You are a lucky man. so do only former players get those positions? how does one get into coaching without playing?

This is about Kelly, not Brady. Brady is playing with the Packers.

Former intern | 12:07 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
i worked as an intern a few years back. it is not an easy job. you are basically an errand boy and you aren't allowed to coach. it's much less glorious than the article states.

coaching | 12:10 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
takes a lot of attention to detail, like knowing which Poppinga the article is about. ;)

Then you have to kiss a lot of you know what and hope it leads to something.

It's the good ol' boys club, if you're in, you're in and if you're not, find a new career.

intern jobs | 12:55 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
like any internship, you are there to learn from the professionals. i think it's great that they get at least a scholarship. when i was there, i didn't get that. go get 'em Kelly. Keep ol' duaner on his toes!

coaching football | 1:11 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
is a great career. i have really enjoyed it. it is just so hard for young guys to get into it. i have seen a lot of burned out coaches in their 30s and 40s just such long hours. if you are in it for the wrong reasons, any but helping young men grow and improve, get out. i love coaching, but i know it has taken years off of my life.

Just being able to be close to Coach Bornco must be worth not getting paid for being an intern. So awesome, yet so humble.

great future dividends | 11:55 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
It's a lot of hard work but worth it, like anything else, if you're willing to pay the price you can get some terrific dividends. It allowed my son to work on and get his masters degree and is now coaching at Fresno State just immediately after bein an intern then a Graduate Assistant. The coaches are great to work with and they will help you land a great job if they see your worth. Lots of hours, lack of sleep but a great opportunity in the future - again, only if you're willing to pay the price

if you love football and don't know how to do anything else then you can be an intern.

Kelly, good luck chasing your dream!

P.S. - 1st thing I'd do is move out of Salt Lake to Provo!

Even sleeping in my car would be better than living my few off-hours on I-15....
