Great Job Jen Mason! Great player and even better person.
Earl J. | 10:58 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
How come there aren't any girls from Region 12? One girl from Manti was one of the top scorers in 3A! Questionable at best in my opinion. Region 12 had some great defenders too this is a questionable act on Deserets part.

Great Job Kiera, you have led the Colts to an awesome season. Your talent for handling the ball on the field is one that I admire. Coach Pino should be proud of you. Alto your stats don't show you made tons of assists, that wasn't logged...and had a tremndous season with your goals. You are a one that your parents should be proud of.

Great job Kiera Help. You led the Colts to an awesome season. Altho the books don't show it you made tons of assists and made the plays. Your goals were earned and fought for and I want to recognize you for that. You are a team leader and the girls respected you on and off the field. You know soccer girl, and your taught the gils alot about team playing and playing smart. You read the defenders and played well. Yes, I agree, your parents should be darn proud of you.

Way to go Kiera. We love you, although you play for Cottonwood, there are those of us at skyline, know you and admire your skills.

These honorable mentions gals are great. I don't know them, but wanted to express that everyone should be acknowledge for the even being mentioned. I have kids that have made it to this list and the 1st and 2nd team, but everyone deserves to be applauded. They're are many great players that are out there, and unfortunately didn't make it to playoffs. They should know that somewhere, out there there are folks like me that applaud them.

KHelp, I am proud of you. You should be on the 1st team, how did that happen. There are alot of us who know your style of playing, your leadership, and your sportmanship. Your skills are one to be admired, you play with smarts, and it is refreshing to see that. You lead the colts to a higher place in the region. You deserve to be on the 1st team, if not the 2nd. However, at least you received Honorable Mention. You are still recognized in my heart. A job well done.
RE: Earl J.  | 12:30 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
I counted at least two players from Delta and one from Manti on this list.

Maybe there would be more if Region 12 actually was competitive with other regions. Manti could not even beat ALA. And Delta got smoked by a pair of 2A teams.

Cottonwood Parent | 1:31 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
At K Helps position she does not have a chance to make that many assists, she is a forward and did not have that many assits. Stop whining and be happy your daughter made this team.
K Help: | 1:39 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
At best K Help is the fourth best player on Cottonwood after Grace Amis, Karlee Pauloukos, Katie Jones. So be happy with your honor Kiera.
C_WOOD | 1:45 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Did you lead your team in scoring? What is the big deal about Kiera, she is not that good.
Tough Picks: | 1:47 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
It is not an easy job picking these teams. I wished the parents of these players would show as much good sportsmanship as there daughter show and quite complaining and bragging how good there daughtre is. The coaches did a great job.
ODP: | 1:54 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
I did not see Kiera make the ODP team ??????
west parent: | 1:57 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Mrs Help please stop complaining about your daughter. Go west girls
Parent | 2:02 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
There are still great players on Manti and Delta. Mia Hamm, said..."True Champions are not those that win, but those that play with guts" Manti and Delta glas, hold your head hight...you played with guts and heart.
RE Picks | 2:05 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
I do belive that the coaches send the names of the girls in. Maybe they also go by stats. Who really knows.
A Mom | 2:10 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Wow, I know so many girls on the 1st/2nd teams but I especially wanted to say well done to the ones on honorable Mention, Mckenzie, Kiera, Felicia....you girls are terrific.
Alta Mom | 2:12 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Ashley....now why did she make the 1st team....I mean she played with the gals that took state...hmmm whats up with that
T-Ville | 2:13 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Riggs girl you did well. Had quite a good number of goals.
M&N | 2:15 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Hannah from Skyline, and Kiera from Cottonwood. I love you girls.
SoccerMom | 2:21 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Kiera H, Wow great stats this season and your 4yr HS time. What a terrific season for CWood. Kiera is the leader that took the colts to the height it made this season. She plays with heart. Colts team and friends respected Kiera for her leadership ability. Pino didn't build the team, she and the other captains did and they did it with spunk and guts. Good luck in your future soccer endeavors.
RE: Alta Mom | 3:05 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Not enough 5A coaches voted May onto the 1st team, that's why she didn't make it.

Who do you suggest she replaces on the 1st team anyway? Godfrey was the standout on the Hawks' back line and the other four girls who made it there were deserving of their defender spots. be happy for the recognition she received.

