Why in the name of all | 4:33 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
that is holy did CPS RETURN this poor girl to her mother? Are they insane?

Charge her with whatever you like... as long as the punishment is the death penalty. Anyone who could treat a child that way is not fit for life on this planet.
I also want to know | 2:34 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
the reason CPS returned the girl to her mother. Can they be prosecuted? Or somehow held responsible?

When this sad story was first published it was pointed out that the mother is an illegal alien. She should not be in this country! Too bad we don't enforce our laws, now we have to deal with the consequences.
No excuses | 6:46 a.m. Nov. 12, 2009
There is no excuse for a mother to injure a child intentionally. This girl should be put away for a long time. She should be sterilized so she can not do this again to other children.

Maybe the child protective workers should have to be locked up with this woman (the word mother should never be used for her) and get what this poor little girl had to suffer! CPS is surely NOT doing what they should, PROTECTING chilrden!!!!! I know what these children have to go through with their abusive parents, and then in the "foster" homes, where they often get abused as well. We have raised 7 "hrad to adopt children" from the State. It's unbelievable how many "chances" the parents get, and how little chances the children. Maybe the government should look into this!

The CPS workers who returned this little girl to this monster probably did so because of the extreme pressure put on them by a system that forces social workers to return children to questionable homes. Plea bargaining the charges down now put this woman in a position to do this again when she gets out of jail. We need to rethink the whole justice system if we are serious about protecting children.
