The Dems will never agree to tort reform. They are heavily subsidized by the legal profession and will always act as their lap dog. Harry Reid was a personal injury attorney before entering politics.

The Republicans in Congress already have excellent "government-run" health care benefits for themselves and their families. Let's take away their taxpayer-provided health care and see how their attitudes will change toward the uninsured.

They don't know how it feels when your child needs a crucial surgery and you can't pay for it.

I was reading an article on the swine flu in Ukraine and it stated how their socialized health care was "officially" free there, but if you wanted to get any procedure done you had to bribe the hospitals & doctors to move you up the waiting list or you were... well... dead.

God help us.

House Democrats missed opportunities (they could give a rats-behind less when that Bill went through about anything the GOP had to offer, while THEY sat on it along on their thumb's to, because talk is cheap, and they want to TRY to get re-elected again in 2010), to improve the House-passed health care bill when they rejected Republican ideas to limit lawsuits and give states more flexibility to enact innovative changes, a GOP lawmaker said. Actually, clear back in April Obama brought Republican leaders in to try to negotiate. He said "We're willing to compromise on tort reform. What are you willing to compromise on?" He was met with silence. They didn't want to negotiate, they just wanted to obstruct and try to score political points.

So that's why there's no tort reform in the bill.

Haha, because that's exactly what we're trying to do, implement the Ukraine's health care system in the United States.

If you're going to oppose health care reform, please try and present a legitimate argument -- instead of the standard Glen Beck socialist paranoia.

It's just not too convincing and a little silly saying our health care system will look like the Ukraine's -- or any body else's for that matter.

We do our own thing and always will -- which is why I'm proud to be an American. I think they are just trying to make it easier to buy health insurance in our great country.

WASHINGTON – The government paid more than $47 billion in questionable Medicare claims including medical treatment showing little relation to a patient's condition, wasting taxpayer dollars at a rate nearly three times the previous year. Need anymore proof that Obamacare will be a disaster?

The new healtch care program will only be worse.

We need to demand that Congress turn this healthcare reform into a a bill that remphasizes lower cost and less fraud.

I'm keepin' my health insurance as it is. I got good insurance that pays 70% of my medical costs so I'm happy. Sure, if I get a serious disease and my total cost is over $100,000 I'll be ruined but that isn't gonna happen. I'm healthy. If it does I'll just go bankrupt or sell all of my stuff or something. No socialist is gonna take away my good insurance policy!

I think we should reduce costs by not letting the insurance companies insure people likely to get sick. They shouldn't insure fat people, smokers, people who eat bacon or don't run everyday. If any of those kind of people lie and the insurance companies find out they should just refuse to pay. It's them people's own fault.

I know, its about the kids. Sure, American kids get sick and even die more often than kids in other developed countries but really it's the parents' fault, not mine. I don't want my tax dollars paying for their care! Poor people or even middle class people should think about that before they have kids!

Seriously, folks, are those of you behind the plan (whether you are Democrat, Independent, or not) happy with the price tag on this plan? Does it not seem rather absurd to redo a plan for 11% of the population that doesnt have insurance and end up with this price tag? Wow.

And the Pelosi-ites decide they will just tax whoever they can come up with to pay for it,including medical device companies. Do you know that this tax to medical device companies raises their taxes by 50%? How about we send all U.S. medical device companies running for the hills outside of our borders to benefit other countries because of the Obama plan? I dont know anybody that wants a 50% increase, do you?

This plan is just complete insanity. Can one Democrat out there justify this $1.3B price tag? Or is it better to just follow your party?

Republican bashing Democrats on Healthcare? Is this the same Republican Senator Mark Kirk who said In July 2007, proposed what he sees as a long term solution to the problem of Mexican immigration: shipping condoms to poor area of Mexico: "A slower rate of growth of Mexico's population would improve the economy of Mexico. It would also reduce the environmental pressure on Mexico's ecosystem. But a slower rate of growth would also reduce the long-term illegal immigration pressure on America's borders.

Sounds like he is for the Family! A slower rate of family growth would reduce healthcare costs....

Hmmm.....
