Go RSL | 9:10 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Congrats. Now they have a chance to join the Trappers, Grizzlies and Golden Eagles as Salt Lake teams to have won minor league titles.
MC | 9:10 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Great victory. The best team won tonight. Now lets go for the MLS championship. Yeah.................
DDDL | 9:10 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
That was exciting. Listened on the radio and it was hard to figure out what was going on, but I felt like a kid when listening to the radio in a small village in Wisconsin was the only way to follow my favorite teams!

Way to GO RSL!!!!!!

Good job boys!

Go RSL you forgot the Stars.
Cheecho | 9:20 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Great work boys, tough game ahead, lets do it!!!!
Mom | 9:27 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
That was the most exciting soccer game I ever watched--Love the Nick....
Anonymous | 9:29 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Loved wathcing it on TV here ins Spokane. I'm afraid the whole neighborhood knows RSL won.

They outplayed the Fire and were unlucky not to have won in regulation.

Well done, boys! One to go.
virginiasoccerfan | 9:32 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Like I said earlier this year when the Salt Lake press was down on them, Real plays with heart.
nerves | 9:34 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Rimando showed us all why he is still the man in there. Espindola got lucky that Rimando saved as many as he did or all we would be talking about is how Espindola lost the game for us. Thank you Ned!
Anonymous | 9:35 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Yeah RSL!!! It's sad that this took the back seat to the U and Jazz game. I couldn't find the game anywhere on local TV here either. Quite disappointing. But, I followed online and on my phone. Still ... GO RSL!
Anonymous | 9:35 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I must humbly admit that I've been pretty vocal about dumping Rimando. He was huge tonight! Saved 3 PKs. Unbeliveable! The whole team played phenominally but he was the hands down man-of-the-match. Without him RSL goes home on PKs. Well done, Rimando!

Congrats, boys!

EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!
Soccerman | 9:37 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Fantastic run this past month!!! I think this may have been the toughest game in the history of the RSL franchise. Next week's game against Beckham, Donovan & company looks easy compared to tonight's game. Despite LA's darling pretty boys, I think most soccer analysts around the country will be picking RSL to win after tonight's performance. Go RSL!
Dan | 9:40 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
hey this proves that the team playing the best soccer at the right time no matter what seed or who they are playing, they usually will be the team that moves on. RSL played their last 3-4 games of the season really well from what I saw and is just building off that confidence in the playoffs. GO RSL!!!! BRING HOME THE CUP!!!! Also remember if RSL wins the Cup that will be the first Major sport championship Utah will have. Jazz might need to worry a little and get their act together up there in salt lake and start winning.
Season Ticket Holder | 9:42 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Best goal keeping performance I have ever seen in a shootout! Rimando is the man. I was screaming at the TV like it was the national championship.
Anonymous | 9:43 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Congrats RSL. ONly bright spot in Utah sport.
Dan | 9:43 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009

WOOOOOOHOOO! | 9:44 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Amazing finish to an amazing game! I'm still reeling from those PKs!!! Rimando, you are a freakin stud! We stuffed Chicago all game and continued it through the end! To the Cup, and hopefully coming home with it! RSL, you've made believers out of a lot of cynics...you'll forever have the support of us all! See you all in Seattle!

Ole ole ole ole, ReAL, Salt Lake!!!
Gotta love it... | 9:46 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
when a Western Conference team will be able to fly the Eastern Conference title banner. Nice league.
tima totoro | 9:47 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Nice job RSL. Too bad LA is going to win!
re: Anon 9:35 | 9:47 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
There's a reason for that. Its called interest.
re: Dan | 9:51 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Minor, not major. The MLS is major in name only.
awesome | 9:55 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I love any sport where a team with a sub-500 record can win the whole thing. It really makes the regular season meaningful. (Sarcasm)
georg | 9:59 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
To Much to say so I will do in in bullet points

*Congratulations RSL.

*Rimando you were "huge"

*Heads up!!! Morales and Espindola "so goes soccer" Fabi and Javi you will make it up in Seattle.

*We will beat L.A.

*I will be there!!!!

*Soccer Hater's "Eat this"

*Juan I need tickets

*"Can you believe this?????

*Hope to see and meet many of you in Seattle!!

*Good night and good luck

It's still a title | 10:11 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I can understand the Minor thing but if they win cup then in my eyes have accomplished more then the Jazz as a franchise. RSL rising to the top point in the MLS in a short time. At least RSL went in to the playoffs as the last place team just like the Jazz last year but RSL played hard and with heart and found a way to win the top team in the league and also a chicago fire team that has been playing very well. These guys don't give up where the Jazz appear to decide they have no chance before the game starts sometimes.
uutlm | 10:14 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Congrats. Great WIN RSL!!! I grew up in Utah but now live in Denver. I'm a Rapids fan but still cheer for Utah teams. Very exciting finish. GO RSL against Galaxy
RSL ALL THE WAY | 10:20 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Absolutely amazing game!!!!! You guys rock!!!
No respect against CBus, you threw them under the bus.
No respect against Chicago, you extinguished them.
I expect to hear the same old song against LA.

