Congratulations!

You've stayed positive and won a great game. A brighter future is certainly ahead.
Wonderful | 5:27 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Nice to see them win at home so much more this year. Good luck against Boise State on National TV
At Home | 5:33 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Congratulations Aggies. Apparently, this is the first year they have had a winning record at home in 6 years regardless of what happens against Boise State. I have seen a lot of improvement this year. It's nice to see the program develop so much in the last year. Robert Turbin was amazing and should have recorded 250 yards today if his 57 yard run didn't get called back. Go Aggies!

Turbin is an animal! Can't wait to see what he and Borel can do next year on the offensive side. If the Ags can just beef up both lines and get a little depth to play a whole game things should be much better next year. Good to see the Aggies win a cold and windy game at Romney. It was well worth the freezing 3 hours. Go State!!!

Thanks to the players and coaches for executing a modified game plan. My kids and I appreciated being able to sing our school fight song following a WIN! Fantastic day and I am so impressed with our team, as we have a light line up due to injuries. I am hopeful for a very competitive game and a victory against BSU! Go Aggies!
Go Aggies ! | 6:45 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Let's take it to the Broncos, we have nothing to lose.

Nobody is going to give Utah State a chance against Boise, but I think we'll play them tough. In my mind Boise is a BYU/Utah caliber team, and we played well against both those schools on the road.

Go AGGIES!
good job! | 9:28 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
although id expect utah st to win in the snow against a team from cali. it is a true test of character and strength when teams cant pass and has to win by running the ball. go aggies!
Much needed win? | 9:37 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Oh please, the season is over. A much needed win does nothing for the team now.
Re: Much needed win? | 10:06 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Yes, it does. Because much of the Aggies are juniors and sophomores, and Coach Anderson is trying to instill a habit of winning and build positive momentum for next year.

Finishing 4-8 is alot better than finishing 2-10, both for recruiting and for the mindset of the players next year.
Loyal and true Aggie! | 10:34 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
It's easy to root for a team that wins. Everybody does it. Why do so many people love the Yankees? Everybody loved the Bulls when I was young. Where are all those Bulls fans now? I will always support the Aggies through tough times and good times. For crying out loud folks, stick with your team no matter what!!! Don't be like everybody else!
Go Big Blue!!! | 10:34 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Aggies are putting the pieces in place to have a break out year next year. They will be a force in the WAC. I can guarantee that not even BSU will be looking past them.

But lets be honest about BSU. Boise will be by far the best team USU plays this year. BSU is definetly a better team than the y or U.
What's up? | 5:53 a.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Sounds a lot like the last three years to me. What's new other than more $ spent to win three games?
True | 7:22 a.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Boise St is pushing for a BCS, nothing will stand in its way. ESPN is saying that as long as they both win out they see both TCU and Boise in the BCS. Can the Ags bust the dreams of Boise. It is set up for it, A nice cold, Windy, Snowy Friday night???? Lets GO AGS Tear down the Goal post on Friday night
Mike Johnson Fallon NV | 9:23 a.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Congratulations Utah State. It is good to see USU in the middle of the pack in the WAC standings as opposed to the bottom. Things are looking bright in Logan.

Even with a snowy day, 13,276 fans showed up. USU has a decent chance of finally averaging above 15,000 fans a game (and in a year with neither Utah nor BYU to put additional fans into the seats). Get 13,920 in the Boise State game and USU goes off the list of teams that the NCAA could, but hasn't, forced down a level.
Aggies | 9:36 a.m. Nov. 15, 2009
are going to wipe out Boise State on Friday.

They're not going to to know what hit them.

The Turbin Express is going to run all over the vaunted BSU defense and Kellen Moore is going to be curled up in the fetal position and sucking his thumb by halftime.

Ya heard it here first.
Go Aggies! | 10:06 a.m. Nov. 15, 2009
From all Cougar, Ute and Frog fans!
San Jose St? | 10:07 a.m. Nov. 15, 2009
This is the same team that the Utes barely beat right?

Just checkin'

Go Aggies!
snow? | 11:43 a.m. Nov. 15, 2009
i dont see any snow in that game.
Timeline | 12:11 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
If the Ags don't get Boise on Friday- Nevada just might nail them in Boise.

Nevada had one vote for the top 25 this week. Best offense in the Nation.

Boise does not have a cake walk into the BCS.

Great game Aggies and best of luck as you end the year.

2010 a breakout with 7 wins
2011 a chance at WAC title
2012 WAC champs!!!

Great win Aggies over the Spartans.

GO BOISE STATE!
Hey COUGARS and UTES | 2:11 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Why not make a trip to Romney stadium on Friday and cheer the locals "AGGIES" on against Boise State. I am sure there are seats avilable. I am a Ute fan but live out of state so otherwise I would go watch the game. Take the kids to beautiful logan and get a La Beau's shake and burger and have a date night with your wife...wear your colors for BYU or Utah and get some more national attention...support another Utah team in a re-building program. Besides one of our teams may be playing BSU later on in a bowl...depending.

