I've always liked Sarah Palin (or at least her persona), but she was a train wreck for McCain in every way. They should have known what they were getting well before they'd spent $500,000 on her vetting process. She was like a breath of fresh air at the RNC, but couric absolutely crucified her. She was never the same and her appointment looked more like desparation as the race wound down.

In the end it probably would have been a losing fight either way, but when the economy was turning south fast McCain could have at least put up a better fight with Romney as his running mate. Romney would have eaten couric for lunch on questions about court cases couric herself has never read, not to mention the economy.

Yeah. Ahhhhhh, I think I'll pass on this book. I think I can find a better use of my time. What little bit is listed in this article doesn't give me a warm, fuzzy feeling to go out and buy it.

Palin is an idiot. I hope she's the nominee in 2012

I think Palin is a really good person and the world would be a better place if every mother took as good of care of their families as she did, but there is no way she is ever going to win a nation wide election.

Someone should stick a fork in this extremist... she's done.
Just wondering | 4:05 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Does the book indicate she is anti-Mormon?

Kids: winners never quit and quitters never win, unless your a conservative. When, I hear Sarah speak there's no arguing, she speaks like a conservative.

I like the wax dummy they used for the picture on the book cover.

who the hell can say palin is a good person she did everything she could to get power while trying to hide the hyporcracies involved. god how many of u religious freaks still idealize an early 20th century ideal in our rapidly changing post modern world get with the times.
REALLY? | 4:24 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Is palin really a GOOD parent? She is not home with her children especially the downs child and her handling of the daughters mistake child? Give me a break and look at some great mothers.

Idea vs Reality | 4:35 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
People like the idea of Sarah Palin (a politcal maverick), but the actual Sarah Palin scares us.
Palin is a great person | 4:44 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
I hope Sarah takes a solo run for the big seat in DC. She is honest and that's what scares the rest of the idiots in DC. I wonder if the whole gig would have been different if Sarah would have been Obama's running mate and Clinton would have swapped party's and ran as McCain's VP? I'm going to buy the book. Maybe we in the Confederate Party can get Sarah to be our Candidate in 2012
Mike | 4:44 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
I hope she does get the Republican nomination in 2012. That way Obama should tromp her by 25-30% pts.

Republicans need a good tromping in the mid-terms to perhaps wake them up that voting NO on important issues in congress is unpatriotic and obstructionist.

Nothing of substance to say so do the name calling, and putting down someone's beliefs. Pretty funny!
Sarah Palin is a strong intellegent woman who knows her values and her position on the important things. She is very articulate. I can hardly wait to get her book. She balances her life and her husband and children know they are loved and are very important to her.
I bet she can give many speeches without a teleprompter.
Thanks Palin....... | 4:57 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Please run again in 2012 so that we won't have another Republican in office. You did a fine job with McBush errrrr.... McCain. Katie Couric is my hero!
Ugghhh | 5:02 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
She needs to get off the national stage if she won in 2012 *shudder* we would trade one extreme for another.

She worked against the legislature in Alaska in attempt to get the residents of the state to their elected representatives. Alaskans voted 30 years ago to move the capital and the legislature is still dragging its feet. Unlike Palin, the legislators do not want the voters to have access to them.
Glenn Beck | 5:45 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Should Sarah Palin have her own Talk Show to, along with her new book?. Going Rogue: An American Life, by Sarah Palin.

There's lots to talk about.

Barack Obama won election last year, aided by his claims of moderation and transparency, and the huge cover he received from the adoring liberal media. Many Americans gave the relatively unknown first term Illinois senator the benefit of the doubt, and are now coming to regret it.

Instead of centrist policies, they have seen an extreme far-left assault on private enterprise and personal liberties. From pork barrel "stimulus" to unprecedented government spending and debt, and auto company takeovers to the present attempt at a socialist seizure of health care.

Glen Beck for president with Sarah Palin as VP!
Sec. Colin Powell was correct | 8:21 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
If Beck and Palin run and loose --
Will you nut-cake Conservatives finally fade away never to be heard from again.

Seriously,
The GOP needs to re-build itself with some serious candidates and doesn't need the attention it's getting from the lunatc fringe, tin-folied-hat, birthers, town-hall-shout-downers screaming from the ultra-far-right.

If we exclude the time Palin took to go speak to the financial sharpies in Hong Kong, then this book must have been written in, what, maybe a month? How long did Tolstoy take to get out "War and Peace"?
Jeb | 9:55 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
I'd be shocked if she ever played a role on the national stage again. Her position on the ticket was a long shot at best. She has no chance of a national level career. She just isn't intelligent enough.

I wasn't a Huckabee fan either but at least he has some substance behind him. The GOP needs some moderates that are willing to govern from the center in order to break the impasse that our nation faces now.
Great Plains Saint | 1:24 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Although, I am a moderate Republican in thought. I totally support Sarah Palin. What an incredible person. I would seriously vote for her if she ran on the national stage. She needed some catching up from the McCain campaign. They did little to no education of the Governor. Sarah came in with a fresh view and few in the mainstream wanted to listen. You go for it Sarah. I think Ronald Reagan would be proud of you.
Conservative Mormon | 9:25 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
The only mistake Sarah Palin ever made in politics was running on the same ticket as a socialist. Sarah Palin is a conservative in a party that kowtows to the left. McCain, Romney, Guiliani, Fred Thompson - they all are liberals. Thank you Sarah for still having integrity.

I said the world would be a better place if all mothers were as good as her. I did not say she was a stellar mother. I work with kids in inner city schools and trsut me, things would be better if all parents were at least as good as her.
I knew when McCain | 3:01 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
was nominated that Obama would be elected--even many Republicans in McCain's own state don't like him. And nobody could support him passionately.

When Palin was nominated I happened to be talking with friends--I wasn't familiar with her at all, but two of my friends were from Alaska and one not only has known her since their teen years, but some of his family worked for some of hers, so he'd had contact over many years. They both said that she was intelligent, strong, and honest with nothing fake about her.

I think her worst mistake--after running with McCain--was resigning as governor. Still don't understand it--it doesn't appear to be in character.
And as to her kid's problems--well, lots of us have had serious trouble with our kids, too--in spite of our trying hard. She may be a working mother, and I'm not, but neither of us can make decisions for our kids--it's called agency, darn it!
I don't get it. | 5:01 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Everyone piles on Sarah Palin. The bad thing was that John McCain totally left her hanging... and she was unprepared. I think she has a lot to offer but now won't be able to cut through the impressions that most Americans have about her. It's too bad.
