Double edged sword... | 9:28 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
Stats for the New York game: Kirilenko was 5-8 from behind the arc. That's great news, but hopefully he doesn't start shooting 8 3-pointers a game.

So many words...

so little to say.

Bad timing Rock to bash AK's shooting. Tonight 5-8 for 3pts, Deron Williams 0-5 on the other hand.

how do we know they were BYU fans? could be random? could be Ute fans?

if they were BYU fans - despicable!

Coaches and players need to know that most of us fans support them, even when we lose. overall, things are pretty good. I'm proud of the high standards and ideals. The wins are nice too.

I got into an argument with an idiot that yelled "I hate Max Hall" as he walked out of the stadium (early). Fair weather fans like that should stay home. Max is a fine young man and an excellent QB (2nd in national rankings). He has made mistakes. Who hasn't? But it isn't entirely his fault that we have 2 losses.

Hill is more responsible, but certainly not all his fault. Even if it was, he deserves better than an egging by childish idiots.

Well they definitely weren't TCU or Utah fans. And Max is one of the highest rated quarterbacks...in inteceptions. Seriously, I think BYU would be better with Nelson at the helm. Or at least letting him throw the ball once before you have "Amazing Max" graduate.
The Hill is Alive | 4:43 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
There is no evidence that BYU fans egged his car. It makes for a controversial story, but it could have been teenage pranksters, ute or aggie fans looking to make Y fans look bad, a former player who didn't get enough playing time and holds a grudge against Hill, etc. Let's not pin the act on "BYU fans" without evidence to support that conclusion.
RE: The Hill is Alive | 8:05 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Typical Cougar blame it on the other guy for wanting to make you look bad. Look around campus there are enough things happening by BYU FAITHFUL to make themselves look bad. Oh sorry nothing bad ever happens at BYU AND byu is perfect.

Hmm...let's think about this.
If I am a Ute fan seeing how bad Hill's defense played against TCU, I'd be so happy.
So happy that I would send candies to his home and not "egg" his car. DUH! Do you get it now?

On the other hand, a low-class Cougar fan may be upset in losing to TCU, he'd do it.
Couple of things | 9:37 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
First, how about BYU taking action against Carlee Payne for the elbow she threw into Lambert's midsection? I've heard all the arguments about how you use your elbows for position, but I've also seen the video enough times to recognize an intentionally thrown elbow the the gut. If this were basketball Payne would have been called for either an intentional foul or T'd up.

Secondly, how are you diminishing the cowardly act of Utah County Cougar fans who feel compelled to vandalize BYU's defensive coordinator's personal property. Pathetic.

Memo to Y Fans:
Boo all you want at the game.
Make all kind of crazy posts on Cougarboard or DesNews.
Talk about the game over the watercooler on Monday.

BUT.....

please recognize that, regardless of where the coach has coached previously, Y fan has no business vandalizing the personal property of a BYU coach over the outcome of a FB game. NO BUSINESS!!!

If Y fan can not separate the outcome of a FB game from personally vandalizing private property, then maybe it is time to revisit the BYU Athletic Dept and, if separation is not possible, time to "Ricks College" athletics.

Funny that you wrote this article just hours before Andre Kirilenko went OFF from the 3 point line!
RE: Couple of things | 11:50 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Wow, so get off your throne.

First off, what action about an elbow thrown? Is it THAT big of a deal? No. One elbow, nothing more, and no retaliation by Y players (cameras would have caught that). I'm sure her coach already said, "hey, watch those elbows!" That does not even come close to warranting a suspension or discipline. Get off it and quit hating.

Second: Don't lecture the entirety of thousands of BYU fans for the act of a few. It only takes one person to egg a car. So, once again, hop off your high horse. It only takes the action of one to ruin the reputation of many. I was embarrassed for that fan and that someone would go out of their way to hate on a defensive coordinator (in his first year). So, instead of lecturing all of BYU and its fans, direct your frustration towards the guilty party. I threw no eggs. Get off my back. And the other tens of thousands of BYU fans.
re: Couple of things | 12:47 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Dude your reasoning is so sound and logical. Yes, let's cancel all sports at BYU and go intramural non-scholarship because possibly one unhappy BYU fan egged a coach's car.

In fact why stop there. I've heard that there are actually BYU students who do not follow the Honor Code. Oh my heavens! If that is the case then let's punish everyone and simply shut down the university altogether.

Also, I recently became aware of some drivers speeding and not stopping at red lights in Utah County. Let's take away everyone's licenses and vehicles to stop this travesty.

And when I was at a grocery store in Utah County I saw a mom speak harshly to her young son. Let's take away everyone's children in Utah County and put them in foster care homes where they will be properly raised.

Yes I agree that no one should have egged Coach Hill's property. But would you use a sledgehammer to swat a fly? An extreme response is usually not the best way to try to solve a problem.

Why would a coach console himself with the fact that his team got egg on its face? "I feel better because my team looked terrible." Yah, Rock on!
