I thought it would be closer. I'm trying to remember if Utah has ever been out of a game with Whittingham.

I understand why their (TCU) ranked #4 in the nation. Great team with classy fans, good luck TCU, you make the MWC proud.

Just look at yesterday.

Get used to it. Unless we can get to a real conference TCU will rule the MWC for the next decade. We're kinda feeling like Boise State - stuck in a confernce full of losers.

UTAH had won the previous 3 games against TCU. I am happy with 3 out of 4 now. TCU is the read deal. They are awesome and good luck to TCU in the BCS.

Being a Frog fan and seeing the Utes rise to win most years, I was not buying the line. The Utes will go to a good bowl with hopefully a worthy opponent. Great young players on both sides. The next few years will be great games.

by TCU, Ute fans should be happy with the general direction of the program over the past 7 years. A 67-18 record, 3 conference titles, 7 bowl victories including to BSC bowl wins and a 4-2 record against BYU. We simply lost to one of the best teams in the country during our rebuilding year. Mark my words, Utah will beat TCU in SLC next year. Whit will have the boys ready.

Its been a long time since they've been dominated under Whitt like this. Boise State did it pretty bad to us on their BCS year. But we've never been destroyed in the 1st half. Against Vegas it was close until the 4th.

Anyways, TCU is GREAT. We need to bounce back from this one....

If TCU runs the table they will accomplish what Utah has already accomplished twice.
BCS Championship or Bust | 11:55 a.m. Nov. 15, 2009
I was very impressed by TCU yesterday. I hope they do the MWC justice and make it to the BCS Championship game. Otherwise the whole BCS system should be exposed as a fraud and a playoff system created so that teams can actually prove they are deserving of the championship that is appointed to them just because of opinion polls.

First - thanks for all the kind words of support and good wishes from many of you folks as we try to show - just like a great Utes team did last year when they stomped the Tide - that the BCS is a sham. In fairness, we were two missed field goals away in Utah from being in that position last year. So you lost to a very good team that is on the verge of being great. We won't be great until we put a licking on one of the phony BCS schools in a bowl game like you did last year.

Some perspective to you great programs at Utah and BYU - we won 5 total games when I was at TCU in the early 80's. THIS FEELS REALLY GOOD. And FROG Town was LOUD last night.

Peace and good luck to both your squads

TCU's defense loses 4 great starters who will all be NFL picks. But the offense loses nothing. This is just getting started (even though Patterson has done an outstanding job at TCU for 9 seasons) and the Frogs are now on every top Texas High School player's top 3 list. Patterson has been a genius recruiter grabbing speedy Texas running backs and turning them into great defensive players (Jerry Hughes) and receivers. Now he gets to compete with the big boys.

The challenge will be keeping Patterson. Thank God he watched his mentor Dennis Franchione leave TCU for "greener pastures" at 'Bama and Texas A&M only to be embarrassed. Fingers crossed that he was paying attention

You don't know that TCU is only going to lose a few starters. The Frogs could potentially have the same problem next year that Utah is having this year. Utah lost some great players to graduation, but they also lost TWO premier defensive players to early entry into the NFL draft (Sean Smith and Paul Kruger: both second round draft picks). When your players that are not seniors are as good as TCU's, it becomes more likely that they will leave early for the NFL draft if they think that they will be drafted high enough. Andy Dalton could leave. You never know.

seriously the best player I have ever seen. Wow. And, this from an avid Cougar fan.
Utes exposed | 7:05 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Everyone who watched the game now knows how even a mediocre team can defeat the Utes:
#1: No huddle offense. Run plays quickly before Utes can sub. Keeps them off balance and on their heels.
#2: Establish a run threat and then run play action passes. Utah cannot defend against it.
#3: On defense, stop Utes run (stack the line) and pressure their new QB. He gets rattled easily and makes poor decisions.
Not Worthy of NC Game | 7:40 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Dancing through the MWC is hardly worthy of playing for NC. Half of the SEC and Big 12 programs would dominate the MWC. The y has been exposed in every big game outside of OU, and OU has shown they are not the same team as last year. The U is rebuilding playing with a true freshman qb making Saturday's loss no big deal.

TCU is a great program, but not comparable to the three teams ahead of them.
RE: Not Worthy of NC Game | 9:21 a.m. Nov. 16, 2009
Prove it.. just because you say it is doesn't mean it is. Everybody declared that Utah couldn't compete with Alabama, and that none of our players could even be on their roster.. well we all know what happened..

Point being is that you will never know until they play, until then put up or shut up.
Playoff | 12:36 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
Until major college football has a 16-team playoff to determine the national champion on the field, we'll never know how good teams like TCU, Boise State and Cincinnati really are.

Preseason polls, based on historic biases, determine the pecking order before a single game is played.

Teams that start the season in the Top 5 never fall out of the Top 5 without losing.

Why are Florida, Alabama, and Texas ranked ahead of TCU, Cincinnati and Boise State?

Because they were ranked higher in the preseason polls.

Why were they ranked higher?

Because they're traditional powers that play in traditionally better conferences?

Are they better this year?

Who knows?!

It's all speculation based on nothing but personal bias.

The big boys don't want a playoff because they enjoy their monopoly on bowl money and have no intention on sharing with the little guys...

and,

they're scared that if they ever had to line up on the field to prove they are better, they might actually lose, both games and credibility.

It's much easier to never play teams like TCU and Boise State and then claim that those teams couldn't compete.
