Some sportswriters have said Belichick's decision was a slap in the face of his entire defense. What a crock! It was a good call. Caught between turning the ball over to Payton Manning by punting with 2:00 still remaining on the clock, or taking a chance on retaining possession and keeping the ball out of Payton's hands entirely, Belichick's decision showed a lot of respect for Payton Manning, not disrespect for his defense!

not a bad call | 2:16 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
He played his teams biggest strength against the Colts biggest weakness. I think it was a good call and some blame should go to Tom Brady.

Faulk should of should of got 3 yards then there would never been a question if he got the first down!!!

Gutsy gamble, and I'm impressed he was willing to make it. More coaches need to go for more often on 4th down. Statistics back it up, I understand. Especially in a league with high-powered offenses.

See, here's my question: if it was a good decision this time, why isn't it a good decision EVERY time? Again, any doubters should hunt down the statistics. There was an interesting article on it in DMN just a week or two ago.

Say what you want... It was dumb. He gambled and lost the game.
That being said, the Pats shouldn't have EVER let it get that close. They had the Colts down.
