More like Choke City

I predicted the tigers to beat PC. I've played against both. Clearly the coaching was on the tigers side. It's the same old story for PC. The tigers win in a CLASSY act. I do believe that JD will win it all in a close one. The loss of their player will inspire them.

PC lost because their coaches blew it for them again. A qb that cannot throw or I should say is not allowed to throw the ball and a predicable offense. I blame the coaches, this was a team that won a national tournament in youth football they were coached poorly and not allowed to do anything. Matcich the chosen 2 alone could not win you the game you needed the whole team. Now your chosen are done and will be gone and left with an average team. Good luck this was PC chance and you blew it.

One player can make a whole team look bad and it's worse when there is more then one, in park city's team there was more then one, and no Juan Diego has had a easy schedule. And hasn't had to prove themselves their one hard opponent was highland and they get killed, hurricane has worked hard in their season and playoff bracket while Juan Diego beats weak teams. When Juan Diego beat park city it was early in the season and park city is way better I think Juan Diego is third best in 3A second is park city.

Tigers Beat the Second best team in the state yesterday and is going to beat the third best team in the state friday.

Coaches may have had a part of it, but bottom line the Hurricane boys beat the PC boys on the field. The coaches were not out there playing. Give credit where credit is do. Good job to both teams.

A smart person once told me that when you get to the final play-off games the one quality that separates the men from the boys is character. I was impressed with Hurricanes football team, I thought that they showed alot of character, as did their coaches. I wish that our coaches would realize this and focus more on this simple concept and not so much on earrings and mohawks. We had the team--- we had the talent--- we even had the momentum, but we didnt have the coaches...

JD was the only team to beat Springville this year and they will be playing for the 4A championship. Give JD a little credit, they ARE a good, well coached football team.

Hurricane is a team with a lot of heart. It's their time. They've worked so hard. Go Tigers!

Congrats to Park City. It was a well fought game. Hold your heads high. You had a great season.
Re: To: Class | 12:27 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
you guys played a springville team that wasn't even that good yet if you guys played springville again you would get murdered and the whole state knows that

TO:class | 1:33 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
JD played PC and beat them with an overwhelming defense and an unstopable running game. they held PC to about 38 yrd of rushingin the 2nd half, and as always with PC, they could'nt pass when they had to: JD-31 PC-14
5-A West made it to the playoffs and JD worked them too by running it past them and the "D"providing a shut-out JD-42 west-O
Played 5-A Cyprus, the game was over by half time. Special teams, and again running the ball , along with stout defense JD-55 cyprus-17
Springville didnt have an answer to any of JD's offense, defense, or special teams in a blow out win.
"CLASS" do you think that Sprinvilee was the only team to improve this season? at the time Springvilee was ranked top 5 in 4-A. JD-24 devils- 6
When its all said and done, the combined record of the teams JD played was 61 wins and 42 losses.
JD is the champion of 3-A...HHS does not have the speed, discipline, and execution to win 3-A, and you will see that come true on friday night.
re: Classless | 4:23 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Tearing down Juan Diego is ridiculous. They have a great team...as do Park City and and Springville. No team that advances twice in the playoffs can be considered lucky or weak. Give credit where credit is due.

Checklist for tigers to win friday
Speed Check
Discipline Check
Execution Check
There is no doubt JD has played some good teams but they have not played anyone like Hurricane. Good luck to both teams I hope it is a good, clean, fair, classy game.
re: To:class | 4:29 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Bragging about beating "5A Cyprus" is like saying you beat "5A Roy." Not impressive at all. The Pirates were horrible.

Beating West (5-6) was noteable. Beating Springville was impressive. Disrespecting Hurricane was foolish--you beat them by 3 last year.

So if JD is the 3rd Best Team in 3A, then when JD "thumps" Hurricane on Friday will that mean that the "Tiggers" are 4th Best Team in 3A?