You have our respect and support. Win the first professional championship for this state!
We're all behind you! We believe!
Chicago Jim | 10:21 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Amazing there are still cynics out there with little to do but bash. Why not spend your time critiquing those other "fabulous" teams in Utah.

I was at the game tonight, RSL owned the first half, the second seemed even, and Rimando ... he was huge and now I hate him.

Good luck in the final.
minor league? | 10:22 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
If I remember correctly, MLS stands for Major League Soccer. There is no bigger stage in the U.S. for soccer like you alluded to with the Trappers and Grizzlies. It is so sad when people show their lack of knowledge for The Beautiful Game.
raprsl | 10:22 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Great WIN!!!!
Chadders | 10:23 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Tonight Rimando was Man of the match for sure. Fedor is the person on here that has been the most faithful fan, you were right Fedor 2009 MLS Cup Champs RSL!!! Kreis was right sometimes the good guys win. Go RSL! The day I buy my 1st season tickets they make the final.
HOLY CAMARONES! | 10:25 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
We made it to the final!!! The first major league title for the state of Utah might just be 90 minutes away!!! YEAAAAAAAH!!!

Despite the Elliger years, the countless road losses, the experience of Countess, Kotschau, Kovalenko, Cunningham, Pastorino, the wacko stadium drama, the crazy community resistance to the world's sports, the possibility of moving the franchise to St. Louis, the empty stadium seats.... despite so many negative things and the so many struggles, I sticked with Real, and now we are 90 minutes away from winning the MLS cup finals.

Bring it home baby!
Don't take some crank literally | 10:28 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
There's a personal crusade to try to hate on the team/league/sport. . . . wow, impressive! It's just the "loudmouth effect"--one guy figuring if he posts enough he'll be important. But RSL has achieved more than he'll ever be able to contemplate, and all his sad little quest accomplishes is getting RSL articles more comments, and thus getting more articles written.
Anonymous | 10:40 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
quiet clap.
re: ? | 10:40 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Maybe here, but in the overall scheme of things in the sport, it is minor league. Maybe third or fourth level if the league is in Europe.
Anonymous | 10:42 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Way to go REAL!!!!!! Now let's go get them pretty boys in LA....

Do it for Andy!!!!
uutlm | 10:42 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
It would be 2nd professional championship for Utah, don't forget the Utah STARS of the old ABA days, and yes...that was a MAJOR basketball league, rival to the NBA. GO RSL, lets become the champion of MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER
Rimando Saves! | 11:05 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I knew if it came down to PKs that RSL would win. Rimando is the King of PK saves! Our Argentine players owe him big time. RSL qualifies for the Concacaf Champions League next year. RSL will win the MLS Cup fulfilling the predictions of many soccer experts at the beginning of the season. Can't wait to celebrate!
ajr | 11:11 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
wow i'm still stunned
three11stu | 11:13 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
We were at the stadium tonight watching the game with many RSL fans. That place was rocking. Way to go RSL. I wish I could go to Seattle, but due to lack of money we will at the stadium again next week.
Going to welcome the team tomorrow at the airport, and will do the same next week when we bring home the cup.
Utah | 11:14 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
BYU and Utah Football have 4 times the comments on there articles. A championship wont bring any more fans for RSL it only means something to the true RSL fans. Why are soccer fans always hating on other sports trying so hard to put down other teams ect, can't you just enjoy this victory without saying stuff negative about the Jazz and never winning a championship. The NBA is the best Basketball league in the WORLD. MLS is not even close to being the Best Soccer league in the World. Congrads to RSL , enjoy going to the Championship, but remember no one cares about second place.
Jim G. | 11:19 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Heading to Seattle for the cup. Go RSL!
Anonymous | 11:20 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
U guys can do it! Bring home the championship!
todd from santa ana | 11:23 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
this is one of the greatest moments of following soccer in my life.

The pride and happiness I have right now is incredible,

The first post I apologize for ruining---too bad haters

what are you going to do now?

I feel one more miracle coming...

Fedor who I believe was there want to hear from you, everyone it is beyond joyous
Pepsi guy | 11:27 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I like Hamlett's comment about us fouling all the time. If you take away Blanco 10 or so flops the fouls are only 13-8 and that doesn't sound so bad.

Thanks RSL for sending Blanco away a LOSER. Lets do the same for the stupid underwear model, err, I mean futbol player.
Anonymous | 11:28 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Hey one guy clearly got problem with major. Why you are comparing 2 different league.
KC | 11:42 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Excellent! Now beat LA! Go RSL!
Talk this Up | 11:42 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I would encourage all of us to dial into our favorite sports radio shows tomorrow morning when they are going on and on about the Utes losing, the Cougs winning and the misery of the Jazz. Call them up and insist that they talk about this game more than the usual 10 seconds they give to MLS. If all of us call in we can start to make a better name for RSL and soccer.
Coogr | 11:42 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Amazing stuff! Already have my tickets to Seattle!
