That is a real shame - BYU is truly losing a great coach.
What a shame! BYU is losing a great coach!
I have known Sue for many years and have found her to be one of the best Division I Women's Golf Coaches. She took BYU to National Recognition with some great coaching and dedicated athletes. I am proud to call her my friend and respect what she did with the Women's Golf Program at BYU. What is currently happening to coaches and their careers is very sad. Sue my hat is off to you and what you have done with Women's Golf at BYU! Great job my friend.
She has always been a class act
Another move by the BYU athletic administration that leaves you scratching your head. No one resigns from BYU unless they are taking a job somewhere else. Sue is not. Something doesn't smell right in the administration. This does not add up. Someone should look into what is really going on within the BYU athletic department.
This is a big loss for BYU .
Sue represents the best of collegiate golf.
I have known her as a player and a coach . It is too bad that the ideals she portrays are no longer valuable to your university.
Like Karen Lamb, she was given the option of being fired or resigning. She chose to resign. Karen made them fire her. I agree - another head scratcher. Let's count who they have fired/and/or caused to resign in the last few years: Elaine Michaelis, and the guy who was co-AD with her, Carl McGown, Karen Lamb, Jason Watson, softball coach (can't remember her name), Tom Peterson, and now Sue Nyhus. I'm predicting Shay Goulding will be given the option soon, also. Fred Skousen, Tom Holmoe, and Janie Peterson - look in the mirror. Perhaps you are the problem???????
There have been a number of coaches let go for no apparent reason. To correct Calicoug, Fred Skousen retired a year ago and the new VP over athletics is Pres. Wirthen. The athletic administration consists of Tom Holmoe, Brian Santiago, and Janie Penfield. You are right, they need to look in the mirror to find the real problem and Mr. Santiago should look the hardest.
Well, Fellow Coach, glad to hear Fred Skousen retired. Hope they gave him the same send off as they did Elaine. I'm not familiar with Brian Santiago. I'm an alum, but been pretty put off by the Administration. Actually found myself cheering for the Utes lately. I do like Bronco, though.
