Timpview would not be meeting Springville if the Utah High School Athletic's knew how to do a bracket system. I wonder what person in charge does not understand how a bracket system works. For some odd reason they think you have your best two teams play right off at the beginning of the play off. My thought is: "get a brain" because it is ridiculous that the top teams get pushed out at the beginning of the playoff. It stupid how they do this in Utah.
Could you be more specific? | 9:31 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
WHAT team are you referring to? If "your" team wins each game---then they have nothing to worry about, do they? (They will be in the championship game). If you are referring to Mt Crest---what difference does it make? Does it matter to you that they lost yesterday---or would you prefer that they lose next week? Either way---they lose!
This Point | 9:33 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Has been rehashed over and over again... Yes it is unfair... (to MC) but the best team wins it no matter what.

Get a clue Mountain Crest fan, brackets have to be set up prior to the payoffs beginning. You think the BCS is fair? Do you think in the NBA the two best teams always meet, or in the NFL? Your right it almost never happens, that the two best teams meet...But in this case I think that Springville and the T-Birds are the two best teams. It WILL be closer than most believe. I do however think Koressa is the best player I have seen this year.
Fan of the Game | 10:00 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I went to watch both of these games since my team is not playing and after watching both games. I think pre-seeding is a joke but it is done in all sports not just Football. But my biggest comment is I think a Springville vs. Mountain Crest game would go down to the wire. You are mistaken if you think MC would beat up on Springville you are very evenly matched.
Timpview- best in state! | 10:13 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Time for the SLC, Davis, and Weber County's "foot ball teams" to disembark and send their players into non-combative events i.e.: band, lacrosse, boy’s choir, in which they may be able to compete. Utah County football totally dominates, up-North, throw in the towel!
RE: | 10:15 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Because UHSAA won't rank teams in the playoff brackets. Why do they go straight off Region records, and rotate what regions meets who. They need to take all teams that make the playoffs then RANK them so this doesn't happen anymore. 4A and 5A championships happened this week. Dumb!
MC | 10:17 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
MC, that was a lot of talk all year long to get hammered by the T-Birds. Kuresa overrated. Timpview not as good as I seen in the past, but still good enough to win. It won't be much of game with Springville. Congrats T-Birds for pulling it out again.
Embarrassed to say.... | 11:03 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I am almost embarrassed to say that I thought MC would beat TV.
Wondering | 12:37 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
How tall is Kuresa?
5' 7'' | 12:40 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
with his hands up.
Anonymous | 1:02 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
kuresa is 6 foot.
Re: MC | 1:03 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
how is kuresa over rated? almost 400 yards passing! and with no o line. yeah thats way over rated
UVAS | 2:01 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Congrats to the Utah Valley All-Stars! Utah County football may totally dominate, but Mt. Crest has Mt. Crest kids, Timpview has the valley all-stars. If they are so dominate, how did they do against 5A teams this year?
Alex who? | 2:02 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Who cares about him or any other MC player? The players on the field have done the talking. Now let's get to Springville / Timpview matchup. The thunderbirds seem unstoppable right now. Can Springville compete?
Fan man | 2:07 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
The problem is that MC always seems to run their mouths before they actually play the games. They do it in all the sports that they participate in. I think they like the us against the world motivation. Thats okay if you can back it up on the field. Yesterday they did not. TV pushed them around like they were an undersized JV team. What difference does it make if it's in the semis or the finals. The best team won. Deal with it MC
what? | 2:08 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
what was the deal with the MC player stealing TV qb's arm band with the plays on it in the 4th quartr? did anyone else see that? kind of funny. he shoved it down his pants and wouldt give it back. the qb tried to tell the ref but it didnt seem like the ref cared and kept the game going. i guess he can play just as well without it based on what he did on the next play. i thought i was watching kids in a sand box for a second. good game to both teams. all great players that play hard.
Timpview fan | 2:23 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
No need to start dissing on Kuresa because of his size. The bottom line is that the kid is a player and a competitor. He just makes big plays consistently---3rd and 25? doesn't matter. He gets it done. He has another year and will be a special player to watch again. You can't teach size. Brown is a big fast kid and has come a long way in the past year. Both great quarterbacks with different strengths and weaknesses. We don't need to tear either of them down and diminish their talent. Great job both of you and good luck wherever your future takes you!
Great Game | 2:24 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I enjoyed the game last night. Both teams played a hard physical game. Timpview deserved the win. Kuresa was amazing, but I felt MC coaching has made a big mistake having Kuresa also play defense and ball holder for punts. He never had a break and gave 100% throughout the entire game. MC had a lot of players on the sidelines.Certainly a few of them can at least come in for the punts. Who puts their quaterback in for the entire defense and risks injury and fatigue for such a key player?
Good Idea | 2:25 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Let's allow high schools to have a open enrollment policy so most the good football players can go to one high school and dominate the other schools. Lets name the school "Grandview." No that doesn't sound right, how about "Timpview." Yeah, they will blow out teams at will and win state championships year after year.

