No sir - I disagree

We've now got a government that shows signs of actually caring about the well-being of American citizens as much as it does the profits of large corporations.

I'm extremely pleased with that change in government outlook, and I look forward to much more.

From my perspective, I "took my country back" a year ago.

The far right wrapping itself up in mindless and hypocritical anger is not the same thing as offering constructive solutions to the extremely complex problems ahead of us.

If an invective-filled "tea party" is your idea of helping America - then you're delusional.

Modern Democrats

I am old enough to have witnessed a compete shift in the Democratic party philosophy. What ever happened to the Democrats like John F. Kennedy who said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what can I do for your country". Modern Democrats have turned that statement completely around to somethink like, "Demand your fellow citizens give you what they earned and give nothing back to your country". Be takers instead of givers!

I thought we just did that...

The last election was a step to 'take back' America from the party that sold out to big business, sent us to war (on a lie), shredded the constitution, and turned common citizens into terrorist (if you are not with us, you are against us).

While not perfect, the current administration has a lot to clean up.

today's hilarious entry....

Your rant didn't convince me of anything. We have a terrific President now and you'd better get used to it because 2016 is a long way off.

p.s. Pelosi and those other "nasty ole' Libs" come from other states, so you should probably move to where they are if you want to "take back your country"LOL~!

I find it ironic that red states are the most controlling. States like Utah are overbearing in their laws. I prefer the freedom of the blue states. Freedom, a term lost on the "conservatives".

You're right, let's give it back to those who really care about you and I and who truly represent the values of our great country: GW Bush, Cheney and Karl Rove.

Doug G

Our country began to be taken back last election. We the people, not we the corporations.

Mike Richards

Some have confused the role of Government. Honestly, what does the Government have to do with compassion? For those who think that I'm hard-hearted, please explain where in the Constitution did we pass to the Government the duty to be compassionate towards the people?

The role of the Federal Government is to enable the federation of States to function without undo confusion between the individual States and without having the smaller Sates getting picked on by the larger States. The safety of the STATES against enemies, foreign and domestic, is guaranteed by the Federal Goverment; but, the PEOPLE look to the local and State governments for all things not enumerated in the Constitution.

Charity and gifts are not on that list.

Misunderstanding the role of Government has led to this unmitigated mess that we have allowed our public servants to create. It will take men and women with a spine to straighten it all out.

Back to Bush?

That guy, along with Cheney, was a complete disaster.
They lies they told will hurt this nation for a generation to come.
Horrible people should not get in politics, at least Obama, etc care about the country and hope to make things right.

state of oppression

The state of Utah is the most oppressive state in America.
Think Iran.

Feel free to take it back from Democrats, just don't give it back to Republicans.

Funny how the right wing loves the Constitution when they are in charge, but are happy to trample on it when the other side wins elections. Oh, wait, the GOP did trample the Constitution when they were in charge....

How sad! How did we go from being the greatest, freest most independent nation on earth . . . to a nation demanding and celebrating "Obama Stash Cash"? And,how did it happen is just over a single generation?

How did the GREATEST generation give us our worst?

Great Letter!

Those that think we are headed in the right direction (33% Ras. poll 11/11) are Obama lovers that want socialism, and bondage to Gov't. Those that see the light (67%) know better.

I wish the ignorant left would understand the purpose of Gov't that M.Richards posted about. Then some improvements could be made, rather than a ranting left that will always blame someone else for the problems.(They do take credit for success, but we know that will be far and few between with this administration) Hence the "hope", we fear the change!

Spoken like a true paranoid I mean republican

Really?

"But our current politicians are doing all they can to again enslave us, control us, silence us..."

They're not doing too good of a job of it then, since you're quite outspoken without fear of reprimand.

Or maybe it's just that you're more of an alarmist and a radical.

I favor the latter.

To Lee

We got here with 8 years of a president that was neither curious or smart. He was a failed free marketeer; he was a failed national guardsman; and he was a failed president. Putting Humpty Dumpty back together again takes patience and intelligence.

@ Lee Padron 8:07

We lost the greatest nation when we looked to Gov't to "take care" of us. ie Social Security, Medicare, Welfare.
When we lost the desire for freedom and self-reliance as a society we allowed others to look out for our wellbeing. These corrupt politicians (both sides) now use entitlements to lure voters to remain in power.
We get what we deserve and as long as voters remain ignorant and dependent, the results will be what we have, a weakened nation.

@ MR

There is a fatal flaw in your reasoning.

Governments are made up of people and most are inherently compassionate creatures, unlike yourself.

Do you propose some sort of prerequisite of indifference to govern a people? That would make for a sad state of affairs, indeed.

@Lee

@Lee, it would appear that a viperous generation was born after the second world war. The baby boomers and the me generations shall pass away. I have hopes for the younger generations. America's light shall shine bright again.

In meantime, the country will go broke and will suffer, but it is not at an end.
