Ute fan

I'm not going to games cause of my seats, i'm not going because we're going to suck. I only want to go to games when I know we're going to win.

Okay BYU is trolling the posts.

LaVar the Utah Cat

The alleged Ute fan comment certainly reflects ignorance of the BB team's potential this year. I would think he is a BYU fan. Watching the exhibition game, I was quite impressed with the offensive talent and size that the Utes had. With Boylen's ability to teach defense, I believe they are better at the start of this season than last year's team at the same point. How good the Utes will be is TBD by how quickly they ramp up the defense.

Ute fan...only when they win? Don't call yourself a fan.

Big Vic

Utes know about winning, and Boylen is carrying on that tradition.
C’mon BYU, get yourself a tournament win so you can also have something to be proud of.

Boylen fan

I really like what coach Boylen is doing with this program. The Utes historically have one of the top basketball programs in the nation and Boylen is doing a number of things to bring it back to the top. I love the fact they finally moved the student section closer to the opponents bench - it used to be completely on the opposite side of the arena wich took away any home court advantage.

The Utes are definitely a young team but I believe they are more atheltic than what we have had the past few years as well. By schduling tough teams, they will learn early how to play together. That was one thing that drove me crazy about Majerus - he had lousy schedules.

Go Utes!!!

All I ask...

1) 20+ wins this season
2) 2+ wins vs BYU this season

then I will be a very happy Ute fan.

SoCalUtahFan

It's going to be

a GREAT season of "Jimmy Ball"! They looked poised and very athletic at the exhibition game. Findley was no slouch...better than the "Montana Vo-tech's" or the "no name college allstars" of the Majerus era. I'm baffled by the insecurity of the Y fans that have to post on Utah articles. Weren't we picked to finish third??? Go find Jimmer. We have Carlon Brown and he is going to be a BEAST this season!!! GO UTES!!!!!

Jordan

We lost a lot of good players this year, but I still think this can end up being a pretty successful season. I really like the way Boylen coaches, and I think that he will have the team believing pretty soon! Bring on the season!

MUSS

The MUSS has increased 5X! Even though the MUSS was pretty small last year that is a lot. I think the MUSS has added a lot to the football program and it can do the same for basketball. A big, roudy student section can help the teams win and improve the atmosphere.

Drca

The only thing Drca can lead this team in is turnovers.

I wish they would have done this one year earlier. Then maybe we would have had a shot at knocking off South West Baptist University at home last year.

Do Boylen and Kyle have kids at home making these decisions for them?

Don't tell anyone who the quarterback is against New Mexico. Let's change these seats over here. Let's put the bench over there. Hey, could we get a big candy cotton machine in the center of the court?

The U of U would do well to quit working on the next gimmick and focus on their games.

AZUte

It pains me to be stuck in AZ missing out on the action at the HC. Just reading about Boylen gets me hyped up about the team. I love his enthusiasm and desire to rebuild the winning tradition at the U. Lets throw all our support behind him. I don't want to lose him to another school.

The Spectrum is Better

Ah, poor utes. Just like the team from provo made their own version of the Aggie blue, utah has to go and get the section F behind the basket (like USU) and move students around to be closer to the opponent's bench (like USU). Try all you want... you still can't beat the Spectrum.

The Real USU

Honestly guys, if you think it is the layout of the spectrum that creates the magic in Logan, then life must be really hard for you. Utah will never have the same homecourt advantage that the Aggies enjoy in the Spectrum (aka Cameron Indoor West). Give it up. It is about the fans, and the attitude of the fans. USU has the best, most creative, loudest, smartest, and best organized fan base in the nation. Where we sit hardly makes a difference. And until the Utes start putting a respectable product on the court, nobody will show up anyway. But by all means, keep chasing that rainbow!

HAHAHA

I love how they are trying to directly copy the Spectrum. You can try, but the Huntsman Center will just never compare. BYU tried the same thing and failed.

typo

UNR not UNM

re: HAHAHA

What are you talking about?

Except for adding some high-priced seats in front of the student section, the configuration of the Marriott Center--the benches, the student section, and the season-ticket holders sections hasn't changed since the Marriott Center opened.

JIMMYBALL FAN

THIS IS THE YEAR OF THE TWIN TOWERS. UTAH'S DEFENSIVE MONSTER! AND CARLON'S BREAK OUT YEAR THAT WILL PUT BYU, SAN DIEGO STATE AND NEW MEXICO TO BEDDIE BYE LOOKING FOR ANSWERS. BOYLEN AND HIS CREW HAVE DEFINITLY PUT TOGETHER A SPECIAL GROUP OF YOUNG MEN TO RIVAL GARDNER AND MAJERUS'S JUGERNAUTS. HISTORY AWAITS THE WINNERS.

Go Aggies!

Oh my goodness! Jim Boylen's a little jealous of the team up north that beat him a year ago. Section F is part of the student section in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. It's the loudest section in the entire arena. Coach Boylen really wants the Ute student body to resemble the Aggie student section. Good luck getting that to happen! Can't wait to see how many Aggie fans come out against the Utes in the Huntsman Center. It will be a home game for the team in Blue! GO AGGIES!!!
