Of course there Moral is low, please for help are being ignored, they are being hung out to dry!
It's no wonder that morale is down among troops. Many aren't sure their presence is justified, and they know that so many of their fellow Americans don't support our countries involvement. So many Americans, however, are ignorant enough to think we should ignore other countries problems and hide behind our flag, instead of fighting for it's purpose.
Oh geez, so glad we now have such a decisive president who knows exactly what our war strategy should be...after all didn't King Obama sound off during the campaign on how Afhanistan was the war we "NEEDED" to win and not Iraq???? But wait... why all all the waffling and waiting and waffling and waiting....? I mean our top generals have been pleading for more troups for months now while our great commander and chief sets on his hands. Hmmm, suddenly the Afghan war doesn't seem to be worth winning now especially since Obama is being controlled by the far left anti-war nut jobs who would like nothing more than for America to surrender all nuclear arms and retreat from every theater of war regardless of the consequences. Obama is NOT a leader and as a commander and chief he is a skinny joke. Hmmm, I wonder why the troup moral is so low???
When, I enlisted you had a draft and draft dodgers like Cheney, Limbaugh and many conservative icons. During Vietnam, you served a 18 month tour of duty and you returned be scorned, name called or to raise a family.
Todays, conservatives have conservative morality to dismiss the service of American soldiers who have become like ducks in a shooting gallery. Moral relativism allows conservatives to be dismissive. "Well, they enlisted."
How many times can you return to risk your life, forced away from your family without your morale becoming negative? Conservatives hung these man out to dry. Those who enlist hearing about the valor of sacrifice for god and country, are learning that only a few never sacrifice, them.
Those that claim to support our troops; sit at home watching Fox News, football games chomping down barbecued ribs and swilling cold beverages.
Let me get this straight. The day you enlisted, you were aware of draft dodgers like Cheney, Limbaugh and other "icons". This was common knowledge to everybody at this time, or were you the only one who had knowledge of this dodging back in the 60's. Just curious. Thanks for your service, it "IS" much appreciated.
I guess we're all armchair psychologists on this one. But I've always believed that discouragement and misery are a result of unrealized or unreasonable expectations. The gap between what they expected and what they're getting is huge. What did they expect? What picture did their recruiters paint for them? Were they lied to? Are they in the military for anything besides the health and educational benefits, and retirement? I'm a veteran, by the way. I'm pretty sure most people join the military for reasons other than to be shot at or to kill, and it's NOT all about patriotism.
moral will sink whenever you are abandoned by the commander in chief
"my boss is more concerned taking over health care system that isn't broken he is with our lives" Why shouldn't morale be low?
We've gotten our soldiers into a war in a country that NOBODY has ever been able to conquer and we are not supporting them. Their objective is not clear and their enemies have powerful allies in this country and now they can't trust their own comrades anymore. I'd be discouraged, too.
And to anonymous, the Vietnam vet--which service were you drafted into? My husband and his associates were drafted for TWO years. While lots of people (including a large number of liberals like Bill Clinton and Teddy Kennedy) managed to avoid the draft by being "in college" or joining the reserves.
It's true that the Vietnam vets were "welcomed" home by the likes of Jane Fonda and her friends (many of whom are the mentors in the careers of people like President Obama. So, if you did serve, God Bless you and "welcome home!"

It was reported that Obama has rejected all the plans before him because they do not contain an exit strategy.
Requiring an exit strategy shows great "concern for their lives".
