Man i cant wait till saturday.. This is going to be a great game.. I hope both teams show up to play and can battle it out till the clock stops.. Good luck to both teams this weekend.. i predict San juan will come out on top..
SS #1 | 9:39 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
We are going to get San Juan this time around. We are far more prepared and I think this game will not be close. South Summit is the better team as far as the stats and books go. I like our chances. The weather is going to affect San Juan far more than it will South Summit. We run the ball better than San Juan. They rely on their pass too much. Like I said after we loss in Blanding, on a neutral field I pick South Summit. Go wildcats!!
ted | 9:46 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
This could be a dandy. Can't wait.

San Juan fan, on the fact that this will be a great game. However, these Wildcats haven't been fed, and they are hungry for the title. Both teams will have to play their best and the title of this article says it all. Get ready for a great game. GO CATS!!!
RE:SS#1 | 10:28 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
Your stats are better than San Juans..I think I would rather have the win in the head to head lol. I also know Coach Lee pulls his starters far earlier than most coaches when the game is in hand (Im glad he does BTW) this helps with SJ continued winning year after year. Now Ive only seen SS play once but Ive heard that in your blowout your starter are left in most of the game (dint you guys score with starters on the last play in the 1st Grand game?) this builds your stats. You can have your stats, SJ will be happy with the championship.
Anonymous | 10:49 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
why does everyone think that the weather will effect SJ so badly and SS will just roll right through it like its nothing.. if weathers a factor i think it will effect both teams and not just SJ. and SJ doesnt rely just on passing.. where'd that come from? good luck to both teams!
Anonymous | 11:12 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
Rely on passing? Re: SS#1,how you ever seen us play? one kid last game we played you had 176 yards...
hahaha... | 4:35 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
wildcats run the ball better then San Juan.. thats the hardest iv laughed in a long time.. Holliday alone had over 170 yards rushing the last time we played you..
DennyG | 6:41 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Another fun championship.
Will San Juan pull out the half back pass?
Will they execute the fumbleruskie again?
Each time they've beaten SS in the championship game this past decade it was a trick play up their sleeve. But it worked, and they won.
This should be an excellent game.
It's the Cats turn. Good Luck SS.
wait for the game | 7:02 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
All of you who think one team is better than the other and are talking smack...leave it alone. Both of these teams are very good! Both teams want to win. Both coaches understand turnovers will be the key. Previous opponents, previous scores, etc...all don't matter on Saturday. The team that plays the most consistent will win. Hopefully, both sides will be show good sportsmanship and it will be a hard fought, tough battle. Good luck to both teams, but better luck to the cats! GO CATS!
SJ Fan | 7:55 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
It is going to be an awesome game. It is hard to beat one team twice in one season and SJ has their work cut out. It will be a stormy game up there and whoever plays the best defense will win this game. I am a SJ fan but I am 51% SS 49% SJ. I would like to see SJ take it, but SS will come to play. Go teams!!!
Howie | 8:23 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
One of the keys factors of this game will be the travel that San Juan has to do to get to Alta High School. People overlook that aspect of the game. South Summit struggled at San Juan even though the score didn't reflect it but one has to like the Wildcats chances in a rematch.
sjhsports | 8:31 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
I hope both teams play hard. I know SJ has hit the weights in the offseason and practiced hard all year to get ready for this game. The time is yours, go out and play hard. D.Y.J.
re DennyG | 8:48 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
You are half right. In 1998 we scored two touchdowns no trick plays. In the 2000 championship our scores were on a two yard touchdown run and a 20 yard touchdown pass and we had two field goals making our score 20. We did have a play where we gave it to our reciever and then he ended up throwing it to our qb. That did go for about 30 yards. We didnt score any touchdowns on trick plays in that game. I bet that are some trick plays this weekend though.
Bronco Fan | 8:56 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Go Broncos! You guys have worked your tails off for this chance, now realize the dream! Ditto on sjhsports "D.Y.J."
re Howie | 8:57 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
If anyone knows how to travel and play good its San Juan. I promise you travel will not be an issue. If South Summit is thinking that will help them then you guys are in for a scare. Plus they will come up friday morning. They will have a practice friday afternoon. They will be fresh and ready to go come saturday 11 am.
Captain | 9:31 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
San Juan does not rely on the pass. If anything they rely on the run. San Juan has a group of very good running backs, and a running offense. San Juan will win this game. Oh yeah, a neutral field? How far is Kamas from Alta High School? Not far.
SJ fan | 10:12 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
well the last time we played you it was a 21 to 7 game going into the fourth quarter but two rare fumbles by san juan and a big pass play that won't happen again allowed SS to score a touchdown and a field goal so i like SJ again by a touchdown
RE:CAPTAIN | 10:39 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
I think it's 31.7 miles from Kamas and 317 miles from Blanding. About the same. LOL LOL.
RE: Captain | 11:50 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Just hang on the travel issue all you want. If thats the only thing you can find hope that you might eek out a win with then go with it. As for SJ they do this all the time including the two times they beat you in the championship (Im assuming they played up north)We know where we live and still we have won every away game this year. SJ wins this by 14
go broncos!  | 12:10 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
seniors enjoy , make every play your greatest and it will carry over to the other players! i predict a san juan blow out! as they have just started to jell! releash the horses!!
ss mom | 12:30 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
both teams have worked very hard to get to this point. nothing has been handed to either side, it's all been earned. i'm looking forward to a great game on saturday hopefully there will be good sportsmanship on both sides...on the field and in the stands. we are all proud of our boys for everything they have accomplished. GO CATS!!!!!!!

