Yes, I noticed her accent right a way and could not figure out how she came about doing it. I think she over did it. If she would have spoken with more of an educated manner, and did not depend on her children as props and the "winkin and blinkin" show she may have done better in her bid.
I might be a hick but me thought the way she talked was very refreshing, and oh I hope that there were no federal dollars financing this research project. Me also thinks that we should get these researchers to come to Southern Utah and study why some people say "harse" instead of "horse". What a joke. Money spent doing research like this could be better used.
basically Sarah is a hick and speaks like a hick . I think we all know that by now/
She may have done better by utilizing Standard English, but her viewpoints were at least as bizarre as her dialect.
i have been wonderin why the people who are hatin sarah spend so much time talkin about the way she talks as well as her writin and what she is readin as if what anybodys business to know.
it must be because she is such a farsighted person in the way that she knows about things she can see from her house as well as goin shopin while she was visitin and speakin to all those poeple.
i know she is standin strong for conservatives in our country as well as givin a shout out to all the other things it is important to be for.
i know i will be votin for sarah next time she is runnin or doin somethin you know good for all of us.
Whose words ring in a tone more resonating of what conservatives sound like today? When you think of conservatives images of intellectualism don't come to mind. Conservative and solution seems and disconnected as science and superstition. When we hear:"I think, therefore, I am, Ren Descartes comes to mind and not Sarah Palin.
Even though this article highlighted research about Former-Governor Palin's speech patterns, such research is invaluable to law enforcement. Rarely can a person hide his or her native speech patterns. Pinpointing a person's speech pattern can help identify criminal suspects. Such use of linguistics is widely used by the CIA. I'm glad the government pays for this kind of research with our tax money!
Now if we could just determine exactly WHAT she intended to say during her campaign speeches then we might be on to something. I personally found it insulting to anyone with an IQ over room temperature.
Grammer is a lost art in america, no one knows how to use it and acronyms are the new language. Most young people have no idea of how to spell and use grammar as it has been defined. Even spell checkers on PC's can't get it right and this is why we have reporters and news media, and politicians that can't get it right. Proof reading has been replaced with faulty PC programming.
How Palin or any politician talks is immaterial, even the seasoned orchestrated speeches of Obama are riddled with deception and misuse of language.
Obama's purpose is to deceive, while Palin uses language we can understand.
Why this article deserves any comments is a waste of time.
