I've been fortunate to visit Abilene, Kansas a few times while on business. Touring the town and the Eisenhower home and presidential library is a treat for history buffs.

The experience highlights a time of great change and progress in American history. Abilene and Eisenhower remind us of the moral strength and wholesome modesty, still prevalent in "middle" America, that characterize the "greatest generation".

When you visit Abilene, be sure to dine at the Kirby House. It's a delightful experience. If you visit during a holiday, you may get to see a genuine small-town parade. There's no substitute for the real thing!