Fans of both South Summit and San Juan who can't make the game, you can listen live at sanjuansports . com. You can't post web addresses in the blog so remember to remove the spaces between sports . and com. Hope this gets through to the blog and all those who are going to miss a great game can still listen to it.

SJ | 3:39 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
After watching Grand pretty much handle SS till the 4th quarter over at SUU i think ill keep my odds with San Juan who played a much greater team with a blow out ending..... Everyone talking stats or whatever get real you know San Juan is the better team, everyone knows that even Perry's power guide ha. And for those saying its harder to beat the team the 2nd time your just looking for little things to make your team feel better!! i would be nervous if i was SS...... San Juan is still the REAL DEAL! ya dig
RE: SJ | 4:25 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
South Summit isnt nervous, niether is San Juan. What they are , is anxious. Anxious to go out and crack some helmets. It is to bad that the game is not played at the University, but who cares. It is almost game time and Football is in the air. I'm lookin for a battle from the East. Good luck to both teams. I want to see a hard fought, injury free game
GO CATS
I believe in you

SS | 4:26 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
South Summit wins this one easily. After losing the first game in Blanding they have the Broncos figured out. The Kamas boys are ready to play this weekend and SJ will be luck to get 100 yards of offense. SS will roll up 500 yds of offense on the weak SJ defense and win by a landslide.

SS 48
SJ 6

SS will avenge the 1998 and 2000 championships lost to SJ!
Fan | 4:45 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
This could very well be the best game of the week. These two teams are like mirror images of each other. They both play great defense. They both run the ball extremely well and mix in just enough passing to keep the defense honest. I think this one comes down to execution, turnovers and penalties. Hold onto the ball and keep the yellow flags in the refs pocket and you will win. Lets hope for a hard fought injury free game and may the best team win!
RE: SS | 5:05 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Seriously you think SS has SJ figured out? San Juan hasn't changed their play book in 25 years and yet they still manage to rock 2A year in and year out... Kinda like the good ole reverse on kick returns... been doing that since the dawn of time and still nets us a handful of TDs every season! Good luck to both teams and I wont make a prediction but I think SS is hoping to talk big in hopes of changing the game saturday. Wishful thinking never did win a football game my friend.
SS | 5:58 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Yes we have SJ figured out and will stomp them on Saturday. We know they will try some trick play but our defense is way to good to be fooled. We will be waiting and destroy SJ. Like I said before it will be a blowout. SS 48 SJ 6. Holliday won't even get past the line of scrimage agianst us our defense will own SJ.
Captain | 7:00 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
To RE: Captain @ 11:50. I dont know what your talking about. I was saying that SS has basically home field. I want San Juan to win. Im definatly not from Kamas.

48-6? Really?? Can you give me some of whatever your smoking.
Samak Talk | 7:18 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Our boys won't be denied this time. South Summit will win 27-7. We have made the adjustments it takes to make a champion.
RE: SS | 7:20 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Please, no more JD or his impersonators. South Summit will be ready,as will San Juan. We expect a great game. Nothing less. Two great teams will battle. Let both teams continue to represent 2-A football with class. And when the final whistle blows : meet in the middle of the field to shake hands.
GO SOUTH SUMMIT

South Summitt... wanna know the best part about beatin you guys in 98, 00 and workin you over earlier this year?? The fact that we HAVE a right to talk because we've proved ourselves! until you actually beat us you have no right or room to talk! You haven't earned or proved a THING TO SJ! It'll be a good game for a half until the broncos blow the cats outta the game for good 35-14 broncos on top baby!!!!

These are two great teams ---- lets keep sportsmanship at the top of the requirements.
Play hard, play well, and enjoy the game. The players will remember this one the rest of their lives.
Best to both teams. (an excited dad)

To: haha | 1:54 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
a 21 point spread, an 11 point spread and that's almost losing? So SJ 21 and SS 17 - that's only 4 points - who needs to remember what?

just win broncos!maul, maime , whatever!

after thinking ALL San Juan's fans were class acts, this blog has proven differently. While most of SJ's fans are great, Just like every other school, you have some real D-bag fans as well.