It seems according to some views on here that EVERY team in Utah got better as the season moved on EXCEPT JD?! Wow! Please DO NOT quit your day jobs!

JD may have only beat Hurricane by 3 last year, it will be more of a humiliating ride home this year .... Sorry we let it be so close last year so you could hold your head up high and hang your hat on only losing by "3 last year" for the last 12 months. A loss is a loss!

to PC | 6:23 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Park city you lost and tied for 3/4th place but you are still trying to prove that you are better. if you were so good you would have won and become the champs. sorry PC this year was your chance. your program goes downhill next year because you lose all your talent besides the adams kid. too bad you are soo arogant. maybe if you drop down to 2a you will win a championship
Juan diego | 10:01 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
Springville is a team that beat Dixie twice and they were close hurricane beat region 9 rival Dixie way worse then springville ever did and we all know when you play a rival your going to work harder. Springville will get killed in the finals and Juan Diego will be upset.
Morgan Mom | 11:29 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
We played both Juan Diego and Hurricane. They are both well coached and classy teams. Good luck to both, I expect a tough, close game. Lots of Morgan kids will be there and we'll cheer for both.
New fans | 6:27 a.m. Nov. 16, 2009
There will be a lot of new Hurricane supporters in the stands on Friday. I noticed fans from Morgan and Wasatch in the Hurricane section last week. Can we expect Park City to join the crowd?
"new Fans" | 8:53 a.m. Nov. 16, 2009
The "fans" that were in the stands were players and coaches from previous games, they sat on the east side because the sun was shining on that side.
Best of luck this friday to all of the teams.

The only thing I would love more than Coach Homer winning a state championship is if I could get one as a coach. Coach Homer and his staff are some of the best people around and deserve everything they get. There players play the game the way it was meant to be played and I hope all goes well for them this weekend. Congrats Tigers and good luck!
Anonymous | 9:12 a.m. Nov. 16, 2009
"New Fans" Some were in fact new fans I passed several boys, thanked them for supporting us as some had said they would, they said "any day anyone beats Park City is a good day, good luck next week we will be cheering for you" Thanks to them! Sun in eyes or not.....
wow | 1:41 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
I dont even know why we bother to play the game the Tiger fans have made it clear that they are the State Champs... but just for fun JD will show up and see what happens. Thanks Tiger fans for waking up the sleeping giant.
re: wow | 3:17 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
Nobody is talking bout JD, we all know what JD can do. This blog is bout PC and Hurricane. So stop trying to stir it up. JD is the best team in 3A.
Tiger Fan | 3:48 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
I was waiting for DN to write a story about the JD - Hurricane matchup to wish them well and show them my respect. Maybe that's what others are doing as well.
re "wow" | 4:01 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
yes you are corrct in our eyes our tigers are the "state Champs" that is what we do as a community , love and support out team and coaches win or lose. Well most people it really cracks me up to think 2 years ago these coaches were being railroaded out by people, now its all good! Winning sure does get alot of people on the bandwagon. Feel sorry for the PC coach, we know how it feels down here to get thrown under a bus real fast, so our coaches take this in stride and are proud of those boys win or lose, the boys are the winners! Thanks Carter Miller, I personally know all the coaches have a ton of repect for you as well.
re re wow | 6:55 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
you kinda condradicted yourself by saying the community is with the coaches win or lose then said how they almost got ousted 2 years ago. As much as they want to win for the boys I know they also want to win to show how insane those "fans" were to want to get rid of them for trivial things and quite frankly lies. And to be honest alot of the fans that didn't want to get rid of them were awfully quiet during that time. To those of you that had the courage to stand up for a great coach in Coach Homer and his great staff it was appreciated. To those that didn't, get off of our bandwagon.
re:wow | 2:53 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009
you are right, I meant those that "truly" support them are with them win or lose. your words are spot on! thank you, it was amazing how fast the wagon filled back up isnt it........... and they were lies!
