High school soccer: Second team all-state

Its a crime there are no Timpview players anywhere on these lists. We have the best athletes and best teams no matter what the sport. What are you thinking, Deseret News? Correct this injustice NOW!

Please don't blame the Deseret News, it's the coaches that vote for all-state. There are always people saying why didn't the DNews pick so and so player or team for all state. DNews doesn't get enough credit covering high school sports, but they sure get unwarranted criticism. If the coaches didn't feel Timpview had all staters for soccer, just accept it. Don't blame DNews when they just print what they get from the coaches.

I think deseret news does the best job of any newspaper in the state covering high school sports. Salt Lake Trib throws in little snippets here and there and Daily Herald gets names and stories wrong all the time. Des News makes a few mistakes, but thanks for giving girls soccer some much deserved press. Do they report on the all-region teams and mvps etc...? In the past there were stories on all region first team, mvps etc... haven't seen any press yet.

the biggest problem the Deseret news has is actually getting the coaches to vote. So it seems that only a few choose the All-State athletes. Did your coach send in their list.

This isn't football T-Bird fan. All state recognition isn't a birthright for your school in every sport. How many games did you guys win this year? Did you even make the playoffs? Stop complaining.

Lexie Henry from Timpanogas is a sophmore not a senior, and in my opinion she should have made first team 4A. Maris Hamblin from Lone Peak should have made first team 5A and she is a sophmore. Teams that do not make it to the finals, have less exposure, and a harder time getting voted in to first team all state

How come Skyline got no first-teamers? We were the Region 2 champs? Second team is nice and all, but it seems like we were the only region champ not to get any recognition on first team. How come DN?

Davis gets no credit for their girls and they were second in state what's up with that? The Alta Davis game was the best HS soccer game ever played in the state of Utah. Davis deserved way more players than they have here.

I just want to say thanks to the DNEWS for there coverage of SOUTHERN RURAL UTAH girls soccer. We appreciate that someone notices that we are here. We have great athletes, if we put our best on one team we would take state every year hands down. Our girls are amazing they participate in more than one sport during the year and some of them compete in more than one sport in a season ie: cross country, drill team, cheer leading.
