The team is looking solid across the board, and the freshman look like they will be able to contribute down the road in the season.

Noah looks much better and more confident this year.

Is Logan M. going to get any playing time this year or does he get free aparel and a nice seat for each game?

This team is loaded! If Miles can't get it together soon, he may be 4th string b4 the season is done. Everyone, except Anderson who hardly broke a sweat, played better in the post than Cris.

...somehow, the words Cougars and defense don't go together --both in football as well as bball

Sounds like a national championship for the Cougars. Look out Kansas and North Carolina. Right.....

I know Miles contributes in other ways, but I am weary of seeing his shots around the basket either dribble off the rim, or clang off the board. After four years it seems he would have developed the skill to put the ball in the hole down there in the paint. He has good hands; rarely misses a pass, but he just seems to get overanxious and lose the finesse with those "gimmes". I felt Plaisted had the same problem: is there something I am not seeing, or understanding, about finishing a shot down under? Great looking team, again this year. I hope Coach is ok, he seemed to look a little off last night when the cameras focused on him. You ok, Coach??? We appreciate the quality of basket-ball you have brought to us. Really appreciate your ability to get the great talent locally. I expect great things from Hawes and the great 6'9 kid from Provo. Are either of them looking to go on missions?

BYU looked very good at times & seemed to sputter at others. Typical though when you're putting different combinations on the floor. I liked what I saw in their defense at the start of the second half. They put a lot of pressure on CWU which resulted in blowing the game open. Lots of potential with this group. I'm a little worried about our quickness in the post. Teams with size & quickness down below could give us trouble. However, Coach Rose has good quickness on the wings & backcourt to hopefully compensate for this. Good luck Cougars. We're pulling for you!!
MILES needs to step up | 10:53 a.m. Nov. 11, 2009
The only way BYU will be a top 20 team is if Miles can produce on a consistent basis against good competition. He needs to give the team 8-10 points and 8-10 rebounds a game. I don't think he can do it because he looks lost out there on the court. Our big men have let us down in recent years.
What? | 12:44 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
I'm pretty sure you can be excited about the team without getting carried away. No one said they were winning a national championship! The freshman look good and we will see how they keep progressing as the season rolls along. Great job last night BYU!

Haws, most likely.
