Congrats to Timpview. The true kings of 4A football! I really thought we might have a shot this year, but simply put, the T-birds out played my Mustangs. Pouring salt into the wounds, it was the third year in a row. Congrats to my Mustangs on an amazing season! Rice Eccles three years in a row is nothing to hang your heads for, although a championship would be sweet! Good luck Timpview next week! This is me signing out for the season. See you next year.

congrats to both teams, great seasons and it means a lot to make it to the turf. Timpview is definitely a dynasty and have kept on winning when it matters most. Should be a good one next week.
congrats | 10:34 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
That was a great game, the Utah Valley All-Stars had it all the way and are on their way to another state title.
Praise to TV coaches | 10:36 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Wow. What an amazing defensive scheme put in by Coach Wong. 6 DB's and held Mustangs to 21 pts. Best coaching in the state!

Tv be careful with the trash talk. Remember all th smack talk mc did and now they have to pay to get into res next week not to mention the gas money.
fun game | 10:49 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
one of the most fun timpview games i've seen

Any win from the Wong era is an asterisk win

Great Job Wong | 11:06 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Throwing in a surprise DIME package with 6 DB's.

Timpview's defense bended based on superb play by Kuresa but they didn't break.

Big hits on defense too. Timpview plays too physical for these 4A teams.
Anonymous | 11:06 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Mountain Crest's skill players are much better than Timpview's...the TV line was just too big for those small guys to handle. Alex Kuresa is 5 times as good as any player on Timpview, though. He deserves Mr. Football in my opinion.
UTAH COUNTY!! | 11:07 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
All i gotta SAY GO T-Birds!! Springville Sorry but u had a easy way 2 state but now ur gonna get SMASHED!! Utah county RUNS FOOTBALL!!!! SLC LOGAN Southern Utah>...NICE TRY!! Hahaha
game was closer than people | 11:08 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
think. MC was only down seven at half and w/ their quick strike offense were able to explode at any moment. props to timpview for stepping up big time.

mountain crest fans have been claiming the #1 ranking all year. they sure talked a lot of smack to. All the "experts" picked Mountain crest as well.

Don't count out the champs that easily!
MC | 11:09 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
same time next year?
Great game! | 11:10 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
What an exciting win for the class of 2010. Great game by both teams--congrats Timpview! Best of luck next week!
PAYING ATTENTION | 11:12 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
If TV plays smart the entire game, TV by at least 40.

If TV gets ahead, and calls off the dogs, TV by 20.

RE: Anonymous | 11:15 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
The difference is Timpview can back it up.
Timp Alum | 11:21 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Congratulations coach Wong, Van Orden, etc. Way to have these boys prepared for a very good team. I think last year taught you a lesson on how to defend their spread and speed.

Timp fan's.....please stay classy with your online comments. I'm pretty sure that most of the off color comments are from Timp haters.

A tired old cliche....."Act like we've been there already".

the line play happens like that when you have 5 WR with no extra help.

that's why there are open receivers IF you get enough time.

so, has nothing to do with your "skill players being that great" but more to do w/ the scheme you choose to live and DIE with.
Utah County | 11:34 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
All that talk about how great the football is up north and down south... Well it looks like the 4A champion sill come right from the middle... Utah County dominates 4A sports this century... It seems like the majority of sports in 4A have a UT County Champion!!!
LESSON | 11:57 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
TRASH TALKING IS CHEAP....LEAVE IT ON TH FIELD!

CONGRATS TO BOTH TEAMS...IT WAS A GREAT 4A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME....

BEST OF LUCK TO ALL YOU YOUNG MENA ND COACHES AND THANKS FOR ANOTHER GRETA YEAR....CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROWS 5A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME....THE RICE BOWLWILL BE ROCKIN!
LOL | 12:49 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Don't teams get tired of trash talking the T-birds? It used to be East, then it was Pine View, then Cottonwood, and now Mtn. Crest.

Timpview had a better team. Offensively, defensively, and special teams. Brown outplayed Kuresa in his head to head matchup. Tbirds dominated most of the game.

Timpview doesn't need to talk, they just keep winning. It's funny how no one from Mtn. Crest is online right now. They were doing so much talking before. I guess they have to wash their equipment and get it all ready to turn in tomorrow.
Forrest | 5:59 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
In 2000, Highland worked Timpview in the semifinals, then had a let down the next week, and Logan won it all. Springville definitely has a chance next week.
Timpview!! | 6:33 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
It's nice to have Bryson McKenzie back in action these past couple games! The RB depth is something that is overlooked, but rest assure, all three RB's in TV backfield are explosive, strong, fast, and shifty. A lot of people don't know, but this game against Springville is going to be personal for TV and I feel bad for the Springville team, school, and town. This has nothing to do with it being a 4A championship game, more so to do with things that happened in the off season. Best of luck to both teams!
4A | 6:42 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Just remember its 4A!.
CV-St. George?? | 7:08 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
It would be nice to see how good of a team would come out of CV or St. George if you took the best players from each school. Come guys level the playing field. As long as TV can have kids out of their boundaries they will win the championship. Everyone else is playing for second. Period.
Outsider | 7:23 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Congratulations TV!! You won the championship of the blue and orange game. Next week should be a win for you as well.
Great Coaching Effort!!! | 7:25 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Timp get hammered all the time in the press, and these message boards, for all kind of ridiculous things but for once I wish there would be article on what has to be one of the best coaching staffs in the state. Coach Wong deciding to bench some of his regular D line starters in favor of faster LB's was brilliant. Great scheme offensively and defensively. Kuresa was unreal by the way. Sure wish he was graduating. Go Tbirds!!!
Mustang | 7:28 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
In reality Mt Crest really is the better team. Just didn't go our way.
MC Fan | 7:38 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I knew we were in for a long night when I saw the Timpview qb. He was bigger and taller than almost all the players on the MC defense.

