Jeff Neilson

Hey I want some tickets if this goes through. Good luck to you and your famil.

Soccerman

Re: Jeff Neilson

Dude, it's not that hard to buy tickets. Don't expect handouts. If you're a fan, go out and buy some tix.

How much is that worth?

Hmmm, considering the fact that they give out all the tickets for free, attendance is on the decline, and Americans in general find soccer as exciting as watching an ant farm, I think Checketts should pay Hansen to take it.

Watch out Checketts will run the bus over you when your not looking ask Limbaugh.

Say What??!

Rush Limbaugh wants to buy RSL?! ... well ... at least it would fly here in SLC.

More than you got, I figure. . .

Considering you just like to make stuff up, I'll listen carefully to you and then believe the opposite of whatever you say.

Re: How much is it worth

Dude, get a clue before you spout of ridiculous rhetoric. Check attendence stats. You'll see that RSL had an increase in attendence this year over last year. Just like the Jazz and other teams, RSL does give out a few free tickets. They're so popular they are always gone before I can get there to get some so like the vast majority of the 17,000+ fans in the stadium I buy mine. Obviously attendence figures show that American's like watching ant farms. Being a born and bred American I can tell you soccer is much more exciting than the other popular sports. You should open your mind (trust me it won't hurt) and experience soccer. The beauty of the game and the passion of the fans is second-to-none, even here in the US.

interesting

ive never gotten a free ticket to an rsl game....

The statement about soccer being extremely boring to watch is completely untrue.. Sure Major League soccer might not be the funnest to watch, but neither is d-league basketball.. When the talent is here Americans come out in the hundreds of thousands.. The world soccer challenge in the u.s. is evidence of that.
250,000 players of american football in the world.
100,000,000 million soccer players. Think about the talent pool feeding into soccer! I go where the athletes are.

Sawkrfan

This is great news for us RSL fans, to have a local owner coming in and helping make sure the franchise is succesful for years to come! Go Real!

Fernando....

Do not answer to somebody that have no idea what he is talking about Even with the naive management that MLS enjoy they are making tons o money ....

Oooh And by the way...One World Soccer Final is bigger than 36 SUPERBOWL combine together ....Soccer is a PLANET EVENT WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT...

georg

Ho Ho boy is back and still using the same old lines.
Hard to believe someones life is so empty that posting anti soccer blogs on a soccer site can make him tick.

@ Re: How much is it worth

First of all, I'm not a dude, I'm a female...but your sexism is noted. Second, I used to play soccer and I used live in a "soccer" country. I quit soccer because I hated it and thought the people in the soccer country were weird.

Soccer is a boring, wimpy game enjoyed by people who are afraid of American sports.

Darn,

I was hoping to make some mad money so I could buy RSL. Lame!

@ the person who hates soccer

If you hated soccer, why did you play it in the first place. Also, the fact that you reason that it is because "people in the soccer country were weird" shows how shallow, judgmental and ignorant you really are. How can you judge a sport (not to mention a whole country) based on some "weird people". Either grow up or act like you are. Your opinion (if you can call it that) has already lost merit when you started spewing your lies (they do not give all their tickets for free). As for being wimpy, besides boxing there is a reason why soccer is #2 in terms of head injuries. No offense to football fans (im an NFL fan as well) but all that padding really shows how macho we americans are right? When i vacationed in australia, americans are considered wimpy due to the fact that our top sport resmebles their top sport(Rugby) but the only difference is that rubgy players dont need padding.

Utahn

I used to think soccer was boring and hoped that RSL would go away. But then I started working with some soccer fanatics and went to three RSL games this year and a couple when they were still at Rice-Eccles. While I am not yet ready to buy season tickets, I am impressed with their speed and quickness and their ball handling skills. I like going to the games and the atmosphere around the games. I like the people banging the drums for 90 minutes and throwing crete paper on the field after a goal. Trying doing that at a Jazz, BYU, or Utah game and you would get kicked out. Just for your info, I am a 40 year old white male, born and bred American, and a staunch heterosexual.

Re Re: Jeff Neilson

really???? Go Fire

Wimpy?!?!?!?!

I grew up playing American football and wrestling and never had I had came off the field or mat more exhasted then when I walked off the pitch for my first year of varisty soccer. Also my only serious injuries (broken ribs, and a broken leg) were not from so called Macho sports like football or wrestling (I dislocated my fingers in wrestling and sprained my ankle in football) but from soccer. Get a clue, step up into a wall on a free kick and let me know just how wimpy you have to be to stand in a a free kick?

re: Utahn

Nice soccer conversion story. Too bad it's B.S. and you're just an RSL employee trying to put lipstick on a pig.

More money for the team

I hope we can get a Designated Player now that the other own is super rich.

What an Idiot

How dumb does this Hansen guy have to be? Hasn't RSL had financial Problems since day 1? Soccer may be the Number 1 sport outside of America, but will never be better than 5-6 in America. Watching Swimming is more exciting than watching Soccer. I love how these guys make a little Money and want to own a sports Franchise. Ask the Miller Family how much they are going to Lose on the Jazz and the Bees this year. Sports Franchises are very hard Business to make money in unless you are the Cowboys or a Big City High Profile Team. There is a Good Reason why Dave is Selling 49%, Hes not a Dumb man. The team needs Cash, Plain and simple. Guy is an Idiot to throw away Money on RSL and then have to help fund the Losses in the coming years. Now that sounds fun.
