Very cool. But they could find the answers they're looking for in the scriptures.

once mankind makes contact with intelligent life on another world its going to devastate religion as we know it especially if they are much more advanced than us and hold differing views.

I'm glad to hear of Vatican support for science, and a much more open-minded attitude to new discoveries.

Of course this has nothing to do with the Catholic priest in the new abc show "V" that discusses with another priest the conundrum they have explaining aliens. Life imitating art art again.

"once mankind makes contact with intelligent life on another world its going to devastate religion as we know it especially if they are much more advanced than us and hold differing views."

That is one of the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints so it won't be devastating to Mormons to find out that there is life on other planets and that it is more advanced than us since that is one of the teachings of the Church.

There is no doubt that the catholic church does and always has known more than it lets out. They are preparing the faithful for something that cannot be hidden for much longer. Fear of the unknown will undoubtedly be very unsettling to many. How could we be the only living beings in this vast universe? Although we dont know exactly how Adam and Eve, the theory of evolution, and now extra terrrestial life is ultimately connected - somehow it is. God is still the supreme being who created it all and the mystery of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit will be revealed to us in due time and possibly only to those who remain faithful and enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Remember, no one can predict the exact day nor hour, but trying times are upon us. Pray often and grow stronger in your faith. Remain strong in your faith and never ever deny the existence of God, even if your life depends on it. God is the alpha and the omega. If God is not in your life, open your heart and mind and let him in. He will bless you abundantly for your faithfulness. Blessed be God forever!
