Could it be... | 7:29 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
that doctors have less cases to report because they're saying "don't come?"
That's what our doctor's office said.
Not really that bad? | 8:02 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Maybe people are realizing that this is not as bad as it was once percived to be. It is amzing to me what the media and a little hype can do to people. At the end of the day, this is just the flu. Nothing more. Nothing less. People are realizing that they need to be careful and take care of themselves and everything will be ok. It is too bad we don't put this kind of attention on things that really do kill people every day like smoking and drinking. They will kill more people than any flu will ever do.

I would agree that it's not as bad as it was made out to be. I suppose the H1N1 SCARE brought in a considerable amount of money to the pharmaceutical and medical world who as well made the vaccination. Kinda like playing hoax on man kind to benefit someones money bags in a large way.

It is widespread, and making children and pregnant women very ill. Get the vaccine.

I think it's probably that the flu is subsiding for the moment that cases are down, or, as one poster said, people are staying home when they are sick, like they've been told. I don't think it's people realizing it's not as bad as they thought that cases have decreased. However, I'd be willing to bet that if this flu does increase or people really start dying, those that say it's "only the flu" and "media hype" will be demanding answers from the media and our government as to why more isn't being done. Hindsight is bliss, isn't it?

What a blessing it would be if the swine flu turned out to be something less than predicted. It is unfortunate that there are some among us who wish differently, just so they can have their "I told you so" moment.

Your facts are obviously wrong. I have a dear friend whose daughter died of swine flu Nov 5, 2009.

What about the hype??? Where is the pandemic? Millions of people dying? The media and govt should be ashamed of themselves for the show they put on to scare everyone. Making people stand in line overnight for a vacine that was rushed through production with no long term studies. My sister had her 1 year old vacinated and guess who has been sick this week with the swine flu. What a scam. The emporer has no clothes!!!!!!!!
No scare | 5:39 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
The government did not create a scare. Things like this must be hard to predict. It is like these hurricanes that start out hundreds of miles in the Ocean. You can predict but you do not know 100% what will happen and where it will hit. You can only analyze and predict.

I have been fortunate to not get it so far, but many of my colleagues are not so lucky.

Obviously you have not taken care of a sick child who developed complications from this flu.You were very lucky. But please don't generalize. We need people to understand that staying home and not spreading the virus is prudent. I hope you don't contract this or that you must watch someone close to you try to fight this for weeks. For those who have had "severe" cases with compications...it was "that bad" and worse. For those who have actually lost a loved one to this flu. It is that bad. Ignore the idiotic people who write to see their lack of brains in print.

@Utahn: Oh, there's the proof: Someone got sick after they got the shot, so it therefore stands to reason that the shot must cause the flu. Get real!
