More grand wisdom from the smartest man on earth.

If electing a "black" President was important to some, and it shouldn't have been, why couldn't it have been Thomas Sowell (or Walter Williams for that matter)?

Why!

Or Tiger Woods.

I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.

Once they let you into the Pundit's Club, you're making so much money that you can't AFFORD to take the pay cut to President.

I agree with above comments. Thomas Sowell is undoubtedly one of my favorite commentators, and his intellect and insight are astonishing.

Thomas Sowell is always on target. Agree with most of what he said. In the sports arena he reall hit the nail on the head. The behind the plate umpiring during the playoffs and the series were the worst that I can recall in many years of following baseball (I'm 79 and have been a fan since I was 8 thanks to my dad). I'd much rather see balls and strikes called consistantly than worry about a few close plays per game. And, it's the easiest to fix with today's technology.

I hate it, but I have to admit our take on the presidents behavior with regard to Fort Hood and the "Gates" situation is the same.

Why so quick to judge, in one case, with the "white guy" yet full deliberation is the order of the day when it comes to a "muslim"?

However, your framing of the DEMOCRATS as revealing their true instincts as a result of one party rule is LAUGHABLE.

The republicans did the same thing while they were in office. They are no more moral than the DEMOCRATS, although one has to wonder when the FACE and SPOKESPERSON of the republicans says he is "ON LOAN FROM GOD".

You had me there for a moment, TOM, however, a complete reading of your piece reveals your tired efforts are just more of the same weeklt drivel for which you have become famous.

Great column as always. Keep up the good work! And just maybe you can keep those people in Wash DC in check.

Wonderful column, as usual!

"I doubt whether the man responsible for the massacre at Fort Hood will pay with his life for the lives that he took."

Agreed. He will most likely not be even convicted for fear that terrorists in cells in the US will retaliate with some huge terrorist attack.
