Why aren't any Grantsville players on this list? Sure they didn't win a game. But they made the playoffs. That should count for something!

COME ON D_NEWS!!!!!!!!

BOO!!! What about Anna Jung, forward from Juan Diego. She was by far one of the best players on the state championship Juan Diego team and she didn't even make this list!? Anna you rock and you definately deserve to be on this first team!!

I am fairly disappointed with this years outcome. After watching our region especially, I saw many players who stood out much further to me than many of these players on this list. Ellen Sliwinski from Judge Memorial was one of them. I was amazed by her skills and tough demeanor. By far one of the best players this state has and I have watched her develop into a tremendous athlete. Like many others she he is extremely deserving of this honor and I am very disappointed to see not only her but others not placed on this this instead of many others.

Funny how the schools who got the most players on these teams are the ones complaining. (Well, except for the Grantsville fan above. Who knows what they're thinking?)

The real crime is that Ben Lomond got no recognition on these all-state teams. WE gave park City everything they could handle in the playoffs. How bout looking at Weber County teams for once?

I firmly believe these selections come from a very political stand point. Many of the players selected are no where near as talented as others not mentioned. Especially the forwards and midfield. Score a bunch in some piece of cake wins and suddenly a player can become one of the best. I agree with Scot pride. There needs to be a larger view of players throughout the state. Have they even seen these kids play? There needs to be recognition based on the actual talent rather than the amount of goals scored or shut outs made.

How come there are no Union players on first team? We made the playoffs for the first time in forever. Come on! Shouldn't at least one of our players be recognized? This makes me want to cancel my DN subscrption RIGHT NOW !!

Does anyone know how they come up with these selections? Is this solely from Deseret News perspective or are they relying on the input from the coaches? I can't imagine Deseret News has a reporter at a good cross-section of games in order to have the necessary exposure.
down with region 11 | 11:16 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
How nice to see that the bulk of the first team is from the top three Region 11 teams. How about putting more than a token player or two in from the other regions? Region 10, Region 9 and Region 12 had some quality soccer players too! It is ridiculous that Judge, JD and Morgan are the only teams that seems to matter here.
To all the whiners | 10:58 p.m. Nov. 13, 2009
The Deseret News selected these teams on voting by coaches in each classification. If you don't feel like your region had enough players selected, complain to the coaches who voted or did not vote. Don't blame the DN. They put these teams together based on who the coaches vote for.
region 10? | 9:14 a.m. Nov. 16, 2009
COACHES--shame shame!
Region 10 definitely needs to be recognized, not just players from teams that made playoffs or whatever. Theres talent out there than doesnt get any recognition and thats not fair. Think about it huh? im not whining im just saying. Look deeper!!!