Mountain Crest is a good football team but couldn't compete with the depth of talent associated with Timpview. Who can in 4A? Answer "no one." Timpview will get it's 4th straight championship next Friday
TV Fan | 2:27 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
If Kuresa is 6 feet tall, then the TV QB must be close to being a 7 footer. Did you see the post- game when they shook hands? #12 was nearly a foot taller.
Anonymous | 2:30 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Ranking teams will not solve anything. People would then just complain that they were not ranked correctly and that their region is tougher than the others so they should be weighted higher. The way it is currently done is the only fair way. Right now you could not even rank 5A schools with the way region 1 is. Region 1 only gets to play each other with the exception of a game or two. If you are the best team you will win. Period. It doesn't matter when you meet up with someone in the tournament.
Kuresa | 2:33 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
There is no way he is 6 foot. Maybe 5'9" at best. USU will find another position for him to play. He doesn't have a chance to play QB at the next level. He is a great athelete and coach A will find a spot for him.
T-Birds | 2:59 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
The T-Bird fans sound an aweful lot like the PG fans did up until a week ago. Truth is you have players from all over and then brag about beating teams from one area in 4A. When you played Alta you just got beatup so be happy being the big fish in the small pond.....
Observer | 3:59 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I thought both teams played really well yesterday. I have watched the T-birds play for the last several years and I'm always amazed at how well they play as a team and how united they are. I have to admit that I was pretty worried at the start of this season that the team was not as good as in years past. They have done awesome this season and have come very far since metting with some of the 5A teams. It just goes to show what team unity and an awesome coaching staff can do for a team. Timpview succeeds year after year because they mold individuals with character, unity, and a great work ethic. While the quarterback may be one of the stars of the team- did you notice how well the D-line was able to hold MC and how the O-line supported the QB? As individuals I don't think they have as much raw talent as other teams, but when they come together they are unstoppable. Props to Timpview for consistently having a great team, players who play clean and a staff that is unmatched!
Timpview 2000's | 5:28 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
ASTERISK. Cant deny it. Its almost like the Yankees winning the world series. Who other than the fans see them as "champions"?
to timpview 2000's | 6:25 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
whatever helps you sleep at night man. if saying timpview needs an asterisk to their wins is what will help you get over the manhandling your team has taken the past three years so be it. more power to you
RE Timpview 2000's | 7:12 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Every single person in the entire sports world sees the yankees as champions. They proved it. They came together as a team with great coaching and beat everyone else...sound familiar?

Does anybody actually know how many players on the timpview roster live out of timpview boundaries? and who?
MC Alum | 7:13 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Great effort by MC but the better team won. I wish MC would have won. Reading some of these negative comments directed toward TV is classless. MC had a great season and they will have a shot next year. Ripping on the opponent is lame. Let TV have another year of glory, if they can win next week.
TV's talent.. | 8:16 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Don't carried away folks, this team is as "talented" as years past. But, they play together, are very well-coached and play a part of the program.

They have 1-2 senior D1 guys last night yet they played like they did in 2007 when they had 10. That's called being a great TEAM with GREAT COACHING and GREAT PLAYERS that play TOGETHER !!
Who other than the fans? | 10:15 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Uh that would be the state since Timpview has the trophies and rings....
Anonymous | 9:01 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
It is a simple fact that TV will win its fourth straight 4A title. And dont count them out for next year either. Their JV team absolutely cleaned up in their region. and only lost to Alta in triple OT by a field goal. And they did all this with 4 or 5 Juniors starting varsity. They will be a force to rekon with next year as well.
RE: T-birds | 9:22 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I would rather be the big fish in the second biggest pond, than be PG in 5A.
Brown Big? | 11:08 a.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I wouldn't call Brown "big". Tall, maybe, but he's maybe the skinniest high school QB I've seen in a long, long time. He needs to beef up a lot if he plans to play at the next level. Even at a Junior College he won't last long if he doesn't get some meat on his bones.