He had a great game and ran hard.

And for some reason, we forgot how to tackle.
TDub | 7:45 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
It's interesting that the least mentioned players on both teams, the kickers, NEVER get any respect. Who personally added 8 points to the TV total? That wasn't the winning margin, but the FG that TV scored probably swayed MC into thinking they had to force some of their plays to get back into the fray. Even Harrington and Mahe didn't know the names of the kickers and that's WEAK journalism. Sometimes those kickers make the winning points and spend just as much time practicing as the other guys, especially if they are only freshmen.
Boundaries? | 7:49 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Every school has a kid from out of there boundaries, so go complain about your loss somewhere else. At least TV has open boundaries, most schools have closed boundaries and still have illegal players.
roster | 7:53 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Great job to the Univ of Timpview....I mean Timpview High. TV is one of the teams in the state that should be required to post the HOMETOWN of the players on their roster for all to see! Obviously recruiting is going well in the 7th and 8th grades!

re: CV-St. George | 7:55 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Interesting idea, have all-star teams from Cache Valley and St. George play the Utah Valley All-Stars (Timpview) instead of having one school (Mt. Crest) play them. Not sure Timpview would like that much competitiion, see how they did against 5A schools this year.
Re: Mustang at 7:28 | 8:05 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
SCOREBOARD!

Mt Crest= Home of the Semi-Finals!
TV= Home of State Champions!
There is a huge difference!
Re: Boundaries | 8:33 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Get real Springville is a team built on hometown boys. None of the players live outside the boundaries and they play hard for each other. I take nothing away from Timpview's win at all cost but don't think all other teams do the same.

Everyone is painting this game like David vs. Goliath and we all remember what happen in that battle.
Painful | 8:36 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I watched the game on KJAZZ. PLEASE, don't ever let Reno Mahe do another game! It was painful. A great player does not make a great color analyst.

With respect to the game, I am an MC fan but no doubt last night TV was the better team. Congratulations to both schools, coaches, and players. MC, you had a great season with a lot of success. Don't forget that!
And the excuses begin | 8:51 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Lose and now Mountain Crest fans will post whatever excuse they can. All year you called Timpview out, this whole week you called them saying you wanted them and it was over. You got em and they kicked your butt, now you want to complain about how unfair it is. BTW its a bad omen when your teams scout offense scores twice on your starting D in warmups for the game. Mountain Crest's did that last night.
Springville is Doomed | 8:52 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
The coaches and players are still upset about a certain player leaving and heading to Springville. So get ready for some pain to be delivered in this game.
MC | 8:59 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
No excuses, Timpview ran all over us. What we thought we had we did, but Timpview just had it better. Their QB was an animal and made our defense look helpless trying to tackle him. NO, WE DID NOT HAVE THE BETTER TEAM. Anyone who saw the game would know. If it wasn't for a couple of Timpview turnovers, we would have lost by 30.

Springville is in big trouble.
Kuresa | 9:05 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
He is a good player. Does anyone know if he has any offers to play D1? I haven't heard anything although I know he is just a Jr.
so sad | 9:43 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Timpview is an amazing team, Congrats to them! MC is also an amazing team, but unfortunately could not get it done :( I believe MC is a much better team than we saw thursday night. Timpview was a bigger team and that really hurt us. If it wasn't for the size of the timpview players, I know we could have had a much closer game. Timpview definately has it together and the size of the players really gives them an atvantage. We just couldn't get em down or block them well. I think it was a combo of their size and the pressure of the game, not a great game for MC, but I still think they are an awesome team and had a really great year with much deserved wins. Mustangs are still #1 in my book.
Dixie Fan | 9:54 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
MC fans don't give yourself too much credit. I personally think Timpview is the top team but I also think Springville would be Mountain Crest in a close game.
Timpview | 9:55 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
MC has great skill players. Bottom line, is that TV has great skill players, defensive players and better lineman. TV hits harder then any other team. You can rap on TV for losing to PG and Alta early on. PG loss was within one dropped pass. Alta loss without Kafusi nor Bryson. All great teams can lose a game. Don't discount TV because it is 4A. Anyone who knows football can look at the players and the team play and know perfectly well they match up with any 5A team.
Reno | 10:04 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
What you dont like my one sidedness and monotone voice?

Ok I admit it-I was horrible.

Good guy. Great player. Lets leave it at that Kjazz.
4A | 10:06 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Well, good thing Timpview plays in 4A. Two of the best 5A teams they played this year already beat them (PG - who is already eliminated, and Alta). If Timpview were in 5A, they wouldn't even make the semis.

Bingham, Alta, PG, Davis, Hunter - all better than Timpview.

That said, congrats to Timpview - Kings of 4A....Court Jester of 5A.
Dart Fan | 10:12 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I am reading all of these comments and its funny but the level of disrespect Timpview fans give to Springville is much like what we got from the PG fans. All of this talk about future college players just put fuel in our boys tanks. Though I am an outsider I will be at this game to see just how dominant Timpview is because I know we already dismantled a team they lost to so they are very beatable.
