You hit the nail on the head!
Howard S. | 9:32 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Cougar fans are petrified that Utah just might win this game. A Ute win would clearly establish BYU as the 1st runner-up program in the MWC.

Hey Cougie Fan | 2:19 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Watch and learn- this game will be big boy football. The type of football the Cougies are not talented enough to compete in.

'JEALOUS' from little brother from the bubble?
Re: Can You Spell | 5:47 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
It's spelled Knob. There are a lot of Knob Hill locations in the US but none in Utah.

Nightmares are what the Cougars have when they remember playing TCU.

If Utah dosen't turn the ball over they will win.

I was at the Sugar Bowl and had to listen to the 'Bama Fanz all week.....What's a Ute? Well they found out what a Ute is!!!

TCU already knows what a Ute is. TCU has all the hype. Utah is getting no respect. Just like last year. I like it when they play with a chip on their shoulder. All of the pressure is on TCU.

I like the Utes chances. Can you imagine the impact for the next couple of years, if they win, or keep it close, and then run the rest of the table.....Next year would line up really sweet Pittsburg, TCU and BYU at home, and Notre Dame on the road, for the cherry on top.

Yeh, this is a really big game. We just do well against certain programs. TCU is one of them. Whitt will have them ready....What a great game.

Go Utes.....from Key Biscayne, FL.
RE: Can you spell | 6:49 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Little brother (or should I say sister) lives 45 miles south in a very special happy place called Provo.

53-33-4......BIG Brother is the number on the Left, LITTLE Sister picks up the leftovers. Any questions?
Petrified | 6:54 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I freely conceded that it would be awful for Utah to win. Many of their fans--including all who post in the DN--are insufferable already. One shudders to think how obnoxious they would become if they managed to catch TCU on an off-day. Of course, that is the only way Utah has a chance this year. TCU appears to be the real deal. Utah has had more than their share of luck. Of course, the Utah boys argue that all of their close games have been the result of off-days by the boys in red. I do not expect the Utes to squeak by this time. I hope they lose by 100.
It's possible | 7:12 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
But in general, starting a true freshman quarterback on the road against a top-4 team with one the best defenses in college football is not a recipe for success.

Wynn and the Utes are going to get embarrassed.
Utah Wins | 7:45 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
The game won't be a blow out, both defenses have proven that over the last two years.

Even as much as I love my Utes, TCU is the better team this year.

Utah wins if they can stop fumbling:
Utah 27
TCU 24

Otherwise:
TCU 31
Utah 21
Texas Cougar | 8:08 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
To Howard- IF Utah wins, it means nothing more than Utah was a much better match for TCU than BYU. November 28th will make a fair comparison between Utah and BYU.

See you later this month!

PS-I was petrified to play Oklahoma. As a fan, no MWC team scares me, no matter what they accomplish. I would love to see Utah win, and get BYU into the title hunt. However, it would also be alright with me if TCU poured it on and got into a winnable BCS situation.
What do they say? | 8:59 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
"every underdog is dangerous" And clearly Utah has TCU's number. What is great is the Win Win situation we have here. Utah, the Underdog, loses (but it won't be a blow out like byu) and TCU goes on to BCS and NC with a real "Quest for perfection" (zoobers should have made those shirts in Red and maybe purple) or Utes win TCU and dismantle zoobers on their home field...again and get national recognition again...maybe even BCS bid if things go a certain way. Win win for the UTES...but the poor, poor cry baby Cougars no matter what are out of the BCS again. Not bad for a re-building year.
Re: Howard S. | 9:32 p.m.  | 8:59 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
"Cougar fans are petrified that Utah just might win this game. A Ute win would clearly establish BYU as the 1st runner-up program in the MWC."

Correction: A Utah win would establish tds as the 3rd place team in the conference...just like last year.
Discovega | 9:17 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
The Ute dynasty will be firmly established tonight and collegiant football will never be the same...mark my words.

Go Utes! You are God's Team!
Whootah? | 9:30 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
There no WAY Utah can pull out a win here. Utah is playing on par with the rest of the no-name teams in the conference. They are barely squeaking away with wins against teams that have been obliterated by TCU. I can't believe that Gameday has even had the grace to travel to Texas. Utah is EXTREMELY overrated, has no quality wins and in 2 weeks will drop completely out of the top 25, which is where they should be. They finally play a team today that will expose them for the weak team that they are.
BYU for Utes | 9:38 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
This B.Y.U. fan wants Utes to win to set up the Ute - Cougar showdown. I am for the Beehive state teams first before T.C.U. any day.
RE: howard S. | 10:16 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
1st runner up isnt quite accurate. TDS is actually 2nd runner up behind Utah and TCU
Bob | 10:22 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I am wondering why so many third-graders on both sides are so concerned about BYU/Ute football that they come out of their sandboxes long enough to get a parent to help them comment on these posts?
Day of Reckoning | 10:33 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
It is expecting too much to think the Ute nattering nabobs of officiousness can ever be expected to look realistically upon anything. So I don't predict that the Ute fans will ever develop a sense of reality, perspective or reason in viewing their loss to TCU today.

