I wish I would've waited til this came out on DVD to watch. Good animation of the earth crumbling... But after 50 minutes of that you get bored. The Story wasn't all that great either.. All in all decent movie, but I would never buy it.

This me of the classic story "The Second Deluge" by Garrett P. Serviss. In that story the earth is destroyed by a giant flood caused by an approaching 'water rich nebula.' A wealthy man builds a giant sub-marine for the saving of the earth's species. The majority of the story is the exploration of the earth after the flood. I highly recommend it.

Looks depressing but I guess I'll end it seeing at some point. It might even be fun. Still have yet to see Where The Wild Things Are, Paranormal Activities, and Disney's A Christmas with good ole' Jim Carrey and Gary Oldman.

Things blowing up, check.
Big volcanoes, check.
Hot guys (mmmm....John Cusack), check.
California literally sliding into the ocean, check.
More things 'sploding, check.
Sounds like my kind of movie.

Eh, it may have bad acting, but it looks like good, cheesy fun with lots of stuff blowing up. As long as he stays away from any more Godzilla movies, I'll be fine.

Sounds like a great bad movie. No story, explosions galore, special effects so unbelievable there ridiculous, this should be a instant contender for a RAZZIE.

COme on this movie was an enjoyable Popcorn flick...and with all the junk going on in the world it is OK to have a popcorn flick once in a while to shake our seats and wow our eyes. It won't be a Best Picture contender, but it won't be a stinker either. It was fun.

Besides, this is the third time Roland Emerich has destroyed the White House in a movie--each different than the last! I wonder how he'll do it next time! Being bowled over by an aircraft carrier in a tidal wave is hard to beat!

This is not the standard disaster flick we've come to expect. Jeff is right, Bay and others could take a hint. It let us bask in the ridiculous sights (California sliding into the ocean, awesome!), it had just enough story to hold it together, it didn't get too sciencey (the major description of what was happening was provided via a web cartoon featuring Woody Harrelson) and it was just big dumb fun, I turned my brain off for almost three hours (a bit long, but I wasn't antsy)and just enjoyed myself.

On my death bed I'll wish I had that 160 minutes of my life back. I already wish I had my $16 back. This is in contention for one of the worst movies I've ever seen. If you're tempted to go...look for some reruns of Hee Haw or the Lawrence Welk Show to kill some time.
