchell have been off the streets since Elizabeth was found and Elizabeth has gone on with her life, and from all indications has become a lovely, strong, and capable young woman. She may be a different person than she would have been had none of this happened, but that doesn't mean she no longer has an identity. In fact, I'm sure there are times she would like to be identified a little less.

Yes, let's not forget that Mitchell had Wanda brainwashed because of his abuse toward her. I hope the court takes that into consideration when giving out their sentence.

Wow i just feel bad for Elizabeth Smart. My prayers are with you! Barzee and Mitchell are obviously crazy physo-paths. You wouldn't think so though, she looks like such a sweet lady, though also kind of creepy. well, i hope she gets judged fairly, and realizes what she has done so she can repent! but really, why wait until your that old to kidnap and sexually assult somebody? i dont understand why she is getting medicated so much. Atleast Heavenly Father knows the truth and what she deserves.

It appears to me that Barzee's life was changed for the worse through her association with Mr. Mitchell.
I'm glad that she is taking responsibility for her actions and righting what wrongs she can.
We often think about how hard it would be for your daughter to be abducted, but as a parent of adults, I think how hard it would be for my child to be the perpetrator.

Your comment is interesting. May have some truth to what you say. Mental illness can tear away fasods and boundrys from around a person, letting the world know who they really are when there are no perseaved logical rules. It would be interesting for every one to have a dose of mental illness, then we would see who each other are.

I disagree with Re: David 2:21. I believe that mental illness masks and distorts who a person really is. I believe that medication frees the person from chemical demons and that the true essence of the person can be seen.