Lets share the love and help UTAH STATE out.
Coug in MN | 2:14 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
If only! Beating BSU is unlikely, but look at the other upsets this year. If arrogance and poor sportsmanship could win, Vegas would have it BSU -100. Bring 'em down.
SJ Bobkins | 2:41 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Love the WAC the permanant home of the bottom ten. New Mexico St, San Jose St, Hawaii, Utah State are deplorable. Excluding Boise State, the only wins vs non-conference teams are either vs Div 1-AA teams or UNLV. Uggie fans mention the Big Sky as a great move so they can become a winner: Boise will join the MWC which will go to a rotating 8 game league play. A north division with 5 teams, and a south with 5, the north will play just 4 teams in the south and visa versa. Why not add in Washington State who splits the few area fans with I-dee-ho and go Div 1-AA. I-dee-ho has lost more money than the state wants them too by playing in a non-legal stadium (must hold 30,000) and all but BSU and Hawaii can't come close to 15,000 fans a game. Think about taking Wyo, and San Diego St too. I think the conference would be a great one with lots of offense/ Play the conference championship game in Boise as well as a playoff game.
SJ Bobkins | 3:02 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Where were all the "new" Uggie fans, yesterday??????? With all the talking about this resurgence of a program, I assumed that Uggie fans would be talking with their seats and showing up, but no the "crowd" was 12,300. The fans want a big time program with a bowl game, 8 wins a year, but you're not willing to sit through a little snow? You all should be ashamed. I-dee-ho averages 12,000 fans, Fresno St had 19,000 yesterday, Nevada averages 17,000, New Mexico St averages 11,000, while Boise had 33,000 for I-dee-ho and Hawaii had 32,000 for Nevada. Boosters, how do you justify this conference being in Div 1-A when all but 2 teams fall below the NCAA attendance rule? The Uggies were killed by Hawaii who was on a 6 game losing streak, while beating SJS who was on a 6 game losing streak. SJS is so bad their own newspaper San Jose Mercury no longer covers them. This looks like a Div 1-AA conference to me, without MWC bound Boise, for sure. Boise will play a MWC schedule in 2011.

In response to, "What's up?"
I completely understand the perspective that nothing seems different this year than last. The record is poor, and in the end, I agree that it's about "W's." However, I've attended all home games and the U road game, and watched the rest on TV, and this is a different team. The primary difference is that they are MUCH more competitive and coached much better. There are a lot of things going on behind the scenes that will take time (2-3 years) to make a difference:
1. Administration is committed to football now.
2. Facilities improvements.
3. New athletic director and staff who are VERY sharp.
4. Better coaches who are paid more closely to industry averages.
5. A strong fund raising effort.
5. This is all leading, already, to much improved RECRUITING, especially on a local/regional level, which is one of the key elements to winning.

There are plenty of deficiencies, namely that we're still VERY undersized, thanks to horrific recruiting by the previous staff (especially on both lines), but I'm pulling for the Aggies to win 5 next year and 6-7 in 2011.
Re: Sacramento | 6:34 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
I have been waiting for someone to be realistic. Thank you. Aggies aren't as bad as all the doubters have said but they aren't about to break out and be WAC champs. I could see a bowl game next year when the team is more deep so they wouldn't collapse against New Mexico State, Nevada, and Fresno which would be six wins. But I wouldn't see a huge difference. I don't think the football team will ever challenge Boise, because basketball is bigger in Logan, but the Ags could be a consistent bowl game player.
Aggie Watcher | 6:48 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Great post Sacramento/SLC Aggie Alum, you hit the nail on the head. This team looses 3-4 point games to New Mex St., Nevada, Fresno St. Held leads on all three. I would bet USU has never had so many early recruit commits in their history. This staff is doing a great job and the word is getting out that USU is a great place to get a degree and play football.
to sJ bobkins | 7:53 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
yes all hale the powerhouse MWC you have TCU who else? besides TCU, Utah, and BYU where is all your attendance. Come back to reality Y fan, you conference is getting coverage for TCU period. Washington State would never leave the PAC 10 to come to MWC that could be the dumbest comment ever made. Reality I suggest you start living in it
Poler face | 8:50 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Enjoy your win and stop trying to take down other teams. It only makes aggies fans look small.
Mars | 10:51 a.m. Nov. 16, 2009
Ignore SJ Bobkins, fellow Aggie fans. Every DesNews Aggie-football related article that I have read this year (all of them) has had a comment from SJ Bobkins and it is usually unctuous and critical of Aggie fans, boosters, the WAC, and the program.

Congrats Aggies on the win! Take it to BSU, and give 'em everything you've got!
My two cents | 11:13 a.m. Nov. 16, 2009
Yeah the WAC is horrible and USU has been bad. I know almost doesn't count and I in know way consider almost winning a moral victory. But it's safe to say that USU can be competitive with anybody in the WAC save Boise St. Just a few more stops or a big play in each of USU's games and USU would have a much better record. Its not like USU has been utterly dominated in these games. Once the defense gets better than I'd say the W's will start coming.

For BSU | 11:36 a.m. Nov. 16, 2009
I just wish we weren't down to our third string defense. It would be a much better game on Friday if we could get back all of the guys who are injured. Especially Brindley. The whole team is better when he is wearing jeans on the sideline. Good luck Aggies. I'll be there to cheer you on.
BleedCougarBlue | 12:00 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
3-7 overall?

Congrates, Aggies, congrats!

Didn't you guys win only 1 to 2 games for the last several years?

It's nice to you guys moving in the right direction.

Good luck with the rest of your season!
@ SJ Bobkins and BleadCougarBlue | 2:42 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
Trolls, trolls, trolls.
Re: BleedCougarBlue | 4:49 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
Just so you know teams aren't turned around in the 1st year. In fact if you look at history little or no improvement is seen during a coaches 1st year. We'll know more about the direction of the program based on next years results than this year.
silent majority | 10:44 a.m. Nov. 18, 2009
Lets go BLUE.
Anonymous | 4:28 p.m. Nov. 19, 2009
By the way, only 1 non-BCS team can go to the BCS. So TCU and Boise St. cannot BOTH go to the BCS. (or cincinnati, etc.)
