The reporter needs to check her facts. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is not a risk for colon cancer. Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is. They are not the same thing and should not be used interchangeably. The two forms of IBD are Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. If you have either of those, the recommended colonoscopy schedule is every two years.
