What do you mean he has no way to pay for it????

Don't prisoners get an albeit low wage in prison? Can't this be garnished?? Couldn't he get a job when he gets out??? Isn't the garbage dump looking for people?

How can a fine be imposed and then for that reason be waived?!?!? What is the reasoning? Increadulous.

No, most prisoners do not get a wage, and if they do it goes towards inflated costs of personal care products. How do you garnish a min wage job.. cause you can bet not many will be willing to hire a child pornographer in most jobs.... and I am hoping that when he gets out, someone of authority ( not a family member that may be soft or into the same things he is) is the one to supervise.

Personally, a child pornographer. esp one that is into '"extensive and gruesome"' pictures, should never be allowed within 100 yards of a child, with or without supervision. The reasoning is they will, in 90 % of the cases, evolve into pedophiles.. which then escalates into more violence toward children. I have worked with pedophiles prev. in state and institutional areas, the thing they ALL say they will do when out of the facility is find a child to 'play' with. Confinement forever is about all we can do to protect our greatest resource.. kids.Previous stories said he had over 1200 pictures... should be charged on each one!

Funny, it does mention he has grand daughters, but no mention of a wife or other family.

bertandearnie - just to correct your statistics. 90% of child pornographers do not evolve into pedophiles, at least according to what I have read. If you have a statistical report you want to use to make your case, then please do so, otherwise, don't be espousing your feelings about such people and passing it on as fact. Most sex offenders, of any stripe, do not reoffend sexually. They may offend but it is usually due to registration or probation violations and not sex offenses. There have been studies made by the DOJ, California, Minnesota, Michigan, and Illinois that do not support what you are espousing.
