and if they think about it for more than just 2 seconds they remember who gave us this mess and who has too clean it up. It is great having a President that is presidential and does not make America look like we are all fools.
God bless the President of the United States.

The public is going to get even more grouchy when:

hyper inflation hits
taxes go way up
more bail outs come
deficits explode even higher
the U.S. dollar dies
gold is confiscated by the government
another U.S. involved war begins
gas prices shoot back up over $4.00 a gallon

Yup! All things considered it really is more important that the President look and act presidential ... rather than solve problems.

The latest Rasmussen poll shows 53% of Americans DISapprove. I guess the AP likes cherry-picking its poll numbers.

You'd sure think that after a year Obama could have actually accomplished something, rather than just blaming things on other people. Will he still be blaming things on Bush 3 years from now?

Let me know when this president starts being a president instead of a politician. I have been more embarrassed with Obama than I was with Clinton and he was embarrassing as all get out.

Yes, I remember that the democrats took control of both houses of congress in 2006.

Repeat bad things over and over, and it's human nature to start to believe it. That's what those against the President have done ever since he took office. Some of us still use our mind and know - and knew when he took office - that he couldn't magically turn things around for quite a while. And while his popularity might be slipping, he is trying to do what he said he would do, and he's sticking to it: Healthcare reform, stimulus for the economy, and soon will make a decision about Afghanistan. The Dow is up, he passed the stimulus, and Congress passed healthcare reform. He's tackled issues that have support from about 50/50 of the population. This man is trying to make a difference. Some will agree with it and some won't, but he's doing it, and for that he deserves respect. Time will tell whether his policies are for the greater good or not, just as time has told that Bush's wars, now almost 10 years running, are sucking away our money and the lives of our soldiers, and there is no end in sight.

I agree with "Yes" and I would add that I hope he considers the cost of a long term involvement in Afganistan. If he wants us to stay there longer, this time we should pay for it as we go by taxing to obtain the necessary funding. We should all share in the pain, not just those in the Military and their families. The mess we are in was in part caused by Bush and a compliant congress funding two wars while at the same time cutting taxes. Yes, and the tax cuts were mostly for to the benefit of the rich.

Notice how this article spends eight paragraphs telling us how bad Obama's poll numbers are before actually referring to any poll numbers? We have to flip to the second page before discovering that, in fact, Obama has a 54% approval rate, which has been virtually unchanged for some time now.

So, the president's approval rating is higher than the percentage by which he won the election 9 months ago, and this means the public has turned on him?

When people complain about the liberal media, they sure ain't talking about AP.

Barack Obama has proven to be the most incompetent US President in history and the only thing worse than Obama, is the Republicans who seem to be kowtowing to his every thought.

Democrats are liberal by birth. Republicans are liberal by choice.

I hope our country will survive his administration so that someone who loves this country can be elected and help us recover our freedoms and the American dream.

President Obama has potential for greatness. TO judge at this early stage is wrong and unfair. He was saddled with some enormous problems which are slowly being addressed. I don't agree with everything the Administration is doing, but it is going in the right direction. Unfair minded people will criticize, no matter what, but they are not in the majority anyway. The haters are immovable, but they are out in the cold. I am much more optimistic than I was about the last Administration. Come on people, be honest, it was a disaster.

Hope is not a good foundation for a National Security Strategy.

Hope and Change are not a good foundation for a stable economy.

I have yet to observe one thing that this president has done that hasn't been done with the intent of lightening the burden of the common middle class American; the bailout, health care reform so that working people can all have coverage; a well though out plan for Afganastan...

Our prior administration created the mess this president inherited.... Give me a break
