This story is inaccurate, Springville already has 1 football state title, this would be their second.
You are assuming they are going to actually beat Timpview. Good luck with that. The Dixie game was just a play or two from going into overtime. It was a good season though.
You did a great job yesterday. Maybe the result would have been different in warmer weather, but the cold definitely affected the Dixie players catching and fumbling the ball. I suppose it's payback for the early hot summer games that you have to play down here. Dixie didn't show until the 4th quarter, but you deserved to win. Now go and beat Timpview!
Now you have the pleasure of being embarrassed by Timpview. Can you say JV starting the 2nd half?
Timpview 51 Springville 0 Half
Do you know what a train looks like?
did dixe manage to give up that many points without scoring, then manage to come that far back?
How did Dixie manage to score that much...Springville's Offense turned the ball over twice in the last 4 minutes of the game in the 15 yard line. Dixie fought till the end, but it is not hard to score from 10-14 yards out on back to back possesions. Springvilles offense really needs some improvement, too many turn overs in crucial situations.
The dixie flyers deserve to loose this game. After Mike Sharp was suspended for throwing a hit they re-enstated him to play. That was a wrong move not only did the flyers loose with there dominant quarter back but now you have to look at what will become of this call next year. If someone throws a hit you HAVE To Let them play because you let this one kid play. Instead of sticking to the rules and keeping sharp out they let him play bold move.
If someone throws a hit they should not play. If someone does not throw a hit they should play, which is exactly why Sharp played this week. If you payed attention to the situation and what surrounded it you would know that Sharp's ejection was overturned because he clearly did not throw a punch at someone behind him from a position lying on his stomach with someone else on top of him bending his wrist back. You try doing that. If you can do it you are probably the greatest athlete in the world.
Hopefully what will come of this call next year is that the UHSAA actually evaluates and trains the officials that make these bad calls so they don't have to deal with problems like this.
Karma did not come into play at all in this semifinal game. It was about Dixie making mistakes early and Springville capitalizing on them and winning a good football game. Good job Devils and good luck against Timpview, should be a good game regardless of what people say.
Zulu, unless you saw the film you cant say anything. I not only witnessed the call but also saw the film and therewas no punch thrown....hence why it was over turned!
you're all forgeting that the red devils have beat tipmview once already this year! go devils!!
when?????
That's what i heard too!
Springville did not play TV this year.
At it again! When is the state going to move them to 5a where they belong as well as all the other utah county schools with their open enrollments and recruiting!!! Lets Go UHSAA
