It's never a good thing to be on the moon needing a glass of water only to find out its warm water and you have no ice.
Ernest T. Bass | 11:26 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Those 10 foot tall lost 10 tribes need something to drink.

Water found on the moon.

And, as yet, no confirmed intelligence found on the earth.
Garrie | 11:54 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I could never get the glass of water past my space helmet anyway.
Prop Guy | 11:58 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
What proposition number has been assigned to this attack on the sanctity of a dry moon?
Cali Marty | 12:10 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
WOW!
Don't tell Obama | 12:16 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Obama finds out that there is energy or water on the moon expect a new tax on anybody or anything trying to get their hands on it.
Sentence finisher | 12:29 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
"Water found on the moon.

And, as yet, no confirmed intelligence found on the earth."

...except for me, of course.

When, I first read these comments here, my first thought was how long it would take a conservative to write a hateful Obama comment on a story about the moon? It never takes long.
Alterego | 12:40 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I hear Nevada is already begun preliminary studies to see if there is anyway to get that water to Las Vegas!
Lenny | 1:05 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Maybe we should send astronauts to the moon for the first time to investigate further.
Pagan | 1:26 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
'"Water found on the moon.

And, as yet, no confirmed intelligence found on the earth."

...except for me, of course.' - Sentence finisher.

I'm happy for you.

That is great. Can we the tax payers get back our $100 million.
Waste of money | 1:55 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
So What? How much did we spend for that? How does it benefit us? Wasteful spending in all areas of our government...no wonder we spend trillions more than we make.
Re: Pagan | 2:10 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Yup, especially reading incessant comments from people like Ernest T Bass.

But where does that put me if I actually read it?
Re: Neat | 2:11 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
You will, in health care. Just ask Anonymous (12:36).

Hateful Obama comment? Are you serious? Get over yourself. The reason people laugh about Obama is so they don't have to cry about him. Go back to hugging trees and watching CNN (while the rest of us work so you can cash your welfare check).
Coming to a store near you | 2:27 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Moon water... It's really expensive though.

FROM: Waste of money

"So What? How much did we spend for that? How does it benefit us? Wasteful spending in all areas of our government...no wonder we spend trillions more than we make."

And then the rest of the previous comments are repleate with jokes and jabs with no substance.

How these articles bring out the short sighted and pathetically ignorant (ie. Waste of money).

WATER ON THE MOON, IN SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS!!! This would facilitate a base there and then harvesting of the the vast. . . yes, I said VAST amounts of minerals and raw resources that would transform life as we know it. It would be a jump off base for Mars missions (with similar results in human benefit).

Future generations will look back and judge our foot draging on this.

There are ENORMOUS financial benefits with this; but more importantly are the vast leaps in knowledge we can gain. . . AND YES, this could have the potential to even benefit the poor around the earth as well as governments and corporations.

And be assured, I'm not just some Star Trek freak that wants to speed up the future.

The Powers-That-Be who truly run our nation know the real reason for this "experiment".

More wasted money if you ask me. What did exploration ever accomplish anyway? We all know the world is flat and there is nothing of value beyond Europe's glorious shores? Don't even try to tell me that exploration led to finding better ways to travel farther and faster then previously though possible. It's all government propaganda spread through the wonderful world-wide-web. Oh wait, that's another one of those things that was a result of mans exploration into space.
all I know  | 3:52 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
All I know is that alterego's comment was dang funny.
Leave the Moon alone!!!! | 3:55 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I don't want to look up and see a bunch of garbage on the moon. The scientists that hurt our fragile celestial neighbor will be held accountable by God!!!!!
Blue Moon! | 6:51 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I heard the moon was made of cheeze!
I'll bet if.... | 7:56 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
the government asked for volunteers to parachute from a spacecraft to the Moon's surface there would be takers.
Don | 10:15 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
It's not just the water found on the moon in significant quantities that intrigues NASA it is the Sodium, Mertcury and other elemments that were found! Actually a lot of good has come from this flight project! And there will come a time when we find that this was a great investment! Now will we get there first or will China? I think we should expect another major news conference to clarify the additional findings not discussed to this point!
