Game on | 10:30 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
Let's all go down and watch the football party. I have seen every game since these two teams have started playing each other again. Thanks to both coaches for making this game possible for the fans. I can't wait for Friday. Best football I've seen in years when these two team play each other.

I have been anticipating this game for weeks. This is as good as it gets..The team that works the hardest and makes the least mistakes wins. What happened last game, last year, etc. doesn't matter. Can't wait--

All I can say is Bingham will rundown the Hawks throat.
Dear PETA no hawk will be hurt in the Miners quest for a State Title.
Dear Miners | 7:16 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
FOUR!!!! This will be a very tough game against a very good team! Show them how your hard work has paid off and make us all proud! We are all behind you!! Miner Pride!

I haven't seen the Hawks this determined and focused, and this pumped up before a game all season, this one will be a good one as usual.
Keys for Alta to win. Control the noseguard, be creative in picking up yards outside and on short routes, look underneath on routes to set up the long ball, poise (no bad penalties). Defensively they can't let Bingham pick up big chunks on the ground, and have wrap up.
Keys for Bingham. Run the ball effectively, get an early lead and don't turn the ball over. Defensively try and keep Alta receivers in front of you and pressure the qb.
I think the difference in this game after all is said and done is that Alta has had to play a tough team nearly every week and are ready to take their game to a higher level. Bingham will have to adjust to a team that is capable of beating them which they haven't seen since Texas and I think that Alta will get an early lead and will hang on to it this time around. Alta 31 Bingham 27
Pretty obvious
Dear Hawks | 9:36 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
You can't be serious. Your title last year was a Bingham giveaway. They won't make that mistake again. And it won't be as close as the August game.

Keep dreamin Hawks -- you have about 30 more hours to believe in unicorns.

Alta has the one major injury to the linebacker. I'd try to type his name but I'll butcher it, I'm sure. That one hurts. It's especially hard considering it came against one of the worst teams in the state.
Question: What kind of injuries (if any) is Bingham dealing with tomorrow? Anything major? Any important players out for the game tomorrow?

Are there any other Alta injuries?

GO MINERS!!!

Hausekneckt is out, other than him the other Alta kids are all healthy.
Re: Dear Hawks | 11:07 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Unicorn? Like taking state the past TWO years?

I think you are looking for the tooth fairy.

This one is Alta's, again three peat.
Black and Blue!!! | 11:33 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
This will be another great game up on the turf!! The only major injury for Bingham that I am aware of, but I am not on the coaching staff or anything, is the loss at LB with Roman Valenzuela #31, the sack leader, so that is a major loss, but they got plenty of guys that can step up. GO BINGHAM!!!!!!!!
Really? Plyxply! | 12:20 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Playing tough teams? Well, given your philosophy, it could be Bingham's game. No team in the Semis had a tougher 1st AND 2nd round opponent. Don't any of you Region 4 supporters/bloggers fool youself into thinking any games leading up to this classic rilvary have anything to do with the outcome.
Minus injuries, all of those games are done and put these teams into position to do what Blue and Black have been waiting to do all year - play each other at State!
Predictions aside, this is HUGE for the fourth straight year.
Friday night that record goes to 2-2, I hope... GO MINERS!
penalties | 12:27 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
no stupid penalties! dont give the game away like last year. keep your cool and dont let the taunting get the better of you.

The Miners absolutely MUST reduce mistakes and draw far fewer flags against Alta than they have all year. I know they've been warned about it ad nauseum but they still keep getting dumb penalties.
Miners, good luck, keep your heads in the game and PLAY SMART!
oh dear. | 1:34 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
don't start fightin now you two teams. You are the best in the state don't worry. Save it for the field now come on.

You must be an Alta guy because every time you post you try and come up with fluff reasons as to why Bingham will lose. Weak last 2 games or they have not played a hard team or something. So here is something to think about. Bingham played a powerful offense in a shoot out (Jordan) and out scored them. Bingham played the best defense in the state (Syracuse) and scored at will. The coach pulled back when the game was in hand and put the JV and Sophies in. That game should have been 52 - 3. Either way the offense and defense do what they need to get the job done. Keep thinking tooth fairies or Unicorns or whatever. This is Bingham's year. They are peaking offensively and defensively at the right time. The coaches learned their lesson last year... shouldn't repeat again this year - get first downs when you have the lead. Kids are fueled and hungry like never before. It will be a great game for sure but Alta should be afraid... very, very afraid. Besides, best 3 out of 5 for next season makes it more interesting?
plyxply | 3:29 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
if I were in Vegas as an unbiased oddsmaker I would honestly say it's Bingham by 3. That aside I am an Alta guy, but have kids I've coached at 7 different high schools, including Bingham, so while I follow Alta closest and cheer for them, I'm pretty realistic. Going into this game I feel like they have a better chance to win than I did last year in the final, so just a guy feeling but that's the reasoning.

Let the Trash talkers do what they do best, but all rela fans know that the game is won on the field....talk is cheap!

THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT GAME....tHE TWO BEST TEAMS IN THE STATE!

THIS GAME IS THE 5A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.......SORRY DAVIS/HUNTER, BUT YOUR LUCKY THE UHSAA IS SO LAME OTHERWISE, YOU WOULD BOTH BEING GOING HOME TOMORROW WITH A HUGE LOSS........

Alta win last year wasn’t luck. That group of kids were always winners and not once did any of the players think they were out of it. Those kids could have been down by 50 and they would still think they could win. They all believed it, they all thought it and they all lived it. They were special. I think even the coaches would tell you that. This year’s Alta team is different. Too many penalties, too many personal agendas, too many personal fouls and on and on. I haven’t seen a team leader all year. This year’s team looks like they are out of control. They did start to act like a team a few weeks ago with their midfield game circle. Alta needs to bring it with all players. Bingham seems hungrier this year. Alta can do it if they just do it. If Alta plays as a team, you can't beat Alta. Best coaching staff in the country.

Alta can do it if they just do it.
Uh, yeah. . .right. Can't argue with logic like that.

Alta's Zach Liston (right) is rocked by Bingham's Chris Nichols when the two teams faced each other in August.
