He was such a good missionary. I don't know what happened.

Um, he made a series of really bad mistakes with a minor? Nothing "happened" to him, he did it to himself.

Here is a tip:

When finding yourself with the phone # of a 15 year old and you are 26 ask yourself the following questions:

1. Do I like possibly going to jail?
2. Do I want to let down my employer?
3. Do I want to embarrass my family?

Hint, you should answer all 3 as No and stay away from minors.

He had unlawful sexual relations with a minor. Anything else I can explain for you?

Always check ID.

I'd say he is a sexual dirt bag and should be strung up by his fingernails. I'm sure she knew better, which does not excuse her choice to get involved, but he was an adult and knew better. I hope he's put away with all the other sickees..but the unfortunate thing is that we, the taxpayers, have to pay to keep him alive. Maybe they should pass a law that he be desexed(kind way of describing it) so he can't do this again. Good idea!!!

As far as has been reported,he was not a missionary, he was a United States Marine.
Either way not very good.
I just have to wonder what your motivation is for your comment.
Do you go on and bash mormons on every story? regardless of what the story is about?

re: anonymous | 3:33 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009,

He is in the Marines now, but he served an honorable mission in South Carolina. Know your facts before you post please.

I once saw a billboard in another state I was traveling in that said, "Sex with a Minor is a Major Crime".

Maybe we need some billboards like that here.

Actually Trevor never did serve a mission but he did honorably and courageously serve this country in several tours of duty. I have known Trevor for many years and attended school with him, he was and is a good friend. We all wish him the best in this most unfortunate and sad situation. He knew better, he is better.

Utah is famous for two types of crime...sex crimes with minors, and financial crimes usually involving members of their church. However, as a former Marine I can tell you that Marines don't check ID....if she looks old enough she "is". He was just stupid...nothing more than that....his brains were located below his waist.

I don't care if this guy was a missionary or a marine, he has brought incredible shame on his family and I hope they can understand that this isn't any fault of theirs. This is all on him and I hope the punishment meets the crime and in my opinion pedophilia is one of the most serious crimes. Hopefully he'll plead guilty and save his family the embarrassment and stress of a trial. Not to mention the girl and her family.

Re: Anonymous 3:33...I have no doubt that blog was posted by a troll who was trying to be nasty and start a fight.

To Cats,

Why all the hostility?

Michael Johnson,

I'm sorry to inform you that Trevor Hooper did not honorably serve his county, yes he deployed overseas, but that does not mean he was an asset. Sleeping on the job, picking fights, and eating Pop Tarts does not deserve praise.

He may have been a good friend to you in high school, but he was not a good friend or person while he was in the Marine Corps. Hooper is someone that is able to "work the system" and has gotten away with a lot of stuff. You may think that having sex with a 15 year old girl is the only thing he has done wrong, but it's not; it's just the only serious thing he has been reprimanded for.

I wish I could say that there was hope for him and that he might change for the better, but I honestly believe that he is a deplorable human being. Hooper does not care about anyone or anything. He's exactly where he should be. Jail.