It would be nice; however, to have some respite from claseless and idiotic Ute posts for at least one week.

Today is the day of reckoning for Utah. You loose by at least 30 points!!

Add that to your loss to a top 100 Idaho basketball team and the weekend will be perfect.
Blowout | 10:50 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Say what you want about the Ute defense but they have a 19 year old quarterback with a game and a half of experience going up against one of the top defenses in the nation.

TCU 31 Utah 6
Re Whootah | 11:18 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Nice comments buddy. What was the Tcu AF score? Or the Tcu Clemson score? Way to run your mouth.
ramper | 11:57 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Utah needs to stifle TCU's defense like they did against Alabama last year. From what I have seen of TCU's defense that is going to be a tall (not insurmountable) task.
sour grapes | 12:11 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
now that the Y has found out Y it never did anything other than hurt the qb and then try to get national attention for what? two big blow outs that nobody cared to watch! so the utes will show em how to play the game! comes down to coaching and athletes who can execute! good luck next year though!
Good luck Utes | 12:56 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
You will need it with a freshman in his 2nd ever start ever against a powerhouse team. This is not the same team as those that you have squeaked by the past couple of games. Play the game, if you win, then toot your horn.
Moose on the Loose | 1:03 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Hey yewtie fans........let's face it!!!!

The closest EWE will come to winning this game is just seconds BEFORE kick off. After that ewe will be mooning and grooning in pain from getting your butzzzzzzzzzzz kicked.

My prediction

TCU 42
Utah 10

WHY can no one on these boards spell the word LOSE?!?!?!? It is not "loose". It is "lose." Is this a Utah thing? I see it on the boards here all the time! Weird!! Anyway, TCU is going to LOSE today!!

GO UTES!!!!

Go TCU! Kick butt.

TCU= cure for Ute arrogance! Humble pie taste good?
hey ute fans | 7:07 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
how's that game going for you guys? And I thought BYU looked really bad against TCS. I'm laughing harder than I ever have. Oh, Utah plays really good in big games. Of course the utes will win. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah.
Re: Hey Cougie Fan  | 7:29 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
It's so much fun looking back at all the comments from the ute fans. Yeah, we're looking at some real big boy football. hahah. Are you watching the same game we are? Seriously, I think TCU is probably the best team in the country this year. BYU looked terrible against them. And Utah even looks worse. TCU's defense is downright awesome, and they have a really good offensive unit. No weakness. Much better than Utah was last year, but they probably will get cheated out of a title shot just like Utah last year.
Anonymous | 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
At halftime.. The "Dream" game is turning into a NIGHTMARE! Poor helpless utes. I've been waiting all season for this game to silence the arrogant utes. They really sicken me.

GO HORNFROGS!!!

Put in Cain. Wynn is no good.

Whit doesn't seem to have a clue what he is doing.
Anonymous | 7:32 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
Did the utes really think they had a shot at this game?? They were obviously dreaming. Looks like they'll be dropping out of the polls this week.
Hi Discovega from 9:17 | 7:33 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I'm marking your words. You are right, the Utah dynasty sure looks strong tonight. hahahahah
Uh | 8:14 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
More like nighmare game, not dream game. Utes meet reality. Sincerely, The Horned Frogs!

Take that to the bank. We'll give you last year when we should have won too, but this year let there be no mistake who's at the top of the Mountain, literally!!!

Well, it finally came to this.
Do I cheer on my alma mater?
Or do I cheer on my hometown team?
Yep.
That was much easier than I ever thought possible.
Go Frogs!
RE: Discovega | 2:12 a.m. Nov. 15, 2009
"The Ute dynasty will be firmly established tonight and collegiant football will never be the same...mark my words."

Your words have been marked... And laughed at many times tonight!! LoL.

Btw... A total of four top 25 finishes in the last 50 years doesn't make a dynasty. The Utes have 2 good seasons in a decade, and all of a sudden your heads are bigger than the Rocky Mountains. The Utes have to win out the rest of the season to fight for the opportunity to even survive the top 25 this year, and BYU isn't a guaranteed win. Why don't you wait until after the 28th before you make stupid comments.