Good player, though. I was surprised how many times he'd just tuck and run and MC couldn't seem to get a hand on him. Picking up 10 - 15 yards per carry.
Re Timpview 2000's | 1:04 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
I played for Timpview in 07. I can think of 6 starters that are on TV's offense and 2 on the defense that lived outside of Provo. But, they came to the TV program in 8th to 9th grade and just one in 1oth grade. Its open enrollment people. And its not like its from across the state. I think the farthest a player lives is Lehi
RE good idea | 1:41 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
lets get a school...that works hard in the offseason, goes through adversity together, plays through losing big players, gets criticized every single week for doing nothing but winning, binds together as a team and wins....lets call it "Timpview". And yes timpview has depth, They have 2nd 3rd and 4th string players that are unselfish and work hard all year against the first teams, who are the best in 4A. This is a good team, they have worked hard to be where they are. Dont overlook the devils. Go TBirds!
open enrollment | 2:01 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009
almost every district in Utah has open enrollment....the key is to transfer your 9th grade year before you establish your "home" school. Get over it, I can't think of many schools in the state that don't have kids in one sport or another that live out of the boundaries
Trash | 1:55 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009
The ponies from Hyrum once again proved that they can sure talk up a storm and talk the talk, but for the third year in a row they couldn't walk the walk. I'm glad TV put a beatdown to the ponies because it's knocked the people from Hyrum off cloud nine and back to reality!!!
RE: Timpview- best in state!  | 3:39 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
UT County football dominates? Really? Another UT delusional fan. TV is the 3rd best team in UT County. PG beat you and LP would have beat you. TV the best in state? LOL! Did you like the beatdown Alta put on the Thunderchickens? Dang... that thing was 31-7 when the 2nd and 3rd string kids started rotating in. I wish Les would have run up the score, could have been 60-7.

Those 5A UT County schools really made a great showing. Lets see, a total of "0" made it to the Semi-finals. 3 SL County Schools and a Davis County Schools.

Maybe you meant best in the state in 4A, if so, then I apologize. If you lose to Springville, you are going to hear about it from 3A fans, since JD smoked Springville. Where is Juan Diego? Is it in AF, Lehi, Orem.... can't remember... oh yeah, just down the street from Alta in SL County.
RE:RE: Timpview- best in state! | 4:18 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
Hey Alta fan, now you know how it feels to lose your best defensive player like Timpview did when we played you. So while you are cleaning out your lockers today we are preparing for a 4th state championship in a row. By the way, Timpview would kill your team right now and it is eating you up right now. T-BIRDS - BEST IN STATE!
To the Alta (SL County) Fan | 5:15 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
Sorry that you have to watch the better teams on television now. It forces you to play the 'what if' game and yell your frustrations to nobody that listens. Maybe someone you know will give you a hug that you desperately need.

Bottom line, Alta did not get it done and does not have what it takes. Live with it.

Maybe the 5A / 4A champs will invite you to their championship party?
PG Realist | 10:19 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
I know this article has nothing to do with me or the team I root for. But My final rankings go like this..

1.Bingham- Unbeaten in utah. Favorite going into friday
2.Davis- They have proved to be the Powerhouse they are
3. Alta- Good season, 1st in Region 4, Losing to Bingham is nothing to feel bad about
4. Lone Peak- Suprising team from region 4
5 Pleasant grove- Decent season, just needed a little bit of luck
6.Hunter- The true underdog of 5A
7. Timpview, good team, just not against 5A's elite
8. Mountain Crest- Just couldnt win the big one
9. Jordan- Hart was great to watch
10. Brighton- Beating 3 out of the 4 semifinalists has got to count for something
Best In State? | 10:22 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009
I like Timpview, I really do. What they do for their atheletes is amazing and they have a solid program. Having said that, bingham is the best team in the state. Then Davis, Then Alta, Then PG, Then hunter, THEN TIMPVIEW