Alta Mom | 3:07 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Actually Kiera has been on the ODP team as long as my Alta girl has been on the team. Last year was their last year. She is a great person. Who's whinning about honorable mention, that is a great honor.
A Mom | 3:15 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
The Coaches play a big part in building a team, but the make spark comes from the players led by great captains. It is after all a TEAM
Highland Parent | 3:29 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Kiera has been on the ODP State Pool teams since she was very young. Not sure where you got your info from ODP.
really?  | 3:29 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
where is Grace Amis? she saved cottonwood's skin so many times. and ya, she should be up there, along with their freshman keeper, Miranda. They are by far the better players of the team, and deserve to be atleast honorable mention. They both deserve it. that's it.
Shauna | 3:33 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Kurr - honorable mention. Awesome!
M&N | 3:59 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Kiera has been years in the soccer community both High School, ODP and Comp Soccer(UYSA) people who know her want to express their congrats , thats all. People don't get you upset because nothing was said about others.....maybe if their names where on the list people would recognize them and praise their playing abilities as well
Parent  | 4:04 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Jamie Duke is a great player. She plays for WATERFORD not Roland Hall and I believe Amy plays for Roland Hall. There are these forms of mistakes too often. How are the girls supposed to make a name for themselves when it is spelled wrong or under the wrong school.
To Parent at 4:04 p.m. | 4:26 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
What are you talking about? It says Jaime plays for Waterford in the article.
Kiera's Mom | 5:05 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Thank you all for your comments (SMILE)
Cottonwood is a great team in my book, guide by a great coach, captained by 3 terrific girls, Grace, Karlee and Kiera. Grace's hard work and solid kicks saved us a lot in the backfield clearing the ball many times. She is accompanied by Jessica, Gabby and Charlie, well done girls. Miranda, 6 shutouts placing her 8th in 5A, what an added addition to the team. Karlees blast into the goals brought us forward to placing 2nd in region and placed her in 7th place of goals scored in 5A. Karlee was one of those recognized as Academic Athlete (4.0GPA) Way to go Karlee. Marrisa and Morgan awesome midfielders, Mandy and Mady way to work the wings. You all played with heart and did it well, and should be commended for it. Lacie, Katie, Kortney, Chelsey and Sarah well done you brought so much to the team. To Coach Pino, assistant coaches and all Cottonwood Girls on Varsity and JV thank you for making it such an enjoyable soccer season this year. Parents, your girls are remarkable. I will miss the excitement of High School Soccer

Lone Peak Parent | 5:38 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Mckenna Fox, we are proud of you and Your entire team. We love you.

To all others, your daughters should be contratulated despite making it to any of the state or honorable mention lists. Good comments builds character. Shame on those of you, I am appallad to see your crying comments about your daughter or someone else being better.
Maybe this girl know more people than you think, and therefore they admire her for the person she is. Every girl on any high school soccer team, should be recognized we as parents, friends, neighbors, congratulate them on a great game, win or loose.

Send your comments to recognize anybody else, don't degrad others.
Cottowood Parent 1 & 2 | 6:32 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
You are so gracious in your comments, even tho some rude ones were made about your daughter. Now I know where Kiera gets her character from. Your calm deameanor.

I was the one that commented about your daughter being GREAT and fabulous, didn't meant to open a can of worms.
Re: Help | 7:06 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Well Kiera's mom we all know that you wee the ones that wrote the majority of the comments by the times it was written so close, right after another, nobody could careless about honorable mention to make such a big deal except you, so nice try on trying to write a nice comment after all the trash you wrote all day crying becasue your daughter was not good enough to make a better team.
Kiera Keliinohopali Help | 7:07 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Thank you so much for your comments, but i can only say a player is as good as her team i am proud to say that i had a great opportunity to play with the cottonwood girls team and to be coached by pino also congratulations to the other girls who made this also. congratulations girls | 7:09 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
I just want to congratulate all the girls on making this team, even though it sounds like one of the girls parents on Cottonwood was not happy having there daughter placed on a all state team, my daughter made this team and i am very happy of her making honorable mention.
BulldogFan | 12:09 a.m. Nov. 11, 2009
Ellen Sliwinski from Judge Memorial wasnt even mentioned for any all-state team or honorable mention! She is one heck of a player and should be acknowledged for her game. She is truly unbelievable to watch and it is such a shame to see such a talented athlete not mentioned ONCE!
Granger Dad | 7:42 a.m. Nov. 11, 2009
I wanted to say, Granger Girls You played with smiles and spunk, even tho the losses, I am pround of you for stepping on the field to play. Losing never brought you down. I honorable mention you.
to Bulldog Fan | 7:50 a.m. Nov. 11, 2009
It is ashamed that alot of girls don't make the list, state wide, but we know and if we tell them so, it doesn't take a list for us to know they are great.
Ram Fan | 9:55 a.m. Nov. 11, 2009
I want to congratulate the Parowan Lady Rams Soccer team, 2 girls made 2nd team and 2 made Honorable Mention, not bad at all for a 1st year team! What a great season they had. Looking forward to watching these girls play again next season. Congrats to ALL players in all regions, making this list or not you are all a huge assest to your team! It takes a team, not a player to play the game win or lose.
Region 9 fan | 10:00 a.m. Nov. 11, 2009
Region 9 overlooked again on all-state teams. What a surprise. No one up north seems to realize that the state extends past the Utah County line. We had the best soccer of any place in the state. There's no disputing that.
Oh boy | 11:27 a.m. Nov. 11, 2009
A region 9 fan complaining about being slighted. Didn't see that coming.
Uncle Ron | 11:30 a.m. Nov. 11, 2009
TBergen, way to go. I am proud of you
